Which is Tai's best engine then as you claim he must have one... after all the one he was riding for Wolves he scored 18 in a GP at Gorzow.. So your argument is he wasn't using inferior engines for Wolves is pretty much nullified by him using it in a GP.. or is that an event he doesn't care about too? Nobody denies that his form wasn't acceptable.. whether it was deliberate is another matter.
-
Yes, but the point New Science is making is that line up 6 years ago still pulled in a big crowd, even though it was lacking the names that used to ride in the event back in the day. Although of course... Wolves won the league that year so interest in the team was high at that time..
-
Was he? Scored less than Cook and Barker.. about the level he operated at all year in the UK with the odd exception.

There is nothing to believe. His dad had an accident, bad injury to his hand. Not serious enough for his son to be given updates or indeed for him to chase. Ford saw an opportunity to strengthen, he took it. That's about it.

How Many El Teams In 2016?
BWitcher replied to Bradford Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think you've misread this one Oldace.... -
Spot on, its no co-incidence that when Lindgren was topping the averages in the UK, he was working with Jacko. It's a debate.. about speedway.. some folk would rather see dead threads all over the forum! Have you checked Neil Evitts reserve rides out yet
-
You haven't given an answer at all. You've just repeated ad nauseam that the World Champion decided to sign a contract to race in England, then not bother to put any effort in at all. You've not given one valid reason as to why he would think it was a good idea to race on inferior equipment, putting himself in more danger and to earn less money.
-
So you keep telling us.. But hey, lets look at the scores from that meeting, and we see Craig Cook and Ben Barker on 13.. with Woffinden on 12. So nope, hardly set the world alight in that meet either did he? In his first race, Danny King slid on on 1st bend and was excluded. Re-run, Tai beat Simon Stead and Charles Wright. In his second he led, before being relegated to last place, finally managing to pass Steve Boxall.. impressive. 2nd was Harris, 1st Richie Worrall He gated and won his 3rd against Barker, Nicholls and Bridger before being beaten by Jason Garrity in his 4th ride. He then won his 5th ahead of Craig Cook, Leigh Lanham and Lewis Blackbird. So the British Final is hardly a shining example of a sudden upturn in form in the UK...
-
That is precisely what happened, Tai alluded to it many times, he was using the exact same setup as the year before and it wasn't working and he couldn't figure out why. Then you start making changes and go backwards. You haven't given the answer. His main priority was the World Championship.. to win that you need to stay fit. So WHY would he CHOOSE to ride slower equipment meaning he was racing side by side with inferior riders.. when according to you if he'd have put a bit of effort in he could have been well ahead of them and much safer.. Not only much safer, but earning much more money too.
-
No they don't, only those without a clue. Again, you haven't answered any question put to you, just repeating yourself ad nauseam... WHY would Woffinden willingly choose to ride inferior equipment thus increasing his chance of injury, reducing his earning, reducing his popularity with his fans whom he hopes will donate towards the charity he is promoting. There is zero logic behind your claims at all.
-
Neil Evitts was never at reserve, that was the main problem he had that year.. another year he'd have dropped to reserve and likely got going again. Totally different setups and importantly backup teams. You think if Jacko was in the UK he'd have been struggling?
-
You're not reading are you. Freddie Lindgren was ahead of Leigh Adams. In Sweden he was a long way behind him. Your 'theory' makes absolutely no sense, none whatsoever. He was gunning for a World Championship but you choose to believe that he WILLINGLY chose to be slower in the UK, meaning he was riding in closer proximity to lesser riders, increasing his chances of accidents, plus meaning he earned less money. Interesting concept!
-
Apart from repeating your ill educated nonsense over and over which I have already proven to be incorrect.. (you try to ignore it, but that just makes you look silly).. your argument now is actually counter-productive. The very fact that he WAS world champion and struggling for whatever reason in the UK would have a far bigger effect than if he was just a normal heat leader. As regards riding in 'homeland', I've already given you the example of Freddie Lindgren who topped the averages in the UK in 2009, ahead of riders such as Leigh Adams, but was way below them in his 'homeland' of Sweden. To summarise your argument though, you believe that Woffinden made a conscious decision to not try as hard in Britain, to ensure his bikes weren't as quick, giving him the result of being caught up in traffic with lesser riders on a far more regular basis vastly increasing the chances of being injured, earn less money and suffer the flak from Wolves fans. When he could have just rode as he does elsewhere, won races for fun against lower standard opposition, been out in front riding safely, earned a lot more money and enjoyed the adulation of a hero. Please tell me why he would willingly choose the first of those options??
-
Not poor examples at all. They are actual factual examples. Andreas Jonsson has been racing in Poland for nigh on 15 years, so it makes no difference whether its his 'homeland' or not. You keep wittering on about a much weaker league, showing a lack of understanding as the format used counters that. All over the world has NO relevance to the riding in Britain. Just as Sweden has no relevance to Poland. Completely different tracks, bike setups, backup teams. If you can't grasp that simple concept there is little point you debating the subject. I also notice you ignore the other points that don't fit your argument. Basically you just decide 'he's not trying'.. as many do when riders are in a rut for any particular reason. Why exactly would they not bother trying? There is no benefit at all. Why did he ride his British engine in the Gorzow GP and score 18? The British Final is a much easier meeting than a league match these days.

