Gorzow Gp-30th August 2014

Smolinski sneak his 'switch' back on his bike then? Strange how, although he claimed it didn't enhance his racing he's been crap since it was barred. -

You're right, beating Harris by inches is certainly in a different league to most who beat him by 50 metres. -

Despite the injury he has picked up, Hancock was very, very lucky that wasn't far more serious I believe then. -
Never. Not that it is anyway relevant, it's simply the argument of a child.. "But so and so did it too" Doesn't matter how many times people read it, they remain childish words.

It's amusing how some decide that in every circumstance the sport of speedway is made to look like a joke... when in almost every circumstance other, far bigger sports have the same issues... but funnily enough, don't get called a joke. It's highly common for these testing issues to encounter legal problems and has happened in far bigger sports than speedway.

The system meant you didn't have to win races. 2nd places was fine, even throw in the odd 3rd place.. Thus a 3rd 2nd 3rd 2nd was just as good as 1st 1st 1st 1st. You didn't have to be the most consistent rider either. It was an exciting system, but a flawed one. Loram was the only rider in the history of the GP's to be World Champion without winning a GP too. Incidentally, there is quite a quirk in that season's GP.... If you take the top 3 Loram, Rickardsson and Hamill... and calculate there standard 4 rider average over the GP all of them come out at 8.14! Hamill 15 (6) 2 (2) 17 (7) 0 (2) 15 (7) 10 (5) Loram 16 (7) 10(4) 7 (4) 8 (4) 7 (4) 9 (5) Rickardsson 7 (4) 9 (4) 11 (5) 9 (5) 3 (3) 16 (6) Hamill 59 29 8.14 Rickardsson 55 27 8.14 Loram 57 28 8.14 How bizarre is that?

Correc he isn't as good, he is better. At an equivalent age Ward is well ahead of where Loram was. At no point in Lorams career was anyone ever saying he could go on to win multi world titles. Indeed it was something of a shock when he did win one... something he never got close to repeating. Loram was a very good, exciting rider for sure, but apart from that one season where the format suited and he had some luck (which most champions need to be fair) he was just below the top echelon of riders.

Coventry Vs Kings Lynn now Sept 4th - Empty Stadium ?
BWitcher replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Always amuses me how folk say its only 16 mins of action in speedway... but claim its 90 mins in football.... -
It may have bypassed you, but the object of speedway is to win races. The best riders are judged by how many they win. At the highest level of the sport Hancock and Woffinden are ahead of Ward. It's really quite simple. Well you haven't learnt much have you. If you are seriously suggesting that Ward has a better racing brain than Hancock you are seriously deluded. Hancock has managed to remain at the top of the sport for so long primarily down to his racing brain, where to position the bike, how to defend a lead. Ward is quite the opposite, he just flat out goes for it and very often its his poor decisions in big meetings (Grand Prix's) that cost him. How can you agree with him when he is disagreeing with you?

"Nothing about his time at Wolves" has changed your mind. You have issues, clearly. Pawlicki up until the last 2 meetings that he missed has been utterly sensational for the club and one of the most exciting riders we have had in some time. I guess you don't like naturally talented exciting racers who can pass. Each to their own.
-
To be fair... most are!
-
Ward has shown no remorse over this. He has lied about mitigating circumstances and his only concern was 'not being hydrated' which as has been pointed out makes no difference to the alcohol levels in your system at all. It seems it has not dawned on him at any point that perhaps he should refrain from drinking before a speedway event. Also, let's bear in mind he was already out and already drinking BEFORE he received this so called news. Zero sympathy should now be given to him.
-
3000 (not sure of the currency), its been mentioned numerous times on the thread. He is now simply awaiting the verdict over further punishment.
-
Not been found guilty of anything? So they banned him from the GP and fined him for the fun of it? Sorry to break it to you, but I doubt many riders out there are concerned where they stand in your all time top 20. Interesting post though, you're constantly slagging of Pedersen because of his tough riding.. but then claim there were other tougher riders in the past, but funnily enough you are always praising them. On another point and I think waihekaces touched upon this earlier.. Isn't it funny how riders such as Kelly Moran are lauded as being brilliant characters for their excessive drinking, drug taking and other such activities that Ward can only dream of coming close too...

Read what I said. At times KKS can make you laugh in a positive way. You laugh with him. You, people just laugh at you with contempt.,
-
Haven't spit my dummy out, you provide nothing but amusement, not in a good way for yourself. Thanks for confirming you're trolling ways though.
-
If he isn't guilty, why are you banging on he should be fined? As usual, you are doing your usual trolling, adopting the most controversial standpoint available on the thread in order to antagonise other posters. I now believe you aren't KKS.. KKS can often be amusing... you on the other hand are just simply a prize bell end.
-
Which has nothing to do with your claims of 'intent' which you have been pushing forward.
-
Bull. You don't get away with drink driving by claiming, well I wasn't intending on driving when I was having those drinks.
-
What you don't seem to understand is this isn't criminal law. Its the rules and regulations of the sport and Ward has FAILED the test. It is really very simple. Even in criminal law your argument would be flawed.
-
No, you've spouted some rubbish, there is no 'argument' in there. In what context is 'booze' legal and silence tampering illegal? The rest of your post is simply full of irrelevant speculation.

Wolves V Leicester (18/8/14)
BWitcher replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Let's wait and see what unfolds this week before castigating them just yet. -
What are you talking about? You will have to explain how booze is 'legal' and silence tampering isn't. I can only assume you are saying that drinking alcohol is 'legal' by the law of the land, but silence tampering is 'illegal' by the rules of speedway... Rather pathetic argument that! There are no 'blurred' boundaries at all. It doesn't matter what has been 'suggested'. For him to have failed the test he must have consumed a significant amount of alcohol... Facts win out over suggestions.
-
So it has no relevance.
