  1. In principle its a good idea as it makes riders work and earn the extra points. Sadly some riders used to refuse to take the ride, citing it as 'dangerous'. It certainly never bothered Peter Karlsson
  2. So you prefer a more unfair system? Its amusing, we get this every time. Complaints of the current system being unfair and how we should revert back to the old way of doing it which was a hell of a lot more unfair.
  3. Yes it is fair. The rules are the same for all teams (most of the time ). Of course you might prefer to watch more meetings like Poole V Lakeside, which tactical riders and the league scoring system go a long way towards preventing happening on a more frequent basis.
  4. So you want to lower the quality even further. We've seen the success of that business model over the last 5 or 6 years in the Elite League.
  5. So you feel that in order to cut costs they should have scrapped the nominated heats and thus reduced the value the paying customer is/was getting even further?
  6. Well you can't legislate for Agent Watt
  7. It wasn't a rumour, it was confirmed by a number of promoters at the time. Actually Heat 13 makes perfect sense as the higher earners will be beating each other.
  8. Lot of flaws in your argument there. If you went from 14 up to losing by 4 then your balanced team didn't get the job done. It's likely for that to have happened only one tac ride would have been used, giving a maximum of an extra 3 pts, so you would still have lost anyway in your scenario. I do understand your point however, the tactical system has always favored the top heavy teams. It favors the losing team less now than it has ever done since tacticals were introduced though.
  9. Are you living in some sort of parallel universe where the nation is clamouring for speedway to be on tv?
  10. League needs a sponsor, lets get em involved!
  11. Ah we have the typical excuses being trotted out here of people failing to follow simple instructions. Its YOUR fault if you exceed baggage allowance, you're told when you book, you're emailed about it over and over afterwards. Its YOUR fault if you don't print off your ticket. You're told when you book, you're emailed about it over and over afterwards. I agree with the charges, if people can't cope with simple things such as 'reading' then that's their own issue. I would rather pay £15 with the CHOICE of if I want to put baggage in the hold than pay £250 with British Airways and have the baggage in the hold thrown in. OK, I decide, I'll take the baggage, I'm still only paying £40. I fly regularly, used to be every other weekend for 3 years to Portugal and back. 98% of the times with Ryanair, I think I had 1 flight that was delayed more than 20 mins. 95% of them were either bang on time or early. I check in online, arrived at aiport about 50 mins before flight, no need to stand in a line, straight to security, board the plane, front row seat and away we go. 3 times had to fly with British Airways, more than 10 times the cost, one was cancelled, the other two were 3 hour delays. But hey, I got a meal! Standard practice on any flight I've been on, including international flight when went to Canada earlier in the year. I'd say it was negligent if they didn't do that. You can add up all the charges, pay for every extra service you need (which I would say 80% of passengers don't) and still pay less than 50% of the price more often than not of an equivalent BA/Lufthansa flight etc. For short haul standard class flights there's no difference either apart from the 'meal', which is more than countered by the greater probability of you being delayed.
  12. Ah more claptrap I see. It's amazing how many people fall for the spin put out there by the British Airways of the world. Always amuses me that folk moan about Ryanair effectively giving them a choice of not paying for services you don't want.
  13. Jacob Thorssell suspected broken arm. Could be a big blow to Wolves as he was in superb form, particularly at home. I think Klindt is too high so Pontus Aspgren the likely replacement? Best wishes of course to Jacob and hopefully the injury won't be as bad as feared and a replacement won't be needed.
  14. Let's hope Agent Skornicki understands the job required
  15. Steve, you keep harping on about his time at Poole. He had 2 matches, that's TWO matches directly after his injury. It's not like he rode for a couple of months and was a flop.
  16. To an extent.. and as they are only on a couple of times a year it's a novelty. Still poor in the overall scheme of things.
  17. Aww bless. School be starting again soon. Shhhh
  18. It's another example of the lies and corrupt manipulation from Poole this season.
  19. Stevebrum is going to be happy! I don't mind the signing to be honest, should do a decent job at No 2. Get his gating gloves on for the playoffs and we could be in business.
  20. All this just beggars belief. It's just so simple, yet 14 years in they haven't grasped it. TV meetings should be at vastly reduced prices, even give away hundreds of free tickets. Pack the terraces. Make tv matches the ones to be AT not the ones to stay at home for. Very quickly you would find it a lot easier to attract sponsorship for tv meetings. A guaranteed big crowd in the stadium, a vibrant looking product being shown on tv. The sheep mentality would soon kick in, some of those sat watching at home will think they are missing out and look to go themselves... NOBODY is going to be attracted when they see one man and his dog watching the current meetings.
  21. Spot on Oldace. Somehow they managed to take the most powerful marketing too of all and use it adversely. Takes some doing, but they did it.
  22. 40/1??? Where on earth were you looking. 200/1 was his price! Correct he was.
