That would work.. in killing of the excitement of the sport even more.

The thread has quite clearly shown they DO NOT feel the same White Knight. You seem incapable of understanding the tac sub system was in operation for nigh on 50 years with no issue. You attended for much of that with no issue. Now the sport has LESS contrived results, you decide there is an issue. Pretty much everyone on this thread has stated they prefer the old tac sub system and would welcome it's return and their reasons have been clearly documented. The addition of tactics to the match, the joy of seeing a lesser rider beating a heat leader tac sub to name just two. It was introduced as a cost saving measure, Ipswich were one of the driving forces behind it. Tac sub rides mean extra rides for heat leaders, the bigger earners, and of course extra points.
-
There's no need for a vote. It's pretty unanimous that people prefer the old system. However, I can guarantee, if we went back to the system of being 6pts behind and a tac sub can be brought in it won't be long before someone takes a friend and they fell over laughing when it happened.

Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
BWitcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He was 'unable' was he? Did he have a medical certificate? You're saying he was completely incapable of riding a bike? Yet reports are he was offered a bike for the meeting? The simple facts are, Bjerre refused to ride. Let's put it this way, had the second match of the double header also been featuring Leicester, do you think Bjerre would have been 'unable' to ride then? -
Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
BWitcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Did he ride? No, therefore he refused. The reasons can be discussed but the end result is the same. He was booked to ride and refused to do so. -
Or he has just been unlucky with how the results have fallen in several GP's, missing out on semi's with a score of 9, another semi with a score of 8 and his lowest score of the series so far was 7 and that included a tapes exclusion! In reality he's been the most consistent rider and only needed to step it up a tiny bit to produce a result like he did at the weekend.

Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
BWitcher replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I have no issue with your boy as I clearly stated. Again though, interesting you find the very thing you do 'utterly disgusting'. All I have done is paraphrase the bile you have been spewing for years. If you find it so reprehensible, stop spewing it. -
As said earlier, I don't think you'll find anyone who prefers the current system, me included for all those reasons you stated.

Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,

I have no issue with your son, indeed he has my utmost respect as a rider. It's interesting that you label my rant 'pathetic' when it is your ongoing rant I summarised. -
Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
BWitcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The title is accurate. Or did Lasse Bjerre ride in the meeting? -
We're not discussing an opinion. Your reasoning is wrong. You won't attend the sport because you feel a rule is unfair. Yet you would advocate and return to the sport if an older MORE unfair rule was brought back in. If that's not 'silly' I don't know what is.
-
I grant you the right to do as you will, but reserve the right to say it's silly (it's actually way beyond silly) when your reasoning is completely wrong.

Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
BWitcher replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's really quite simple. If it wasn't for talentless Aussies and Kiwis being brought over to Britain and having money, sponsorship, vans, engines, accommodation, private planes, and £5000 per point thrown at them Speedibee's son would be a multiple World Champion by now. That's before we get on to the ludicrous situation of support being given to the development of the up and coming young riders when 30 and above Midland League riders are being neglected. -
I'm not silly enough to boycott the sport on the basis of the current rule being unfair however.....
-
I don't think anyone disagrees with that at all. It's only when certain folks start piping up how 'unfair' the current system is and advocate a return to the old one based on fairness that there is debate. I much prefer the old system too.

Greg Hancock Hurt?
BWitcher replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To me he also seems to have lost a significant edge to his riding. He is giving way or shutting off when things get tight, similar to Nicolai Klindt after he had a bad injury. If the bottle starts to go it can be a very hard road back. -
Swindon Vs Wolves 31/8/17
BWitcher replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why are we discussing Howarth v Worrall? The discussion should be Howarth/Schlein v Worrall + Masters/Worrall and Riss x 2. Masters doesn't appear to be fully fit so it for sure makes Wolves weaker. That of course is countered by Swindon being weaker at reserve which is bad luck rather than self inflicted like Wolves. -
Wolves. V. Belle Vue. 28/8/17. 6pm

Hi Fred. -
You seem to be talking about something very different. You are right, very few (although some are) interested in the nuances of the engines or indeed how they work, however they ARE interested in whether a rider is on a GM, Jawa or GTR. Naming 'previous' GM engines is something totally different, simply the make of engine is where the interest lies. I've done as you suggested anyway, I've asked 19 people so far who are speedway fans, every single one of them could name several tuners and the riders that use them. Every single one of them is interested.
-
Sunderland. Your argument ends right there. It matters not whether you are with 'Scarra' or not. It's 2017, not 1974. At least 80% of the crowd would be gone at the conclusion of the final race of the league meeting, and that's being generous. Reducing matches to 13 heats is one of the most ridiculous insane ideas possible. Only speedway fans could come up with something so ludicrous.
-
No it wouldn't give better value for money. The overwhelming majority aren't interested in the '2nd half'.
-
I'd strongly say you are way, way out of touch if you think 90% have no interest. From as far back as I was a kid I and all those who stood around me were interested in what engine a rider was using and who was the tuner. Carl Blomfeldt back in the early 90's was the big name of course. Neil Evitts enjoyed success with Gary Havelock then had the disastrous spell working with Mikael Karlsson/Max. I remember Sean Wilson sorting engines for Adam just before the play-offs in 2009. Michael Lee had a spell with Tai and of course there have been many more. Quite what 'baby offset' has to do with fans being interested in the engine TYPE being used and who the tuner is I don't know, you're talking about something entirely different there. You have zero evidence to back up your claims, whereas this forum provides ample evidence of engines and tuners being discussed. Anyway, the point is, Tai has not at any stage in any GP looked 'fairly uncompetitive'. His lowest score in any round was 7 and that included a tapes infringement. He has simply thrown in a bad ride at the wrong time in a number of rounds, been unlucky enough to finish on 9 and miss the semis etc and rode some strange lines in certain races after looking super fast on a different line in an earlier race.

Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
BWitcher replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not really, as Tai only missed the semi's three times, scoring 9, 8 and 7 (with a tapes exclusion). Neither Doyle or Janowski failed to negotiate a semi, that's where the key difference lies. The point I was trying to make was there wasn't a lot between them and it only needed a slight improvement from Woffinden to compensate. -
Greg Hancock Hurt?

You can challenge his pick if you wish, as I said before to you, there is a children's section for you to do that. -
Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
BWitcher replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Tai has actually been more consistent than Doyle through the GP season, he's averaging more pts per race. He's just had some bad luck and made a couple of poor choices which has cost him rides in semis/finals.
