He is, as he is wrong and proven so without a single element of doubt. Or perhaps he knows more than the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention), ONS (Office of National Statistics), WHO (World Health Organsiation) and every single other medical organisation in the world who state they are transmitted in the same way.
-
And you've been shown that you are 100% wrong, so it doesn't matter how many times you say it. As per the CDC. HOW IT SPREADS Both COVID-19 and flu can spread from person-to-person, between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Both are spread mainly by droplets made when people with the illness (COVID-19 or flu) cough, sneeze, or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. It may be possible that a person can get infected by physical human contact (e.g. shaking hands) or by touching a surface or object that has virus on it and then touching his or her own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. Both flu virus and the virus that causes COVID-19 may be spread to others by people before they begin showing symptoms, with very mild symptoms or who never developed symptoms (asymptomatic). Differences While COVID-19 and flu viruses are thought to spread in similar ways, COVID-19 is more contagious among certain populations and age groups than flu. Also, COVID-19 has been observed to have more superspreading events than flu. This means the virus that causes COVID-19 can quickly and easily spread to a lot of people and result in continuous spreading among people as time progresses. Meanwhile the WHO tells us: How are COVID-19 and influenza viruses similar? Firstly, COVID-19 and influenza viruses have a similar disease presentation. That is, they both cause respiratory disease, which presents as a wide range of illness from asymptomatic or mild through to severe disease and death. Secondly, both viruses are transmitted by contact, droplets and fomites. As a result, the same public health measures, such as hand hygiene and good respiratory etiquette (coughing into your elbow or into a tissue and immediately disposing of the tissue), are important actions all can take to prevent infection. ....................................................................................................................................... So in summary, you are completely and utterly wrong in your assertion that their differences are why the flu/pneumonia numbers have not changed in the past few months, whilst Covid has. If anything, the fact that Covid is supposed to spread easier renders your suggestion even more invalid.

WAS.. That isn't the case now though is it?
-
What horror? It ended months ago. It's just the government, scaremongering media and idiots who think everyone is dropping dead still that prolong it. You've just presented the entire reason why the current restrictions are in place.. not because they are necessary.. but to drive you to a vaccine.
-
The rules only needed amending when certain clubs (and mine was one of them) weren't in position to take advantage that season. Very co-incidental.
-
Spot on. It was downhill from there for the Elite League, culminating in the closure of one of the sports longest running, most successful and best supported teams.
-
Correct.. the pts limit was not even an issue. It was Pawlicki.. and the conversion for riders moving up.
-
Was there not also a change in the rules which gave Pawlicki a higher average?
-
Bless. Sadly, flu/pneumonia figures haven't fallen, in fact they've remained fluctuating around their normal levels.. So the precautions have been shown to have done nothing to stop the spread of viruses.
-
The bar that has been set means there can never be crowds in stadiums again. Until the government admits they were wrong.
-
Yes, very jealous of seeing crowds fall year on year with scandal after scandal, almost always involving Poole. As has been said, you reap what you sew.
-
Just go back and read the threads at the time. Ford was the biggest cancer in the sport, hundreds, if not thousands walked away from it in disgust at his actions season upon season.
-
That was one of the reasons yes.
-
Rule changes were agreed to that benefited certain clubs, ones that wouldn't normally have past. It was you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Lakeside were infamous for rolling over to Poole.
-
Now you're getting there. Ford bought the votes he needed by pandering to the likes of Lakeside and Eastbourne.. who basically dragged the sport down and destroyed it.
-
It's already been admitted the real death figure is lower. The excess deaths in the UK are now lower than they were for flu in 2017/18.
-
No prizes for guessing how many of those will end up actually being ill...
-
You are correct.. although the use of the word 'tolerated' I am unsure of. What would have to change dramatically is the government. It has nothing to do with the virus. That HAS changed dramatically.. it is now a minor, almost insignificant issue (in the grand scheme of things). Deaths from viruses are at their lowest level for five years. In other words there hasn't been a safer time to attend a sporting event in the last five years (likely longer but don't have the figures). By the time October rolls round, deaths will have increased, we're heading into winter. So essentially, if you can't have crowds now... there is no justification that you can EVER have crowds.
-
Yeah, all this indiscipline has caused the deaths to go down and down and down. Latest official figures, week ending 24th July: Death Certificate with Covid: 217 (down from 295 previous week) Death Certificate with flu/pneumona: 1173 (up from previous week).
-
Incorrect again. The deaths involving flu/pneuomonia have continued along their normal levels. There has been no dramatic drop (barely a drop at all) regardless of all the restrictions... whilst Covid deaths have plummeted. Had these restrictions been as effective as is claimed, flu/pneumonia deaths would have fallen as well. It is a virus that transmits in exactly the same way.. but we are told, not as easily! Week Ending July 17th, death certificates involving Covid were 295... flu/pneumonia was over 1100. There should be no worries and inhibitions because deaths are at their lowest point in the last five years.
-
Because of their 'poor behaviour'. Just listen to yourself! So utterly indoctrinated. Putting aside of course that I have at no stage suggested that guidelines should not be complied with.
-
The answer is people need to start voicing their objection to the ridiculous totalitarian restrictions being put in place. At a time when less people are dying in the UK than they have in the last five years.
-
It's clearly time football took action as black players are vastly over represented in terms of players in the Premier League.
-
You're suggesting the sport of speedway is racist? Examples?

I don't need to do anything, it's doing that job all by itself..
