  1. Or more precisely Oldace, it may well still have been staged before cutoff but it would have meant Poole racing the full strength Belle Vue team which they absolutely wished to avoid, thus robbing the public and thus invalidating Fords excuse for postponing the Lakeside meeting.
  2. Utterly irrelevant. It didn't continue, it was conveniently halted. Perhaps we should halt football matches after an hour when the favoured team is 2-0 up?
  3. Spot on. Pretty common practice. I'm also sure that none of the Somerset riders or management wanted to see Robson or Lindgren hurt either. Blimey Tsunami, we're agreeing on something again.
  4. Interesting.. so Poole can postpone meetings on a whim and its ok because Ford is good friends with Jon Cook? In trying to defend his actions you've condemned him more than anyone else on the thread has!
  5. Little point in anything being invented or any new product anywhere with that attitude. People don't give a fig when they don't know what it is, when they don't see it presented in a good light, when they're not given the impression its cool. Change these things and more people will start to pay attention. Then, more people start paying attention because they see others paying attention. Or just do nothing and drift along...
  6. Nothing wrong with the track. Poole simply much better.
  7. Then you have the problem, not others. YOU feel disgusted. YOUR issue. If you weren't wishing the rider harm you have nothing to feel disgusted about. End of.
  8. All pointless waffle. You see most fans, riders etc don't go to a meeting assuming riders are going to be hurt every time they fall off. Riders especially. If they had ANY of those thoughts in their heads they wouldn't be racing in the first place. The managers you list, I've seen two of them do it personally. The sport needs more fans who are loud and cheer. Its full of passionless fans who don't make a peep regardless of what happens, creating a dull dead atmosphere and is part of the reason why nobody comes back. Once again people are focusing on the fall.. the fans aren't cheering because of the fall 'per se' they are cheering because it is an advantage to their team, there is nothing wrong with that in the slightest. I've seen many times in GP's when a rider has slid off allowing another by and it has shown the pit crew etc punching the air as their rider goes by. Speedway isn't the only sport either. I can remember a classic Formula 1 race from years ago involving Nigel Mansell (pretty sure it was him), in a wheel to wheel duel and the other driver crashed on the final turn. The crowd went crazy. As did Mansells pit crew. Nascar is another. As is MotoGp, where there are roars from a crowd if a rider slides off allowing another popular rider to pass. The problem is in your own heads. If you link this to wanting a rider/driver to be hurt, that's your own problem. If you have negative thoughts that riders are going to be hurt every time they slide off, that's your own problem. There will be a very very small minority who take pleasure if an opposing rider is hurt, that's a different story entirely and quite rightly should be condemned.. but the initial cheer, that's just passion and the sport needs more of it.
  9. No, I comment on what I saw, which was Heats 1-10. Please enlighten me if the other races took place which is 'what might have happened'.
  10. They're irrelevant. Not interested in what might have happened. Only what did happen.
  11. What is there to believe? Mr Rising tells us the work carried out after Heat 10 caused the track to be unrideable and it became obvious after one more race. Did anyone else witness Heat 11 in this meeting? If not, then Mr Rising is wrong.
  12. Maybe you want to speak to riders and team managers, many of whom have been seen to cheer, punch the air when a rider falls and it gives them an advantage. It's a sport, the riders are there to win, falls are part of the game. If you don't like that, don't watch it. NOBODY wants to see a rider get hurt and to suggest that cheering when a rider slides off is akin to hoping they are hurt is ridiculous and pathetic. Correct and its not done in a malicious fashion (in the vast majority of cases). Also if it is a bad crash its rare to hear cheers (although sometimes does happen, but soon goes very quiet). The cheer is for the advantage gained for the team, nothing more. There is no disrespect shown to any rider.
  13. Despise away, you are the one with the problem then, perhaps you should seek help for it. There is nothing wrong with cheering when a rider falls, its an instinctive reaction from passionate fans who want their team to win. As you despise it then you must have the opinion that said fans would like to see riders injured.. which is far far from the truth with 99.9% of fans and just demonstrates that is YOU who has the problem, not others.
  14. Perfectly normal. The only classless comments are the people who think they are cheering because they want a rider to be injured.
  15. Yes it is. And yes he could put together a competitive team.
  16. It takes 2 teams to make a meeting. Not Pooles fault Birmingham haven't shown up. It could be the greatest race track in the world, the result and racing would largely be the same. See, we can agree on something.
  17. Yes and they are enjoying it immensely. As you would be if it was your team winning.
  18. Not hating, enjoying a meeting and commenting on it. Maybe you should try it. Your posts say all that everyone needs to know about you.
  19. Not fighting mate, stated an opinion, backed it up with reasons.. the night has given even more credence to my opinion.. sadly some nutter wants to troll. He hasn't contributed anything at all the thread and once more has resorted to his usual 'say it to my face' line. Meanwhile back to the meeting.. I expected Poole to win fairly easily based on Brums performance in the semis, but I didn't expect it to be this easy!
  20. No, I have provided you with reasons as to my opinion. Reasons based on evidence we have witnessed. That's what adults do. Sadly you are unable to engage your brain to be able to do that. I look forward to your usual threats of violence in my inbox. Add Heat 10 to my evidence. King gone missing again on a night it matters.
  21. Perfectly natural given the situation, quite an instinctive reaction.
  22. Lame post says the troller. I've given examples of him bottling. There are countless more. King can be great, but there are many examples when a big meeting comes along he goes missing. Why he's never taken the next step. Let's hear your counter argument then.. if you have one.
  23. Why? King is a bottler. Fell off twice in the Semi 1st leg too. Amazing how many are surprised by this. It was to be expected.
  24. No chance, as I said after the semi, they were NOT impressive (whole team) against Wolves. The performance of Wolves No 1 guests flattered Birmingham massively... plus Tully in for Auty. They have to step up massively against Poole, as Ward will not score 7pts over 2 meetings. Thus far they aren't doing it.
