Wait and see how Kenneth performs this week-end before you all jump on his back. Kenneth is the innocent part of this Wild-card thing and he has the doctors improval to ride, so what else is he supposed to do ? Turn down the wild-card ? Or go for his dream? I think the answer is quite clear. -

Bjerre Is Ready For Parken!
garf replied to Zetters's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The only reason KB is not in the GPs is because of economic-political reasons in the GP-serie. And what do I mean with that : In the GPs we year after year see riders who has no place in the GPs, but because there has to be riders in the serie from all the different countries staging a GP, there is no room for all the topriders. Technically you can not call the GP-serie for a Word Championship !! Furthermore KB was excluded unfairly in the Qual-final in Vojens last year, while second but in a take over on the outside (if I remembers right). Btw the Copenhagen Wild Card has never ever been MK's. If so he had got it! ! ! ! -

No you are quite right. He has only been in two semifinals, which is almost more than your top rider has! ! ! ! -

OK! Lasse and family were a bit upset of the delay as they were going to Holsted as well. But I believe they managed it anyway. I saw Vibeke on the telly. -

Hya Doug! Great pics as usual. Especially the serie of Ulrik's crash is great. Must be a good camera you have. cya ps were you at Korskro as well ? -
Watch out for Lasse Bjerre. According to his homepage he has wiped out a 14 year old track record set by Hans Andersen. If he continues this progress, he will be one of the "top-dogs" in 5-6 years.

What happens if a rider is injured and can't participate in some GPs ? Can he be exchanged with another ? I have Bjarne on my team, and apparently he is injured. -

http://www.dk4.dk used to stream the GPs, but I don't know they still do. -
Hya Doug! I came a little too late to see all of the interview stuff in the telly. But I heard Ole O. say that they were going for a second GP in Denmark in Vojens.
-
Isn't there a minimum age for riding the 500 ccm bikes ?
-
Sorry Doug! I'm afraid I was to fast on "the trigger" here. You have some "young guns" on your list. Would have been interesting to see tha line-up in the GPs.
-
I actually do think that the postings all were on what they tink IMG would choose. Not the riders they wanted in the circus. IMO you can't call it a World Championship as long as some competitors are selected because of political and economic reasons, and not because they actual are within the 15 best riders.

The Final Gp Wildcard Spot Goes To........
garf replied to Brummie Boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hear hear. But there is to much politics in the decissions, and having 4 Danes in already, Kenneth is really up against all odds. -
I have never understood why this circus is called the World Championship. IMO there is too much economy politics in the way they are giving the wild cards (WC). If they did put 7 WC to be won into the challenge, I bet a lot more of the "established GP riders" would be participating. Just look at some of those who will most likely end outside no 8. They are already so sure of getting a permanent WC that they don't bother to qualify the right way.
-
In fact it would have been the same as KB most probably would have scored at least 2 points, giving him 12 in total. Then there would not have been any race-off and Bjarne would not have been in. So still only 2 Danes! ! !
-
BTW, why did they use that format last night. I was hoping for the format from the GPs with 2 semis and a final.
-
Actually I think the ref. bottled it big time in the heat where KB lost his permanent GP 2008 participation. I've seen the incident several times on the TV now, and as I see it it should at least have been all 4 back. Poor, very poor decission.
-
It is sunny and a little windy. I'm about 10 kms from the track so . . . We will bring some blanchets to keep us warm at the meeting tonight. COME ON KB. BTW. Anyone got a score-sheet to print out ?
-
No-one can tell what is lying behind some eventual reactions in the past weeks from Kenneth, but as stated below, then Kenneth is not doing worse than the other riders in the team. The teammates are just som wooshies and the fans are hystericly reacting on something they don't know anything about. It is the team-coach that sets the team !
-
Well said. Just what I think as well. Kenneth is not a dirty rider.
-
Yep, he won, but only because Kenneth Bjerre got a puncture on his rear wheel on the third lap while leading by several bike length.
