Australian Gp Is Back
BWitcher replied to Stats's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wrong end of the stick here. I don't think there is a single person on the forum or in speedway who believes Nicki has never done anything wrong. However, there are many people who judge incidents on their merit and don't let their judgements be clouded by past events.... then there are others who will condone violence, hard/dirty riding, abuse/goading on social media, petty press releases as long as it is against Nicki... all the while ignoring that Nicki has maintained a professional front throughout. These people's views basically have no credence and can be dismissed as deluded fanboys/girls. They're as bad as KKS was with Kenny Bjerre and MJJ. Yes, but while Hughes was under his machine, he whipped out his phone and posted on Masters facebook page he was going to steal his action man figures, didn't you read the Masters statement regarding that incident? -

Nothing sad at all, apart from in the minds of a few deluded souls. -

Predictable? It's amazing what drivel people come out with. In any GP you could realistically say any one of Woffinden, Hancock, Pedersen, Zagar, Iversen, Doyle, Janowski, Kildemand could win it. In fact you could include Holder in that on a good night and at the tail end of the season even Jonsson was right in the mix. -

Yes he did, made several. Once folk had listened to him a number of times they'd be complaining about his stock phrases etc. -

Doyle wouldn't have shut off into the corner against nicki. As its Greg, throttle off. -

Telling him to calm down. Masters the one who started the fights. -

Quite clear they're all out to get nicki today. Masters a prat. They'll make sure Greg gets second too. -
Very true, it would take a very good offer. So highly unlikely.
-
I did, but he's not so great if the formula changes. Not that we have much an option!
-
Because he will still average around the same.. whereas the other heat leaders whose averages plummeted, will rise back up again.. Absolutely 100% spot on
-
Ah, yes, that makes more sense. No, its far cleverer than that. The proposals are rarely, if ever put forward by Ford or Poole. It's more a case of drop a little suggestion to a team here of an idea.. suggest to another how an idea may benefit them there etc.. Sadly the gullible fools fall for it every time! Classic Red Panda, preaches ad nauseam about respecting views and opinions, the moment someone has a different opinion the 'red mist' descends and the abuse starts flying.
-
Scupper it how? He is expecting Andersen to be a heat leader.
-
Wooden spoon written all over it! If the race format is going to change, as it should do under the new proposals, Doyle becomes one of the worst signings available.
-
Yes they will. I can't believe how dumb people are being over this. There are many riders who spent most of the season as a heat leader and have a much lower average as a result. Hans Andersen is one of them. Freddie Lindgren another. Even Chris Holder is much lower. Others rode mostly as a second string and have higher averages. The purpose of the list will be to identify those who are genuine heat leaders. Hans Andersen will be one, as will Freddie Lindgren. What folk aren't figuring out is this is a perfect signing for Poole as along with Holder they have two heat leaders on pretty low averages. They will no doubt add a 3rd. This will then give them scope to sign second string riders on higher averages... namely Davy Watt. Watt would actually start the season as a heat leader, above Andersen. The fact that Newman has a lower average than he should also gives them the extra scope to do this. As per normal Matt Ford knows exactly what he is doing and will snap up the best available riders on the right averages.
-
You might be right, any thread where folk start posting that have no interest in it becomes the height of daftness. Congrats for taking the thread to those levels!

You won't find many employers who will accept.. "Boss, my dad had an operation a few days ago, don't know what's wrong, not too bothered about finding out either, however, its distressing me, so I'll not work in 3 days time if that's ok" Edited to add: In the meantime, if you need me, I'll be playing golf, or down the arcade, not too sure yet!
-
And rightly so usually. Just to clarify AGAIN as some people are continuing to reference it. 6.5 does NOT apply to all new foreign riders. I repeat 6.5 does NOT apply to all new foreign riders. They will be given an assessed average as normal.. any of them that are given an average of 6.5 or above will be added to the heat leader list. That is all it says. So again, NO CHANGE to the assessment of new foreign riders.
-
It doesn't say that. It says any new riders that are assessed at 6.5 or above will be on the heat leader list. Doesn't mean they are all 6.5.
-
Eh? I said if you have a family member in hospital it doesn't render you incapable of doing your job. Not the guy in the hospital of course! The only hilarious thing is people posting on something they have no interest in.
-
No, but you convert it from that. Or has been suggested, you simply have a weighting for each race.
-
Simple answer. Ford is very intelligent. Many of the other promoters are not.
-
He's rode most of the season as a second string, so unlikely to be. Poole will end up with something along the lines of Holder, Dudek, Kennett, Watt, Lambert, Newman, Ellis and walk the league. They have a low averaging no 1, there won't be any decent riders coming back into the league, so if they snap up Dudek they have a massive advantage there, effectively replacing Janowski. They'll secure a bargain low average 3rd heat leader than snap up the best of the 'second strings' of which it wouldn't surprise me Watt is one of them. Normally Watt's 7+ average would be a bad thing, but with the pts limit being high (given the reserves conversions) and the averages of their heat leaders low, they'll be able to fit him in. Spot on. Fair isn't in the vocabulary though!
-
So riders such as Lindgren, Nicholls, Hans Andersen etc.. will no doubt be on the 'heat leader list'. That list will obviously be quite limited as no big names are likely to be attracted to the league. Due to the FTR conversions, the pts limit is going to be high, i.e. teams will be struggling to reach it. It's going to boil down to who can get the best of the non heat leader list... We all know who that will be!

I wondered which Belle Vue fan would be the first! But then you're back to creating problems again and there will be manipulation. Rules need to be hard and fast, whatever they are. Incidentally, in that season, Wolves asked Ipswich to postpone the fixture, Ipswich didn't want too so the match went ahead. Wolves lost by 2. Riders missing were Ronnie Correy, Charles Ermolenko, Graham Jones, Phil Ashcroft and possibly one more. R/R was allowed for Correy, junior riders for the others. Note, junior, not 6.00 PL riders, but juniors. The best Wolves junior was already riding in the team at reserve. Contrast that to a recent situation where a south coast team postpones a match as they would be missing one rider and another certain south-east team rolls over and allows it.
