  1. Shame, bet a lot of those kids were looking forward to the next meet till they were told that
  2. Nothing changes from discussion on a forum, that isn't the point. People discuss relevant topics of interest until a point they decide there is something else they would prefer to spend their time discussing. It is up to the individual to decide when they reach that point, not one person saying a thread should end. As said, threads naturally come to an end when the interest in the topic wanes. It's a natural evolution.
  3. That wasn't the video or angle I saw so I can't 100% confirm... However, the back peddling of the Glasgow rider is pretty similar so if it is the same incident I'm happy to say no headbutt. Wish could find the other vid to confirm.
  4. It likely would have been... till Eastbourne posted and opened up the nest again. Besides, why should it be 'put to bed'? If you're no longer interested in the topic you move on.. topics naturally are 'put to bed' when interest in them wanes.
  5. It was unfairly disproportionate. He should have received more for getting involved in something that had absolutely nothing to do with him. He wasn't provoked, he wasn't wound up, he just wanted to get involved in some violence.
  6. No idea to be honest, I saw it on Facebook a fair few days ago now. Unfortunately have no links to it, but I think it was filmed by a Glasgow fan. Could be wrong though.
  7. There's another video in circulation that shows a pretty vicious headbutt (or attempted as you can't quite see if contact is made) from Martin Dugard on Vissing.
  8. Nice try, Tungate wasn't included in the list of passes I posted. Keep trying though.
  9. Exactly! Which is why saying I saw them both ride is utterly worthless. We can only compare on achievements in their respective eras and in that Lee doesn't have a leg to stand on.
  10. So another long post with absolutely nothing to back up this 'opinion'.
  11. Seemed plenty of dirt down, some riders just can't handle it these days.
  12. It was always going to be a bad choice of meeting to show anyway, despite the above average amount of passing.
  13. Heat 3 wasn't, Andersen passed Morris up the inside, Morris returned the compliment a lap later. Heat 4 wasn't, Nicholls chased and passed Douglas around the outside. Heat 5 wasn't, Tungate passed Morris, Morris chased and returned the compliment. Heat 7 wasn't, Wright passed Howarth around the outside. Heat 9 wasn't, Nicholls passed Schlein around the outside Heat 11 wasn't, Masters passed Tungate up the inside Heat 13 wasn't, Masses passed Nicholls and passed around the outside. So in answer to you and Shovlar NONE of them were due to 'rider error'. Might help if you actually watched rather than have a pre-conceived bias beforehand. For reference I was highly critical of the track earlier in the season.
  14. Very few were 'rider error' at all. The Tungate incident wasn't even included. It was Masters chasing and passing Scott Nicholls that counted as the pass with no 'rider error' involved.
  15. Passing after Bend 2 in Heats 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 with close finishes in 2 and 10. That's way more than in your average speedway meeting, this on a track affected by rain beforehand and with pretty poor opposition in the main.
  16. Passing in Heats 3 and 4... Close finish in Heat 2. Dreadful.
  17. Still not got a clue have you. An opinion is worthless in any form of intelligent conversation unless backed up with reasons. "I saw them both" most certainly does not qualify as one of them when they would have been on different machinery, different opponents, different track surfaces. In fact, anyone attempting to give an opinion based on that is foolish in the extreme..... It's you getting all worked up because you have quite simply been unable to back up your opinion with anything at all.
  18. Says Sidney replying. The gift that keeps on giving. Only waiting for the threat to knock Chunky out now.
  19. Only those unable to form a coherent argument use this line. An opinion is as worthy as the reasoning behind it.. Midland Red has given none.
  20. They never do... when the opinion argument is trotted out with nothing to back it up, it's pretty much an admission the debate is lost.
  21. I only put facts forward as facts, opinions I back up with facts which is something you consistently fail to do.
  22. Which is why your comparison is worthless as it is an integral part of what makes a rider great. Lee couldn't cope.. Tai thus far has and has shown his superiority. Your argument is akin to me saying I saw Andy Phillips beat Hans Nielsen once so he is better. Besides, all you saw Lee beating in the main was part time journeymen in the most part. Not hard to look great.
  23. Was it his stunning 5pt average in 91 that swung it?
