Wolves V Pirates 4/8 (pk Is Back)
BWitcher replied to T.N.T.'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm sorry, I just cannot see where these allegations of lack of effort from Woffinden are coming from. Perhaps you think it's a deliberate plan to miss the gate and then get involved in trying to pass people is somehow a safer way to go about things? He simply wasn't gating well last night, in the two races he DID gate, one he had his chain knocked of and the other a team riding error from Pawlicki left him stranded. That's motorsport, it's always been that way and always will. -

You seem to make more of a fool of yourself with every post... if he 'wasn't' bothering to team ride he would have cleared off and won the race... as it was he tried to team ride and made a mistake. Still despite the scoreline there's been some decent races, and with KKS operating on 2 computers it's kept the forum amusement high too. -

I assume you are 'LOL!' about a fantastic speedway race? What a strange character you are. Big mistake from Pawlicki in that one leaving the inside wide open. Ward tbf had to ride exceptionally to take advantage of it. Woffinden left exposed on the outside.. he was pointing to his partner where to go tbf! -

Who? PK we know has been struggling all year and has been awful from the gate. Bjerre was winning his 1st race till his crash and is now riding injured. Thorsell won his last. Our fast track riders aren't in Newmans class. Tai had his chain knocked off. Poole are a good team and are gating brilliantly. -

Really? I think Poole are riding very well. Not sure what you are watching Plus they're having all the luck going. -

So? It was one race, off gate 4, was always likely to happen. He didn't just cruise round and almost got 2nd on the line so the effort was there. -
Another one conveniently ignoring that the same move was pulled by Krcmar a lap earlier, the only reason why Nilsson didn't bounce of the fence was he had a brain and throttled off, pulling his leg back out of the way. If anyone is advocating NIlsson should have been excluded, then Krcmar should have been excluded prior.
-
So Krcmar should have been excluded the lap before then as Nilsson was forced to shut off. Doesn't matter how you spin it, the referee was wrong. Couldn't disagree more, it would make the racing worse in my opinion. Some of the most exciting races are when riders really have to work to make a pass, not when they just have an open avenue provided to them on the 1st lap to sail by.
-
That's what its meant to be for. Not for multia-alias posters who don't post their own opinion, but post to troll.
-
Ridiculous.
-
So you agree the Czech should have been excluded then as did exactly the same thing first, the difference being Nilsson was intelligent enough to throttle off.

Just another freeloader.

Hemsley: King's Lynn A Race Track No More

If you're suggesting it's the 'racing' your argument is well and truly flawed. -

Absolutely 100% spot on. I have the same, pretty much every home Wolverhampton meeting from around 1989 through to 1997 then lots more after that. When I think back to the days of Ermolenko, Correy, PK, Mikael Karlsson (as was) etc I remember it being unbelievable racing and amazingly exciting every week. Watching the videos tells a completely different story. You are spot on regarding the atmosphere too. You'll still get people telling you how back in the 80's & 90's the racing was so much better though... just as when I started going in the 80's there were people going on about how much better the racing was in the 70's.. and as my dad told me when he started going he was told how much better the racing was in the 60's etc. -
You're entitled to be wrong of course. That's your choice. You're not entitled to rewrite history though.
-
No it isn't 'dead right'. We've had this debate over and over. Speedway has ALWAYS been predominantly won from the gate. Of course you can remember watching some close racing etc.. we all do. What you forget is the hundreds of strung our races you will also have seen. Just like now.
-
You mean it's too much like the sport of speedway?
-
Yep. PK and Lasse Bjerre in, Ricky Wells and Ty Proctor out. Feel a tad for Ricky, he has for the most part done his job, but a change had to be made.
-
You are right E I, apologies, Baggy was the first to mention Cook upon re-reading the thread. Still no apology from you though I see following your inaccurate attack on Baggy. It's not hard, be a man!
-
More elongated whitterings. I apologise, I didn't realise there was a forum rule with regards to the time you are allowed to respond to a post too. Complaining about going off topic discussing Jon Cook? Who was it that brought Jon Cook into the thread? Ah yes, that would be you. You can keep spinning it all you like, the facts of the matter are quite simple. Lakeside rolled over and did nothing about Poole postponing a meeting. If you are gullible enough to believe what Cook spins to you at a Lakeside fan meeting that's your issue. They also rolled over and did nothing about Poole cheating in another well documented meeting. You're happy with that, you're happy that the sport is run in a corrupt fashion, that's your choice. Meanwhile you are still not adult enough to accept that you were wrong. there was no 'sharp exchange of views', you simply accused Baggy of something he hadn't done and are not adult enough to admit it. Shame.
-
Enough of your waffle. Gordon Bennett has already clearly stated that Lyons comments were ill founded so your attack on him is both petulant and inaccurate. You however have shown time and again you are unable to question your beloved Cook who quite simply is a disgrace who rolled over and let Poole bring the sport down to new levels, then has the audacity to bleat about it. There is no fantasy, it happened, you can try and rewrite history all you wish.
-
How about rolling over and letting Poole break rules and postpone matches on a whim?
-
Both being excuses that are worthless and show the narrow mindedness of the existing promoters. If a product is worth seeing it does not matter what night of the week it is on, people will pay to see it. THAT is the problem. Not 'traditional race nights' and all the other flimsy excuses trotted out. Its a lack of imagination to promote that is the problem. What does 'traditional race night' mean to a potential new supporter, which the sport desperately needs? Nothing. Not an attack on you Aces, more an attack on the pervading culture in speedway.
