  1. Or... you might get more semi regular/lasped fans come as they aren't spending their money elsewhere..
  2. Yes, keep the panic and over reaction going. Ignore all medical advice. That's the spirit!
  3. The problem is precisely that its not being left to the experts and the panic mongers must be appeased.. The media has a section of the public too scared now. Some believe its a death sentence if their 14 year old daughter catches it.. yet there is more chance of them being run over by a car than dying from coronavirus. As for imposing all the bans on sports, realistically, if you're doing that over 4800 deaths.. it should never run again in the winter. I read that the CDC figures showed influenza deaths to be over 60,000 in the same time period as Covid-19 has killed 4800. Forget the differences between the two for a moment, and imagine if the media were hyping 60,000 deaths...
  4. Figures say that 20% of those tested positive for it require hospital treatment. There's the significant difference, it is very mild in the majority of cases.. mild enough that you wouldn't even bother going to a doctor or getting it checked. I agree about those with mild symptoms still being infected and going about their daily lives. South Korea is the only country to have done significant testing, including as many as possible with the mildest of symptoms. It's a serious issue for those in the problem groups.. what irks me is insane people (and I've come across them) screaming their child is in danger going to school. No they're not, they're about as likely to get run over by a car as to die from coronavirus... it's them carrying the virus to those more vulnerable that is the issue... as you mentioned.
  5. I can honestly see some major incidents ahead. People are starting to panic already. I've come across several screaming that it's a 'fatal disease' that is spreading 'tremendously fast'. It will soon be at a point where if someone coughs they'll be, as you experienced, told to get lost, leave, stay out out our street.. even get out of the house next to us.. if we reach a point of shops being restricted, food shortages etc, it will be even worse... people will react, fights break out etc. Yes, the problem is serious. No, the death rate is not 4% or whatever figure keeps being quoted. No, everyone isn't going to die. The media will keep whipping up a frenzy and the **** will hit the fan.. that concerns me more than the virus itself.
  6. Typical politically motivated rant. One minute the loons are screaming he doesn't take it seriously, he should be locking things down blah blah.. He does what they want.. they scream he's over reacting.
  7. It's highly probably that thousands of us have got it or already had it. Let's face it, if you have a bit of a cough and a mild cold do you rush to your doctor? No. If you called the dedicated lines in England with mild symptoms, you are told to stay at home, you aren't tested. The only country that has adopted a thorough testing process is South Korea. They've tested 140,000 so far and as a result the death rate works out at 0.76% there. Even then they haven't tested everyone as mentioned above, many with the milder symptoms won't get tested, so the actual death rate will be lower.
  8. Rightly so. Olympiakos owner has been in UK for 2 weeks.. and seems caught it in the UK. All Olympiakos staff and players have tested negative. There has been a death from Covid-19 in Wolverhampton.. zero in Athens. 373 cases in UK... 80 in Greece... 0 in Athens I believe. Game being played behind closed doors. They're 'safer' there than here... not that they are in any danger whatsoever anyway.
  9. Yep, Wolves due to play Olympiakos (who he also owns) on Thursday in Athens. Game already due to be behind closed doors. Now likely to be called off.
  10. Dr Harries on BBC Breakfast News: "The virus will not survive very long outside," she said. "Many outdoor events, particularly, are relatively safe."" So self isolate and stay indoors... errmmm...
  11. 600 v 1... hmm.. As ever, the gullible minorities get wound up by the media and governments are forced to act to appease them. https://www.express.co.uk/news/science/1233679/coronavirus-update-symptoms-flu-2020-china-flu-deaths
  12. Older patient, in and out of hospital, sounds like was on last legs with or without coronavirus.
  13. So.. there's a vaccine.. and there's still 12-16,000 died from it in the US.. Whereas the one without a vaccine has killed 2 in the US.
  14. 3% based upon those they know who have had it.. factor in all those who have likely had it and it drops massively. Deaths are investigated.. people with a mild cold are not.
  15. People are dying every day from virus related illnesses.. in their millions. By your logic, you're happy to let them die it seems.
  16. One should also consider that the vast majority of those 2% had pre-existing health conditions too.. some even died from other causes but happened to have Coronavirus at the time..
  17. You're the one being hysterical.
  18. Remind me where NKI finished in the final GP of last season?
  19. You have to understand Sidney. He doesn't base how good a rider is by how many races they win. He can just tell. He could watch 4 riders race 50 times.. but the results of those races wouldn't influence him in the slightest. Never mind if Rider 1 ends up with an 11pt average at the end of it.. FORGET AVERAGES he likes to say, they're meaningless. Rider 4 who averaged 0.50 is better. I think the speedway rules have been devised by muppets personally. The team scoring the most pts winning matches..FORGET THE PTS! Let's have Sidney judge each race and award style pts to who he thinks is best.
  20. Of course top 5's are a different issue altogether.
  21. Phil Crump returned in 1990. Some reserves were literally half a lap behind in those days. You had riders such as Bryan Larner, Phil Disney, Max Schofield, Mike Lewthwaite, Andy Meredith, Lee Coleman, Mark Robinson, David Haynes, John Bostin, Paul Dugard, Nathan Murray, David Steen to give a few examples. They weren't quality and far far lower than current reserves are.
  22. Why not? That's his wife, married not long ago. Good to see them doing something that clearly means a lot to them.. and enjoying life.
  23. Fair play, many would dream of making such a video with their loved one. Great memories for them to look back on. I hardly think they were expecting 'critical acclaim'. In a world full of doom and gloom and negativity, nice to see something positive.
  24. Indeed, I was surprised at that given the posts on this forum. That does make it all the more positive for Ipswich I believe and it isn't just a 'working holiday' so to speak.
