I must disagree with some of that, he was at least excited about the racing. Thousand times better than someone just talking in a monotone voice about something that is meant to be edge of the seat and thrilling. That said, for prolonged periods it would be more annoying and certainly for 'less exciting' races.

Swindon - Coventry 4.7.16 On Sky
BWitcher replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Here's the PL snobs again. You will find reading this thread, the EL fans will say it wasn't a great meeting. Unlike you who thinks every average PL meeting is brilliant. The racing was no better last Wednesday than tonight, in fact it was arguably worse. However, last Wednesday had a cracking atmosphere so it papered that over. The meeting on Monday last week was absolutely awful.. there have also been awful meetings shown in the EL too. -
There is a classic race between Ryan Sullivan and Mikael Karlsson from 1996, run off for the bonus pt at Peterborough. I have two versions of it, one with Mike Bennett commentating, the other with the guy who used to commentate from the centre green I think at Coventry, not sure of his name. Anyway, same race, but one of them comes across as one of the most exciting races ever, the other bores you to death. JSD Videos I think it was, they did Coventry and Peterborough.

I absolutely loved MBI videos production quality, the only thing lacking I'm afraid was the commentary which was soooo flat. This race is a classic example of that, super exciting race, crowd going wild and Mike Bennet may as well be commentating on Bowls. They get some abuse, but Nige and Kelvin commentating would have made that race seem multiple times more exciting on screen.

Bless. Another load of baloney.

That is my point, there is no need for them to be two leagues apart is there. Cradley get just gates just as big as Wolves and would get even higher at a higher level. I know personally quite a few Cradley fans who don't go to NL racing but would return if they were in a higher league. They won't be the only ones. However, it's easy money in the NL. Just think how packed it would be for Wolves/Cradley clashes at Monmore, with it being the home circuit for both. Now THAT would be a meeting to be shown on Sky.

Yes, Houses are now where Dudley Wood used to be.

Wolves v Cradley. It angers me that we could and should still be experiencing that right now.

The overwhelming majority of snobbery comes from PL fans. This post sums that up, pretty much every single EL meeting on Sky has been superb. Most of them BETTER than what we saw last night in terms of racing.. FAR better in fact. There were TWO passes last night after the first half a lap all night.. that's poor. However, what WAS good about last night was the atmosphere and credit must go to Glasgow for that. It re enforces the point I have long made, the racing isn't all that important when it comes to TV meetings, it's the atmosphere. An average meeting (as last night was at the very best) can look good on TV with a good atmosphere. I notice you didn't post after the even worse dross that was served up on Monday night, by far the worst meeting there has been on Sky this year? You can get good speedway at all levels, whether its EL, PL or NL. This constant game of one upmanship is childish. Ah yes.. that must be it. If only the EL had playoffs and there was a battle to get into them.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
BWitcher replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You really have no boundaries do you. On this thread you've used.. The sadly missed Rob Woffinden. Gavans passed away relatives and now you're dragging Jo Cox and the Orlando victims into your sick argument. -
A perfect start from Pawlicki pulled back again. Time and again in both the GP and League meetings, riders of 2 and 3 are being pulled back for good starts, simply because the tapes are going up slower there. That replay clearly showed Pawlicki went after the magnets dropped and the outside began to go up. Bless.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

It has no relevance. Riding in the British Championships is optional. He decided not to ride in them, it's as simple as that. -

You do talk some nonsense. Cardiff and Belle Vue are already in his schedule, he then chooses what else to add to his schedule. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
BWitcher replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There is no case to be made. It's an OPTIONAL meeting that Tai decided not to enter. That is the end of it. -
As Humphrey says it's not that difficult at all to create formulae to simulate realistic race results. As others no doubt did as a kid I'd invent simulations for all sorts of sports just involving a couple of dice, ranging from the very simple to quite complex. Computers simply open up far more scope for detail.

Indeed, classic PK.

The foolishness of your question beggers belief. You and others have a point when you can say you're not happy he didn't ride in the British Semi/Final.. but you do make a fool of yourselves when you come out with such nonsense as this. Of course.. now I wonder why I can go to speedway meetings in the UK on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday during a week in August.. but I can't do it other weeks of the year.. Ah yes, that's because I'm on holiday that week and am in the country. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
BWitcher replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Ah, you mean refuse to represent his country a la Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson? I would agree his commitment to GB could then be questioned. As it is now, he simply hasn't rode in an INDIVIDUAL meeting. i.e. he has turned down the chance for INDIVIDUAL glory.. but will still represent his country for TEAM glory. -
More evidence of the pts system being great in last nights Sky meeting. Without it, would we have seen such a fantastic race between NKI and KK in Heat 15?

Correct, he might. Why put yourself in a position to lessen your performance? He will have planned his schedule as best he can to ensure he a: Earns well b: Stays in optimal shape/condition -

I could go and work for another company for less money if I wanted too. However, I don't.. maybe I need to get some better advice. Could be missing out.. -
King's Lynn V Coventry Bees (sky) Wed 22nd June
BWitcher replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You clearly haven't been watching Sky meetings this year as we have been treated to some excellent meetings all season long, particularly the last three or four. A typical nonsensical comment. Coventry were operating Rider replacement so their reserves had 12 rides, compared to 9 from Kings Lynn. -

"We've got a job for you Speedy, it's in another country... you'll have to get the equipment there for it. That'll cost you a couple of grand, but don't worry we'll pay you £100 for it". I'm sure you'd be rushing to do it.
