Nothing to do with Tai. That's to do with the promoters of the meeting! Yeah, well done Bomber! Offered to leave his club short to ride in a CHALLENGE meeting. No, he is just enjoying getting extra paydays.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

He's not riding in a challenge meeting? Whoopy doo! It isn't an 'international call-up'. -
Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
BWitcher replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's quite clear what he meant. He underlined it and put it in italics. He is wrong. The 'racing' is on offer at every single speedway meeting there is.. so clearly that isn't the reason why more people attend one event over another. He used the argument in an attempt to justify moving away from temporary tracks.. ignoring the fact that the attendances for meetings held at temporary tracks quite clearly show that the 'track' isn't the primary concern of the paying public. It's really not even a debate. Next we'll get that old myth that 'great racing' is what brings the crowds in... followed by how 'great' the racing in the PL is... oblivious to the fact that there isn't something quite right there.... -

You have no point WK and the more you try to argue it, the more foolish you look. For there to be a comparison they both have to be speedway events. That is the constant between the two. Now, you claimed the standard of racing, note that, the standard of racing was most important. You also tell us that temporary tracks don't provide good racing. So tell us, by your OWN argument, how is it that the temporary track attracts the highest attendance if the 'standard of racing' is the MOST important thing. -

Numbers speak. Speedway racing takes place all over the country every week. 40,000 don't turn up to it though. Your argument is nonsensical as we are discussing attending a speedway meeting and what draws fans to a SPEEDWAY meeting. If there isn't a meeting, its not relevant and not part of the discussion. -

Of course it plays a part, but you brought this point up as a reason for us to move away from such venues suggesting that to fans the racing was the most important thing.. Cardiff has 100% demonstrated that the 'racing' isn't the most important thing. It's a necessary ingredient, but not the one that appears to dictate between someone attending a meeting or not. Move the British GP to Peterboro for example, the racing would be better but the attendance would plummet.. and not just due to capacity. -

Irrelevant answer. You know what the answer is, and you know the answer means you are wrong, but you won't admit it. A GP at Cardiff is about MUCH more than the racing. -

What is the attendance at Cardiff? What is the attendance at any other meeting in the UK? What was the attendance at GP meets in the UK prior to Cardiff? -

Except you have absolutely nothing to back that statement up with. -
The old was you there argument? It doesn't matter if it was a close call. Worrall is the better rider. Worrall has a greater chance of scoring pts in heat 9 than Nielsen. It doesn't mean Worrall will always beat Nielsen, but he will do so more than he loses. Therefore to maximise your chances of winning you put the better rider in. Whether he is 1% better or 50% better. It's like saying you're having a go on a roulette wheel that has 25 red slots and 20 black and then justifying picking black as 'its a close call'.

Brains and speedway team managers in the main don't go together, with a few exceptions.

Meanwhile in the UK they just completely ignore the ruling anyway! Which pretty much sums up the SCB.

Yes indeed RIP David Nix. However, find it very distasteful for you to use his death to 'have a pop'. -

The Kildemand situation is nothing to do with luck.

Another meeting arranged when a rider is absent.. Is it really so difficult?

They wouldn't be if it was run and promoted in the correct way.. but that's another debate. -

Correct he owes nobody anything. Chris Van Straaten will tell you he owes British Speedway nothing so he doesn't need 'asking'. Quite what Matt Ford has to do with it, who knows but I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel 'owed'. Now we know you have views that are, to put it mildy, bordering on xenophobic and racist, but the reality is, slavery doesn't exist anymore. Woffinden isn't 'owned' by anyone. -

Exactly.. so when he decides who he wants to be World Champion.. you will do as you're told. That's the model Trees wants! -

She has no clue who the backers of One Sport are. As for Emil, I feel for the lad. He's grown up with a dream of being World Speedway Champion and I'm pretty sure that's still what he wants to be.. however, he's clearly being 'leaned on' to put it nicely not to ride in it... which brings us back to my opening line. -

BWitcher replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Incorrect. Do you think they pay big money in Denmark? Or in the Czech and German leagues that some riders will ride in? The biggest beef with riders is the schedule, as it would be with anyone in their position. One night a week racing, Woffinden would be racing here. As would Hancock. When your views are xenophobic and racist, as yours are, they are redundant. We all know your beef. We all know why you rant as you do, indeed you stormed off the forum for some time the last time you were on here ranting when the truth was pointed out. Some riders have the ability to cut the mustard, others don't. You should actually be happy, the more of these riders don't ride here, the more places open up for riders of lesser ability. -

It does say it all. Just not in the way you think it does. It says just how poorly run the sport is in this country. So? Tai raced in Britain last year, he isn't this. It's his choice. Simple.
