  1. Oh I am sorry. I didn't realise there was a time limit on when riders would be dissapionted on loosing their GP place.
  2. OK smartarse. Protasiewizc, Walesek, Zagar,Mikael Max, Screen who lost his place through injury. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it wrong. The system isn't perfect but nothing is. Deal with it.
  3. Bet Rune Holta isn't saying it's easy to stay in as long as you want. World number 4 to non GP rider in one easy step.
  4. Yes it's a Grand Prix Series. It is also the competition used by the FIM to determine the World Individual Speedway Champion.
  5. And he met the requirments for racing in the league.
  6. So you found the racing entertaining last season and were quite happy to pay to see it but want some unknown Polecat or Scandie to be included to add to the value? I've allways found the racing to be good at Mildenhall in the 3rd division and don't see how binging in random foriegners would improve it. Maybe if they went Elite League and brought in some top riders it would make the racing better but then you would be paying 16/17 quid to get in.
  7. Someone with a bit of knowledge, Malcom Vasey or Jayne probably, explained it last winter. Riders requiring a work permit are not allowed to compete in a semi-professional league. At the end of the day what is wrong with looking after our own for a change?
  8. It matters where they are born as the league was set up to help BRITSH riders develope. Tai could ride in the league because he is British. Not that hard to understand really. Let young Swedes, Danes etc learn in their own countries then come over here to race when they are ready.
  9. I never mentioned that Wiggies career started in 1989. My spelling was shocking in that post though.
  10. And I bet there were still people moaning that not enough riders got a chance
  11. Ohh! So now you've moved the goalposts from everyone to those with 'a good legue standard'. Kepp grasping Parsloes, keep grasping.
  12. You mean the multi World Longtack Champion and bloke that finnished 2nd at Munich in 1989?. Paul Thorpe who did Englnand pround in th World Pairs Champinship.Better do a bit of research Sidney.
  13. Yeah most Chelsea fans I know are from Watford. Breed apeart..............
  14. No they didn't. There were quarter finals for the British riders to go through to the British Final which in the later years only started at semi-finals but it never gave all riders a chance to qualify for the World Final.
  15. I'll agree with that. Speedway sells and promotes itself too cheaply. There is no glamour in its promotion or making the general public believe that they must be there. Look at what has happened in darts. A more piontless and dull sport would be hard to find but it has been promoted very well over the last few years.
  16. Where did I exclusively mention F1? Tell me when the qualifying rounds are for Motocross, Trials (indoor and outdoor), Enduro or Cyclocross.
  17. Thanks for the answer Parsloes. The only problem with that requirment is that I can't think of any other motorsports World Championship that meets your expectations. Does this then mean that all other motorsport World Championships are a farce and that Speedway is actually not alone in being percieved as a joke sport?
  18. Well go to Peterborough then. For unpredictable entertainment I'd rather see Baseby than Monberg.
  19. The Brits are favoured in this League as it was originaly set up to give young British riders a chance to develop their skills. Otherwise why bother with league at all? Why bother spending money on 2nd halfs when the money could be saved and used to bring Scandinavians over who are a ready made product? Also I think the NL is classed as semi-professional so when it comes to foreign riders competing the Department for Work and Pensions get involved with work permits etc.
  20. Cycling. Riders often opt out of the World Championships be it road or track, in order to preserve form for other events. World Touring Car Championships. Not all the best tin top drivers are in that series for varying reasons. WSB. Some riders miss out due to not finding the funding for a team place or racing in other series for better money. MotoGP. See WSB. So what is your definition of a proper World Championship then Parsloes?
