  1. Still who gates. Let's see if Klindt flies out here..
  2. He could have gated 2nd time round, didn't as it happened. Just seen Heat 2, Covatti won riding very wide... Poole keep gating they'll win at a canter.
  3. If that's the case, and Poole keep gating, this will get embarrassing. Unlucky for Wolves there as Becker was winning easy and Schlein looked like coming into 2nd?
  4. When Klindt is winning of Gate 1 it's time to pack up. I had a lot of faith in this Wolves side, even with recent results.. but this is just pathetic.
  5. Because almost every single time there is no grip on the inside, Wolves lose. Almost every single time there is plenty of grip, half of Poole's team can't ride it.. been that way for 15 years +. Monmore becomes a very easy track to ride when its super slick.
  6. It is completely dependent on the track. If it is how it was in the last home meet with nothing on the inside out of two, Poole will batter us. If there is grip on the inside, Wolves will win.
  7. If he's of an outside gate he can.. not very often from the inside gates.
  8. Who is arguing whether star riders make good racing or not? I simply pointed out that great racing doesn't seem to produce great crowds, strange as that may be.
  9. Racing is pretty irrelevant. Belle Vue proves that, as have the other tracks that are meant to have the best racing but still don't pack the crowds in. As for top riders.. you're right.. all those who have been saying for the past 15 years that crowds would drop every time the standard on offer was lowered were wrong.. the crowds haven't fallen at all Unfortunately, the sport has sunk to such low levels it can no longer afford the top riders and as others have said it's unlikely the effect would be enough at this stage to rescue things so you are partially correct at this stage. As for your final sentence, you do realise how hypocritical that is? I'm not discussing with you because you don't have the same opinion is effectively what you are saying..
  10. Bad as tonight has been for Wolves, Luke Becker has been excellent again and Heat 14 may yet prove to be a massive turning point in the season with the ride by Morris.
  11. TBF.. when Klindt gates he usually wins.. complete confidence rider and at the moment, he's confident. Morris riding like the other version of Klindt we've seen over the years!
  12. Never mind it looking good for 'BT'. Utterly irrelevant. It's the sport of speedway it should be 'made to look good for'. Week after week, year after year of empty stadiums for TV meetings sends one message to the casual viewer... Speedway is not even worth considering. Far too late for the penny to ever drop now.
  13. How do you 'fluke' a top 3 place in the final? Surely you must 'fluke' your way through the other qualifying rounds as well. That's a lot of fluking. If riders can't beat those you deem to be an 'embarrassment' then they don't deserve to qualify anyway.
  14. You're really not grasping this. Wolves have a side built of four riders who are 2nd/3rd heat leaders. They don't have a genuine No 1, so whomever is in that position will see their scores drop. The No 5 drops somewhat too, but not to the same extreme. Those at 3/4 make hay.. Thorssell did so ( and is doing again).. Masters has done so and so has Schlein. This year with Morris also in the mix we have two riders at 3 and 4 who can rattle up the pts (or so the plan was). So no, we're most definitely not expecting the No 1 to be the top scorer in this side, quite the opposite, he'd be closer to 4th best. Those scores for Nicholls were from 5/6 rides a meeting... with RR in place so he's riding with a weaker partner in most races AND had the benefit of riding in Heats 12 and 14. Thorssell would be scoring 2-3pts a meeting more from the same rides on average. So to clarify, Scott didn't do anything wrong, he rode to his level. That level however is below that which we need from that position to be successful.
  15. Take a look at the average Morris achieved when riding at the 3 and 4 position. It dropped when he moved to No 1... same as with Thorssell.. same as with Masters.. same as with Schlein. Yet all of them are still higher than Nicholls, who hasn't had to ride in the much harder position. As for 8 points a meeting.. that doesn't cut it from 3 or 4.... and no Nicholls doesn't get you that.. unless he gets 5 rides.
  16. He can afford to drop by a couple of pts and still be at the level of Nicholls. I don't foresee any problems.
  17. Because Morris is far better if he gets backs to what he is capable of.
  18. Of course, because he is at No 1. We have four riders who are between no 2 and 3 heat leaders. Whichever of the four rides at 1 will struggle. The guy at 3 will score big. It should also be 4... if Morris doesn't begin to fire we are in trouble. Soon Thorssell will be back at 1, Masters likely at 3 and he'll start rattling big points again. The hope is Thorssell can become a No 1.
  19. You're right about the injury at Monmore, catapulted, literally bouncing on his head. It did take him some time to truly get back to his best after that. Yes, it was Bjerre in the semi at Belle Vue. Bjerre was excluded.
