  1. So we're now getting to the heart of the matter, the Lamberts feel they should be treated differently to every other young rider in the UK. They think they are 'special' so they don't have to abide by the same rules as every other rider in the UK. Thus when they were advised that, quite rightly, they would have to abide by the same rules as everyone else they had a hissy fit? I'm sure there are many legitimate reasons to have a go at the BSPA and the support they give to British riders, but this isn't one of them.
  2. No, it is signifying that however good they may be at driving due to extensive practice, they are still not allowed to obtain their license till the required age. As was the case with Lambert. It´s really quite simple. He hasn't been picked on, he hasn't been victimised.
  3. No there isn't any comparison at all. There are no rules/regulations regarding the age of taking exams such as A Levels/GCSE's. There ARE rules/regulations regarding the age required to race a 500CC motorcycle. By your reckoning, some kid who has been stealing cars and joy riding since he was 10 should be allowed to take their driving test at 14 because they are 'good at it'. Or another child can buy alcohol at 14 because he has 'matured' early.
  4. Comparing taking an exam to riding a 500CC motorbike with no brakes is ridiculous. There is no comparison. This country has rules and regulations in place (as do many others) and they have to be followed. It is extremely foolish and naïve if the Lamberts feel those rules were in place to hold them back. All credit to them for finding a way to fast track his career, nobody is going to criticise them for that.
  5. He hasn't. Holder was simply named in the Poole team to race in the Elite Shield fixture at Swindon, which was postponed. It was a one-off and Ward will take his place for the forthcoming league fixtures.
  6. I think TNT lives in a Groundhog Day situation.. with the day being April 1st. It would explain many of his posts over the years!
  7. Remind me how you were able to watch Robert Lambert ride last year? He was perfectly happy to use his British status to ride in the NL. Remind me how you are able to watch Robert Lambert ride for Kings Lynn this year? I don't give a diddly squat what he says or who he chooses to ride for. Give the lad his wish, he doesn't want to be associated with GB, fair enough let him go race for Germany. Adjust his starting average accordingly and Kings Lynn can find a replacement.
  8. Folk keep quoting this rule and clearly they aren't reading it. It states 'without the express permission of the MC'. Quite clearly 'express permission' was obtained so there is no problem. Ward will have signed a contract to ride in the EL meetings for Poole. He will be in the Poole 1-7 come the date of that fixture so there is no way round it. So The Pedaler has been Pedalling more rubbish.
  9. To be fair, Tai did used to have some whinges in the press, however this was one of things he cut out when he decided to get his head down and make the most of his ability.
  10. Says who? Got your blinkers on again haven't you.
  11. Not a poor post, Lambert perfectly happy to use his British status to ride in the NL, to obtain a 3.00 average in the EL. If he doesn't want it, take it away.
  12. If he doesn't wish to have anything to do with GB, simply re-assess his average to 4.00 and inform him he unfortunately can't race for Kings Lynn this season.
  13. Ah so poor racing is a new invention is it? There were plenty of poor meetings in the days when the sport wasn´t struggling as well.
  14. Unless with MC permission... which they've been granted clearly. Still don't see a problem. If Woffinden got injured for Wolves, you'd expect them to bring Lindgren in.. the above rule would suggest they can't.. that would be ridiculous and again permission would no doubt be given.
  15. I don't see that Poole have done anything wrong in this case. They declared their team with Holder in it, then simply redeclare with Ward. As I thing waihekeaces said its not something they can do for much of the season as once their averages go above 32 they won't be able to swap them in such a way, not that they are likely to anyway. They were simply showing loyalty to Holder in giving him an extra meet before the GP and if it qualifies him for a European Cup team that's a good thing too.
  16. It wouldn't take preference at any stage, its not an official international event, plus I am sure Ward has signed a contract.
  17. Spot on, I think most were thinking you were referring to the section of society who simply can't be bothered to work.
  18. Hmm, agree with parts of this. Definately the Grand Prix, although the one-off World Final had a special atmoshphere. However, I don't agree with the riders 'going out on full gas, no holds barred' part. The problem with World Finals was that once 2 or 3 rides were done, most of the field were out of contention and weren't particularly interested.
  19. Who? Everyone has access to opportunities if they can be bothered to do so. One of THE biggest problems with current society is this notion that things should just be handed out on a plate.
  20. It is not up to Poole. Ward has signed a contract. A contract to race for Poole in the Elite League. He has committed to those fixtures. Fixtures in the UK have been arranged where possible around the Official International Speedway calendar. OneSport, in their usual unprofessional way feel they don't have to adhere to normal protocol and arrange meetings after the required date for International meetings. If the BSPA set a precedent and allow riders to swan off to open meetings and ignore the contract they have signed in the EL then it gives open licence to OneSport to arrange more of these meetings whenever they wish (not that they need encouragement) and EL/PL riders to forsake their UK commitments at the drop of a hat. Ward has a choice, as did Holder. If he doesn't wish to race in the UK, nobody is forcing him too. However, he, nor OneSport should be dictating his availability for matches. This is no attack on Darcy Ward, simply he is the example being used. As for British speedway and Australian riders in general.. I wonder how many Australians would have success on the World Stage without the British Leagues.
  21. Oh how terrible for the fans of the sport to enjoy discussing it. Or of course they could simply adopt the attitude, again, of let's keep our paying customers in the dark, see if we can annoy a few more into not going anymore, after all, its one of the few things we've consistently done well over the years! The BSPA have thus far managed this scheme pretty well. We had the 'live' coverage of the draft via the BSPA tweets, the initial list and rankings were published. Why the sudden secrecy now?
  22. Typical blinkered attitude. Wizzers post has cleared up absolutely nothing. In fact its just made it worse. In a sport riddled with corruption allegations the rules should be laid out quite clearly for all to see, including the fans. There is not one single negative from the list of draft riders being made available, so why don't they?
  23. No, this post makes you look like what you are, someone with a vendetta who posts utter drivel over and over. Remind me which country those Australian riders ply their trade in? Remind me which country they rely on to make a career out of the sport? Australia did the honor as they receive reciprocal benefits of their riders riding in the British Leagues. Whereas the reciprocal benefit that OneSport would offer is taking away more dates and more riders from the British Leagues.
