We all know exactly what Woffindens 'bad news' was and saw him living it in the public eye. I didn't see him failing any tests though. With Ward, as it stands, its just an excuse.
-
Well lets try and put this together.. He was out.. at night.. so that's the night out part covered.. He was one 'assumes' with pals, rather than on his own or strangers.. but perhaps that could be contested.. He failed an alcohol test the next day so a decent amount of 'booze' was involved. So yes, a description of a boozy night out with pals pretty much fits.

Wolves V Leicester (18/8/14)
BWitcher replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He hardly rode for you so a bit of a pointless comment. The majority of the time it isn't the riders, more often its pressure put on them by their Polish clubs.. which I'm sure would have been the case over his withdrawal from the away match at Leicester. This withdrawal doesn't buy into that theory as much though. -
Maybe we enjoy the comedy?

You may turn out to be right, however, even if you are, it doesn't make this post a fact. It's your opinion at this stage.

I wasn't wrong, given the Wolves and Cradley fan bases, it was a poor turnout. The concept of the idea was good, the Birmingham team was fine.. the Wolves and Cradley teams were awful. Tbf tricky to put together a team that could be labelled Oxford accurately.. (should have got Hans Nielsen out of retirement, no excuse not too). The fact it was £10 admission no doubt helped the crowd too. My sources tell me the crowd was less than for any Wolves league meetings this year, including the low turnouts? Anyway, it doesn't really matter, you enjoyed it, as did others.

As Humphrey says, of course all those factors are taken into account, but it will still be a random number generator that is going to drive it. It's not completely random, it's a controlled random. There has to be controlled 'randomness', otherwise the best rider would always win, which as we know doesn't happen in real life. The key is the 'race engine'. Do you just want a race result produced, in which case it would be pretty simple, or do you want the race to be run in stages with text commentary to go with it. All the variables you mention can be built in, with riders having starting values that can adjust during the game, or even during a meeting if conditions change (a weather/track condition built in). The best way to grade the riders is to get some help. Football Manager has folk all around the world provide ratings for the players. In essence they are just fans, you just have to check that nobody has given silly ratings. I don't know about the changes, but like you I spent hours playing as a kid running whole seasons! Happy Days!

The Future Of The Elite League
BWitcher replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Well you've been paying it for years in the PL. -
Lots of references being made to Sam Ermolenko.. He averaged 7.7 in his final season for Wolves in 2004, riding as a heat leader in a much tougher league that it is now. As for 'sliding off'... he was doing that when he was at his peak Of course, he was nowhere near as good as he was, but still better than most. He never fell as low as riders like Havelock/Screen did or even Les Collins if you go back that far. I don't see it as a shame when riders carry on racing after their peak, if they are enjoying it and can still do a job for their team, good on them. It will be a sad day when PK does stop racing, just as it was when Sam did (although he still has the odd spin now!)

What exciting times fans have to look forward to. It re-enforces the message to promoters that there are enough mugs around willing to pay out money for meaningless dross. Which means they will continue to serve up meaningless dross and see absolutely no need to provide anything better. It's a fairly standard pattern that has brought the sport to where it is today in this country.

The Future Of The Elite League
BWitcher replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Of course the value for money has been going down year by year, because they've been cutting the strength year by year.. so more fans stop going year by year.. so some advocate, lets cut it further... there's only one result to all this. -
The Future Of The Elite League
BWitcher replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
And why is that? What's the common theme.. What has been done every year.. and every year its got worse... but you advocate continuing it! -

All those advocating cutting the standard further quite simply must be blind. What do you think they have been doing for the last 10 years? Its been cut, cut, cut, cut. What has happened as a result of that? Less people attending. It's not hard to spot the pattern, yet still folk advocate continuing it. -
Replaced Brendan Johnson with Benji Compton as one of their fast track riders. To do so, Benji Compton has mysteriously tumbled down the fast track list (which is meant to be based on current form, his current form has been good)... and more importantly a rule has been changed to allow it to take place. The rule being changed on the BSPA site the day after the change had been announced... nothing to do with the outcry of course.

Oops

Nobody is making assumptions. You have linked to a rule that is for Guest Riders. Guest rider is even in capitals and underlined for emphasis! The idea being so that people can't misread it. Clearly they still can. You're not having any fun Starman, you are once again the subject of ridicule.

I agree. Some are blaming Pawlicki, not his fault, he is at the back and call of his masters in Poland.
-
Thought it would be pretty hard to pay attention when you had me on ignore, just another of your lies I suppose. Of course members are still going on about it, because there are some who are still defending it, one of them being you. Nobody is defending the Pawlicki situation.
-
And you wonder on the Pawlicki thread why Poole incidents run on for so long....
-
That's because no halfwits are defending it. You would.. See above.
