  1. Steve, ignore him. Everyone reading the thread knows he is trolling. However, because you always respond they become equally annoyed with you. Fred wants you to respond, that's what trolls do. All you need to do is completely ignore his posts and it will drive him crazy.
  2. At least their 'chat' is speedway related. As regards this meeting Wolves top five should prove far too strong for Poole ensuring a comfortable three points. There is an outside chance of a pt for Poole if Klindt has his gating gloves on and Newman hits the deck running but I can't really see it. Their only hope is the track rides like it did in the second half of the Swindon meeting where it was predominantly the outside line working.
  3. This post really doesn't belong in this thread.
  4. I think you will find Steve criticised Woffinden a lot during his poor 2014 season for Wolves. It's not his fault he has (so far) been proved correct regarding KK this season.
  5. That would be a ridiculous move for Swindon at this point. He's going to be on a very low average and a spell at reserve will soon bring his confidence back. He should also look to get a ride in the Premier League to bolster confidence too. Swindon will be able to strengthen when the new averages are out I'm sure.
  6. Whereas I thought Heat 12 summed up just how bad Ellis was. There was noting breathtaking about that race in all honesty, Schlein made a total hash of the first two turns before making his way past two junior riders. Ellis was then so utterly slow and inept he gave up a lead of 30 metres or so in a lap and a half as he tootled around the curb and allowed Schlein to simply ride by in the dirt on the outside without breaking sweat. He won with ease as well. CVS also agrees with the change citing fans complaining that a pt had been lost.
  7. Because it was nowhere near as good as the system that replaced it.. now partially ruined by the change made as others have alluded too. Thorssell was fine for Heat 15, but Schlein was never going to score in that race. He was a long, long way behind both Morris and Doyle in the earlier clashes.
  8. Jesus. How many times now have you said 'This is what did me in'. You were done in before any of these things you keep latching on to. Staggers me though that someone continues to frequent a forum regarding something they consistently tell us they have no interest in.
  9. How many times did you 'get yourself to Belle Vue' last season out of interest?
  10. Correct, and his press releases don't back up what you are saying so you're not helping yourself. No, your opinion is quite frankly, in this case, utterly irrelevant and factually incorrect. In an interview regarding the World Cup, Woffinden stated he was taking a year out. The World Cup for 2016 had already taken place so a year out meant he would be sitting out the World Cup in 2017. It's perfectly simple for anyone to understand. There is no interpretation involved. Now, we have two options here, either a: you're not very bright which I'm sure isn't the case or b: you're twisting it to how you see fit.
  11. Come on Fred, you need some new material, at least put some effort into your fishing
  12. What whims are they? There is no evidence he made any demands at all, that is just certain folk jumping to conclusions. He may have done, he may not. He may have asked for input which is perfectly reasonable, that may have been taken the wrong way by the BSPA. He may have demanded to choose his partner or he wouldn't ride, that would be unreasonable. The BSPA may have had further discussions and decided after approaching him to see if he was available that he shouldn't be selected due to opting not to ride in the World Cup. There are many possible reasons.. WE don't know.
  13. I have clearly stated that none of us know the true story so jumping to conclusions one way or another is simply foolhardy.
  14. Spot on! An opinion that you had to twist what was actually said to suit what you want your opinion to be. You and others have also twisted to suit that you believe there were conditions 'imposed' by Woffinden with regards to his selection when there is no evidence to that. All we know is Woffinden ASKED for input into who his partner would be. ASKED is completely different to imposing. Seems quite a fair request too and something that takes place in many, many sports. Completely ignored as well is Woffinden's offer to help arrange practice for the riders pre-meeting and well, basically take a professional approach to the meeting in order to try and be successful... maybe that is what upset the BSPA, they'd rather just show up on the day. Now if Woffinden DID insist on choosing his partner as a condition of him riding that casts another light on the situation, we don't know that though.
  15. So you try to disprove me then quote.. "He's decided not to race in the World Cup THIS year". What happens after that remains to be seen. Unfortunately Orion, you are the one showing yourself up. I don't believe everything Woffinden says, far from it. I simply am not jumping to conclusions one way or the other. We don't know the full story of what has gone on between Woffinden and the BSPA, only what each side has said and second hand accounts. As such, I simply view it as a very unfortunate situation whereby GB are missing out on his talents and hope it will be resolved for 2018. Poor attempt at another attack. The year out he was referring too was 2017 and specifically the World Cup. GB had no other events scheduled. Of course he is looking out for No 1, you seem to think this is something unusual or unreasonable. Woffinden didn't chase a spot in the World games, lest you forget, the BSPA approached him and then decided not to select him. All the rest is once again both sides of the argument trying to apply their own spin and letting their biases seep through. Again, we don't know the full story of what has gone on between the two so none of us are in position to make judgements. What we do know is the history of the BSPA for having such problems with their top riders... whether that is the case this time, maybe, maybe not.
  16. It would be a top post, if it wasn't made up. He clearly stated that he was taking a year out at the time. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/2016/august/speedway-woffinden-to-sit-out-britains-world-team-efforts/ Let's not let the truth get in the way of biases though eh? Now what will transpire in the future is open to conjecture, that 'year' may well turn into more. Time will tell.
  17. Very good point. Something else that most seem to be missing. Tai has never asked to be 'handed the reins'. He offered to BUY the rights. That's not talk, that's having the belief and confidence to put your money where your mouth is. Finally, unlike Messrs Richardson, Nicholls and Wigg, Tai hasn't said he won't ride for GB again as some seem to believe. All he ever stated was he was not doing the World Cup this year. At least he gave ample notice to both the BSPA and fans.. unlike a certain American who didn't bother to show up last year.
  18. The difference is quite clear. Nicholls, Richardson, Wigg and Loram never had a lucrative 'individual' meeting being staged on their home track in Poland (or any other country). So your point is completely moot. As for 'trying to get selected'. The BSPA approached Tai, not the other way round.
  19. 2 x World Champion Raised hundreds of thousands for Charity. That's action. Failed speedway rider (or claims to be) Bottles opportunity to speak to Tai direct. That's all talk.
  20. I think what Gavan means is he isn't disappointed in Woffinden. There's a difference.
  21. Indeed he could and if he was greedy and money was all he was interested in he could do that. However, he'd rather not have the hassle of travelling backwards and forwards, racing on all different nights of the week and work to a set schedule. As do most in his position. It doesn't work for some, Freddie Lindgren for example prefers to stay busy. That is the choice that British speedway has taken, it's not Tai's fault. The not riding in British Final and for Team GB are different issues and yes I am disappointed that he doesn't. However, none of us are in the position to make a proper judgement of that situation as despite what some may try and claim we don't know the full story.
  22. On current averages, any injury to the top 5 I believe Woffinden would slot in nicely. Imagine the meltdown if Howarth took a knock late in the season and was replaced by him... Edited to add: Not that we want that, but we have someone on standby if necessary.. assume rules will still allow replacement for genuine injured riders.
  23. You're forgetting, this is the year we are meant to win. Last year was some freak anomaly.
