What Polski means is the news was met with disapproval from One Sport. Remember he has been telling us that no Polish venues want to stage GP's. And again, as you can see already Onesport through their various spokespeople, whom this guy is clearly one off is already looking to organise a boycott. You have to remember, OneSport is backed by the Torun owners. The Torun owners who tried to run roughshod over the sport and set their own rules last season. The PZM didn't allow that.. so not only are they targeting BSI, the PZM is also in their line of fire. Essentially they are making efforts to take over the whole sport. It will be a sad sad day for the sport should that happen.

Good god. Was he drafted by Swindon? Yes. Did he go and sign for another club KNOWING there was a clash with his commitment to Swindon? Yes Is he now riding for Swindon? No That means he has reneged. 100%. It's not even up for debate.

Ok Vince, Let's play along and for a moment let's pretend that Emil really is withdrawing from the GP series due to financial problems. This is something he would be aware of, without a doubt and would have been aware of for some time. Can you point me towards any pleas from Emil for sponsorship? Surely if he felt his World Championship hopes would be in doubt he would have said as much.. "I may not be able to compete this year due to lack of sponsorship"... you know.. attempt to actually gain more? Given his financial plight, of which he would be fully aware of, why would he upgrade his entire teams flights to New Zealand? Ashley Holloway has also offered to drive and work for free for the entire season also... again falling on deaf ears. The notion of his withdrawal being because he can't afford it is, quite simply nonsensical. -
Nobody is disputing it's the correct decision for the lad and Swindon acted professionally over it. However, the lad has made the decision to back out of his draft placement so should not now be considered this year. Loopholes such as this are the cause of so many of speedways problems.

Is he riding for the team that drafted him? No he isn't. End of discussion.

Clearly you didn't watch much of the coverage on Premier Sports then as the commentator on there most certainly did know what he was talking about. Still, no fun unless there's something to whinge about. -

What is blatantly clear is despite things staring them in the face a few people remain blissfully unaware of the power struggle that is taking place in the sport at the moment. This is a game of politics. Your theories are quite simply contradictory. If Torun felt it was beneficiary to them to have Emil riding in the World Championship he would be, it's really that simple. They call the tune, just as they did last year when they threw their toys out of the pram and refused to race in the play-off final 2nd leg. We can expect to see Sayfutdinov riding sub standard machinery in the up coming pairs event then I assume according to your theory? It also seems to have escaped your attention that the pairs is no longer a 'one off event', it has now grown to 3 rounds. The European Championship to 4 rounds and no doubt they plan to grow it further. -
So he reneged on the deal. It's very simple. You sign a contract that states you are willing to ride for the EL team that drafts you. He did that. Months after that he then goes and signs for Sheffield, KNOWING he is already committed to a team on Thursday nights. He has reneged on his deal, no ifs, buts, whys etc. Its pretty simple. The whole system would very quickly fall apart if all the riders did that. I'm quite sure other riders will have been choosing the PL teams to negotiate with whose fixtures don't take place on the same night as a team they have already signed with.

Do you know he is in financial difficulties? Not being paid an amount last season doesn't mean he is in financial difficulties this. We've already been informed he upgraded his entire teams flights to New Zealand.. not a sign of someone in financial difficulty. I trust we won't be seeing him racing in the upcoming Pairs event due to his 'injuries' and 'financial difficulties'. -

It has got absolutely nothing to do with Emil or his 'outlook' on life, he is doing as he is told. He very likely has been given little to no choice. -

Then you are very naive and somewhat blind. Are you seriously suggesting that it's taken till now for Emil to decide he hasn't got the finances to compete? Plans are put into place a long time before now. -

I think you misunderstood me HW. I meant they pay a hell of a lot less to the FIM for the rights. -

Again, I asked for a link to BSI 'doing the subject to death'. Not for posts on the BSF! If that's all you have to back up your claims it really does show the paucity of them. -

It's a subject that OneSport through their media mouthpiece are once again bleating about. More of their propaganda. -

The only people bringing up the subject are One Sport. In the same way that most things are only brought up by One Sport. Its just non stop propaganda day after day after day. Admission fees to these One Sport events, I assume as its a 'nothing title' as you say they are much lower than a GP? -

So, we're hearing lots from pro one-sport lobbyists attacking BSI over prize money etc... yet One Sport is no different, but they pay a hell of a lot less? -

Could anyone list the prize money offered by One Sport, also the amount they paid to secure the rights? -
You haven't got that quite right Had Enough. If a player refuses to sign for the team that drafted him he is UNABLE to play for another team that year and must re-enter the draft the following year. The only way he can join another team is if the rights to his signature are traded by the team he was meant to join, which has happened on a few occasions. So in the case of Bates, by quitting on Swindon he wouldn't be able to join another team that year, he'd have to re-enter the draft. Or Poole would have to pay Swindon for his services.

Pathetic post. All Phil has pointed out is some figures. What do one sport pay, what prize money do they dish out? You appear to be the naive one... Without the intervention you say... Sadly that defeats your point as there was an intervention and the riders were paid, which is scb's point. This is not the case in Poland time and again. -
Not a clubs fault if somebody chose not to take an A grade rider.
-
Ford made noises about it when the draft was originally concluded. You can substitute Poole for any club, the principle remains the same. The fact Poole are being dragged into it is that it is Poole fans who are jumping up and down saying it should be allowed... funny that.