Tai was getting beat by second strings for a spell in Sweden this year, resulted in him getting rid of his mechanic there. Again, it doesn't make the tiniest bit of difference what you are doing in another country, on different tracks, different equipment, with different back up teams. Andreas Jonsson this year is 9th in Swedish Averages, averaging nearly 9.. in Poland he's averaging 5.5 and way down the list. The issue with Tai in 2014 at Wolves was he simply wasn't gating, at all. Most of his points were earned the hard way.. now if he wasn't trying and didn't want to risk getting injured, that isn't the way to go about it. Far easier and safer to just make the gate and go. He had very heavy crashes twice for Wolves, once at Leicester at the start of the year, later on against Eastbourne.... hardly the actions of someone who is just taking it easy. What happens, as E I has alluded too is, you have a few bad races, in the new format there are hardly any 'easy pickings' races, so those bad races can pile up. You then start to make changes to your setup that perhaps may not even be needed.. they don't work.. you change more and before you know it you can be in a far worse situation than you were to start with. That can be compounded if you haven't got the best of teams working with you. Even Emil Sayfutdinov is 2pts lower in Poland this year than in Sweden.. Top of the averages with ease in Sweden, only 12th in Poland. Was he not trying in Poland then??

He rode in a USA v Rest of the World meeting over the weekend in the US along with Mikael and Magnus.

My universe is REALITY. The one where a rider can be top of the averages in one country and 25th in another. This sort of thing happens every single year. Freddie Lindgren was top of the EL averages in the UK when the league was strong, he was nowhere near the top in Sweden at the same time, racing against the same riders. Other riders are the opposite. Why don't you try asking any rider who races in different countries and they will tell you the differences. They have different teams, different setups across Europe. It might all be working perfectly in one country, not so well in the next. 2014 was very, very disappointing, but there were many factors that went into that.
-
Form in other countries is utterly irrelevant as they are totally different in many ways. There are lots of riders who have great years in one country and poor in another.

It usually goes up doesn't it, to pay for the fireworks?

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
BWitcher replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Three times? Seriously? I've seen it many, many times, as well as the old elastic held across and released too. Even so, as Oldace points out, it's irrelevant, it's covered in the rules. It should have had NO effect on the running of the meeting at all. -
They most definitely weren't in the meetings I attended when over in England. It's noticeable more than ever now when I only visit a few times a year, the gaps on the terraces get bigger and bigger.

What farce are you referring too? I watched a decent meeting, with plenty of passing and a couple of falls.. one of them being a rider who was unfit to race anyway! The meeting was called off because Hancock didn't like the green light start. Simple as that really. -
Who knows? Ask Chris Holder.
-
Don't be silly, just check the official site or the local press. I'm sure that the meeting will have been well promoted and a full list of the competitors will have been made available some time ago.

He didn't start the offensive rubbish.. The 'FFS' was brought in by Tsunami, who could have explained his point without it.
