And still you persist with your fantasy. Never ever in the history of the sport have the rules changed every other week. That is fact.
-
There is no argument. I simply call it as it is, if someone posts utter nonsense I'll say so. It says a lot about the poster when they continue to try and claim that utter nonsense is true.
-
You can't get the detail because THERE WERE NO RULES that changed every other week.
-
Bless, of course you did. So none of them care about the score, who scored, top scorers. None of them have fantasy teams etc. You're talking absolute rubbish. You see, I can provide facts, you just concoct unproven fantasy stories. Fantasy Premier League.. just ONE game, over 5 million players.
-
Name one. You can't. There were no rules that changed 'every other week'. The conversation never happened.
-
Let us hear the reasoning behind this 'opinion' of yours? Statistics is a multi BILLION dollar industry in sports alone due to it's popularity with MILLIONS. Quite clearly it is not 'unfashionable'. As said, you are wrong.

Cardiff. Next question? -
You might wish to learn what an opinion is. You have stated that having an interested in stats is 'unfashionable or socially inept'. That is incorrect, therefore you are wrong. Nothing to do with opinion. Now, if you'd simply said it didn't interest you, that's your opinion and is fair enough.
-
Exactly.. and some of these stats could be immensely useful to team managers as well..
-
Once again you are utterly wrong in your observation. Your constant reference to 'geeky' is way out of date. Stats are massively popular. Every single sport on TV the coverage is laden with stats. Fantasy Sports which is immensely popular is all stats. Definition of geek: an unfashionable or socially inept person. Doesn't quite fit the bill I'm afraid.
-
I've taken many new folk to the sport over the years. Not once, ever has any one of them questioned filling a programme in. Indeed they've all been keen to do it and found it very useful to look back to see how riders had done earlier in the meeting. The other important aspect of course is the complete lack of scoreboards at speedway. Most sports you have something somewhere telling you the score.
-
Of course they did. What rules were these 'intricate' rules that they were enquiring about then that change 'every other week'. Feel free to name just one.
-
The claim will be it was never officially ratified.. Or perhaps they will vote on how to treat such riders.. some teams will be in favor of a particular way and maybe a casting vote can be swung by agreeing to loan a rider in exchange for a vote...
-
The reality is quite the opposite. Speedway fans might fill out programmes but in terms of knowledge of statistics for the most part they haven't a clue. You're way, way out of date if you think it's somehow uncool to be interested in statistics. Stats are everywhere now and the masses are into them. It is an area that speedway fails to capitalise on.
-
Agreed, but we get many posters who delight in their tales of newcomers and explaining rules that have no relevance to them.. Of course it's all a figment of their imagination.
-
No, don't be daft. You immediately tell them about a one over 8 rule or that Scott Nicholls can't ride in the Championship. They then fall over themselves laughing and leave before watching a race (having paid full entry fee).
-
Correct. Let's face it, if someone completely new approaches you at speedway and asks about the rules, that is what you are going to tell them. Why we keep getting folk making up stories like the one above is beyond me. Unless "Mr Clemens" truly is just plain rude. I note he relates to the Shay so we talking way back to the early 80's at the latest.. I'd be interested to know what rules were changing 'every week' back then?
-
And the basics are all a newcomer needs to know.
-
Yet another ridiculous post. So you told a newcomer 'not to worry about the rules'? The rules are simple. 15 races, 2 riders from each side, 3pts for 1st, 2 for 2nd etc. That is ALL a newcomer needs to know.
-
Remains to be seen if the league was stronger last year. If all teams build close to the 42.5pt limit, we may be short of a couple of big names but overall the league this year will be stronger.
-
Unfortunately Thorssell should never have been under consideration for this season once the 8pt rule was introduced. He has an average that is inflated by anything from 1-2pts from riding at number 4. Once Lindgren wasn't being brought back they should have gone with Masters at No 1 and used those extra pts to have a very solid 1-7.
-
Best wishes to Starman. Hopefully it can be sorted quickly.
-
You're not a speedway fan now? 7,898 posts on a forum of a sport you're not a fan of? I assume these means your post was made in jest and we weren't meant to take it seriously.. all good then!
-
Yes, I know. The news is, there aren't any Championship teams that are stronger. Glad we've established that.
-
Lindgren hasn't been forced out by the rules. If Wolves could afford him he would be in the team. Unless CVS and PA have lost the plot enough to think a No 4 is better than one of the worlds top 5.
