Likely someone just uploaded and it's not been noticed.

What has that to do with GoSpeed? Surely someone uploading meetings to Youtube is bad for the trackside video companies?

Misunderstood the question entirely. Sam Ermolenko was by far the best rider in the world in 1993 and as such was a worthy World Champion and would almost certainly have won the World Title under a GP system that year. As for your reference to him not being excluded, that's just the luck on the day which can be talked about in many cases over the years. You seem to be forgetting though, had he been excluded, everything after that changes, who is to say he would still have run a last in his final race, one in which he flew from the start. Far from obvious. Havelock was dominant in that particular year, winning or finishing on the rostrum in most, if not all, the qualifying rounds. Again under a GP system he would have been right up there in that particular year.

Yes it was mentioned earlier in the thread. Mr Adams was the one who hadn't done his homework as Wolves didn't have the choice last year against Poole as they came 3rd, Poole 2nd. Tatum was quite correct that when given the choice, Wolves have chosen to have the 1st leg at home. I got the impression Adams wanted the first leg at home but had been over ruled by the riders, hence the way he responded.

Well, he'd be telling the truth if so as I'm sure he couldn't quite see them from Dublin!

How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?
BWitcher replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The two posters don't follow the sport at all. One has confirmed on numerous threads he hasn't the slightest clue about current speedway, it's teams or the riders. He is in absolutely no position to discuss the sport's problems as he stopped going almost 15 years ago due to relocating and hasn't paid a jot of interest since. His only posts on this forum are discussing things back in the day. Yes, there is a place for that, but it has zero relevance to a discussion of 'Are you losing interest in speedway'. The other is someone who spends his time running down the sport and this forum. Yourself, that's a completely different issue, you do follow the sport, you are up to speed with all teams, riders, developments and if a keen passionate fan such as yourself finds his interest waning, that's a worry. My point stands however, if you spend a lot of time on this forum reading all the whingers you will fall out of love with the sport a hell of a lot quicker. I know that from personal experience. -
Care to name any of these commentators?

How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?
BWitcher replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Too much time on this forum listening to the whinges and whining will certainly make you begin to lose interest. Especially when it's populated by folks such as the last two posters on a thread asking if they are 'losing interest' when they lost interest 10+ years ago. Sure the sport has issues, but personally, I can't wait for the next GP and equally can't wait to get to England for the play-offs. However, please fix the doubling up issue for next year so teams can have a regular 1-7!!- 272 replies

Adams again making a fool of himself. Radio WM commentator mentions it is a change of strategy for Wolves.. Adams again makes his claim that the interviewer has a short memory, referring to the Poole semi last year. I wish the interviewers were stronger and put him in his place. He clearly has no strategy behind the choice, which he would be quick to state if it was his idea.
-
Except he didn't put him in his place at all, Adams simply made himself look a fool to anyone with knowledge. Tatum correctly stated that Wolverhampton have always CHOSEN to ride in the home leg first. Adams tried to claim Tatum had a short memory and quoted last seasons semi final when Wolves rode the home leg 2nd. Of course, Wolves didn't have the choice in that meeting, Poole did courtesy of finishing 2nd. Plus there was an issue with track availability at Monmore I believe meaning they had to have the 2nd leg? Either way, Tatum was right, Adams was wrong. I get the impression from Adams reaction he didn't want the legs that way round but the riders over ruled him.
-
Think you've misread this one Beowful.. SS was replying to a Starman special, who suggested that your attitude was the reason Wolves don't win anything.
-
That's assuming Wolves pick the home leg 2nd.. they usually don't. Do we know when the choices are made?

He was also very vocal when track conditions weren't to his liking and refused to take the 15 metre tac rides. -

People really do have short memories the times they bring up Crump. Leigh Adams you might have a point. -

No they won't, the only person's reputation you will tarnish is your own, although that's pretty well shot to pieces. You're known as an Aussie hater because of your continued rantings about them. There are quite literally hundreds of xenophobic posts from yourself regarding Australians and other foreign riders. And no doubt realised, it wasn't libel as you have made your views very clear over the years. -

It's been done many times before? -
I can remember it, but it just some folk saying "Sky introduced it" with nothing to back it up. The thread also shows that Matt Ford stated it was introduced as a cost saving measure too and also states that Ipswich were the ones who championed it. Hence my question, where have you got the information that it was Sky that introduced it? I'm not saying that they didn't, we don't know that for sure, what we do know is we have several different promoters on record as saying it was introduced as a cost cutting exercise.
-
It depends who you believe Fred. Do you have a source for this claim to back it up? I can categorically state that CVS stated at a Wolverhampton talk-in it was introduced as a cost saving measure and the idea was put forward by Ipswich. I'm pretty sure, but may be wrong, that Colin Pratt was also present at that talk-in and confirmed. Of course, they may have been telling some porkies, but there you go. If it is true regarding Sky, they are out of the picture now, so no reason at all to continue with the 'double tr bollox' as you like to call it.
