Superb post. Sadly many simply don't understand the points you make here and we're beginning to see that already on the thread. I never saw John Louis ride live, only seem some footage. My gut instinct would be to rate him a tad higher than Chris as you do, but there isn't much in it.

That crash looked and was awful. It looks like they've all escaped relatively lightly.. could have been a lot worse.

He was riding in British Speedway when he was riding slow... However, he has started racing in Poland and Sweden regularly now so that must be a massive gain

Correct, but that wasn't her fault, that's the rules. For Sky meetings the meeting steward is in control. He is the one who should be held to task and to be honest is the one that caused the problems. He promised Havelock a track inspection after Heat 9 and then reneged on his word, that's what sent Havelock over the top.

tbf its partially right, but only because of the incompetence of the sport and its promotion. The constant showing of speedway in front of empty stadiums does not help the sport at all. The previous 2 sky meets in front of bigger, noisy crowds do the sport wonders. Sadly the promoters, 15 years in, still haven't grasped this very, very basic concept. As such the problem isn't tv.. its the promoters who quite simply no longer promote, just rely on their existing fan base which is ever shrinking.

I know you're kidding around but again folk seem to be falling into this trap that the fans only want to see exciting racing... I'm still yet to see any evidence of this born out in crowd figures.. anywhere.

Cricket results can stand with much less than 2/3rds of a match completed. Baseball results can stand with 2/3rds of a match completed.

If children want to leave WK that is up to them. He made a series of posts which were wrong. A number of forum members POLITELY explained exactly why they were wrong. He had two choices at this point, to act like a rational adult and learn from it, or act like a 3 year old and continue to insist he is correct and argue against basic maths. Unfortunately, his further attention seeking announcements of him leaving and 'warning' people he is removing his posts further confirms the child like actions.

Of course, but that is irrelevant at this juncture. He was correct on this occasion. For riders to be fined for not racing because they claimed it was dangerous... and then for it to be abandoned because it was dangerous is simply outrageous.

Not that I like the 10 heat rule in speedway, but there are other sports that have shortened matches, far, far bigger ones than speedway. Cricket and Baseball to name two.

Yes, total nonsense. What IS total nonsense is clubs doing NOTHING to take advantage of tv coverage. Look at the previous 2 sky meetings to see the difference.

Unfortunately thousands of speedway fans have gone and got a life and it no longer includes speedway. The more this kind of things happen.. which so unfortunately keep involving Poole... the more will 'get a life'. Then Poole can race themselves.

The sport has it completely wrong when the primary interest is 'getting to Heat 10' and not the safety of the riders. The incompetent pleb running the meeting had no concern at all for riders safety.. even stating it was unfair to blame him if an accident occurred when stating the meeting should continue. All he was interested in was getting to Heat 10. As for Heat 10, as mentioned before, had 4 riders been in that race, there would have been carnage.

You don't grasp it do you. This has been going on for years and years. Every single season there is major controversy involving Poole. Every single season more fans walk away from the sport because of it. Had there been 4 riders in Heat 10 there would have been a massive pile up and someone no doubt would have been hurt. Fortunately there wasn't and the out of control Holder got away with it. Then its called off without a track inspection! haha.
