Let's not forget also, you're effectively paying to go watch tv. -
Could Speedway Move Forward With A Hearn Type.?

Of course Voice of Reason also fails to mention that when Hearn took over the club they played in a ramshackle of a stadium (if it could even be called that), with an ever decreasing capacity due to health and safety. Indeed, one could compare it with many speedway stadia today. Hearn in his tenure built new stands on all four sides of the ground leaving the club with a very smart stadium for their level indeed. -
Could Speedway Move Forward With A Hearn Type.?

You're right. We most certainly wouldn't want speedway teams to be like Leyton Orient were under Hearn. A club on the verge of bankruptcy and losing money season after season when Hearn took over turned into one of THE most financially stable clubs in the UK. When Hearn left they had just lost on penalties for promotion to the Championship. Something almost achieved without spending big money on players or indeed ANY money on players, simply through good management and a well run club. Hearn sold up and left and within 2 years Orient are in total disarray. Voice of Reason in his attempt to disparage Hearn has only achieved to highlight what a good job he did. Whether or not Hearn could do the same for speedway is an entirely different argument but not one that can be dismissed by linking to his record at Orient. -
Just saw this news on Facebook and was deeply saddened. As many have already said, Bryn was Mr Speedway. His distinctive voice was recognisable instantly and in my mind is one of the 'sounds' I associate with the sport. I only met him the one time as I can recall, there was an issue ( I don't recall what ) that I needed help with and I popped into the office at Lakeside and Bryn sorted it in no time. After that we had a good 15 minute chat about the sport in general. Thoroughly nice gentleman and a very sad loss to the sport and more importantly, his family. My deepest condolences to his friends, family and loved ones. RIP Bryn Williams. Mr Speedway.

Ah I see you're thinking now. If your fifth best rider isn't a world beater it's a poor signing. Didn't realise the Premiership was so strong!
-
Just wondering what your opinion is of the Wolves team this season. Not sure if you've mentioned it yet.
-
Really? His debut against Lakeside is reported as one of the biggest gates of the season.
-
We don't know.. Woffy wasn't exactly unbeatable that night on his 'best' engine was he? PK had a similar return in the league meeting at Belle Vue on his own equipment.
-
Wolves would have made the playoffs with or without the change. Then, in the playoffs itself, Woffinden scored 7+1 from 5 rides... riding as a second string at Poole. Kylmo scored 10+1 as a heat leader there in the league match he rode. Woffy then scored 13+1 from five in the 2nd leg, again as a second string. Given the opposition that night, it's unlikely Kylmo would have scored many less if at all. In the final, Woffy scored 8+2 from 4 at home from second string and 11 (9 without the double pts) from 4 in the away leg, again from second string. Let's not forget Wolves won the final by 10pts. So, in terms of contribution on track there really wasn't much in it. Where we did benefit was PK riding on Woffy's engine at Belle Vue and the psychological factor. Nothing to suggest though that Wolves wouldn't have won the playoffs without the change, the best that can be argued is that it may have been a little harder.

There were actually no 7's just as weak, if not weaker in the late 80's, early 90's in the top flight. Of course the rest of the relevant teams were far stronger.
-
Clearly you don't know what I mean. Wolves have won the league in 91,96,02,09 and then 16. As said, if you are referring to 'fate' we were a year early.
-
Maths not your strong point either is it? If you want to go down the 'fate' route, we're due to win this year... last year wasn't supposed to happen
-
Here we go again.. "Just don't call it top level". Name me a higher standard league in the UK? I suspect you won't be able too, which makes the Premiership the top level league.
-
Never fear, Sudden Sam has had his knee fixed. He'll be good to go by mid summer
-
Me thinks waiheke was being a tad sarcastic.
-
Point proven within 17 mins!
-
That would make us very strong.
-
Which would be awful.

Top 20 Riders In The World 2016

Constructive as ever. You do realise these are based upon actual results not some pie in the sky fantasy? -
Most of these posters get labelled as KKS, few of them are. Gater1/MonsterDaz is a completely different type of poster. All the flak that 'KKS' gets for 'aliases' is mostly unfounded. He has quite legitimately changed his username on multiple occasions, the history of which can be seen on MorriseyFans profile. That's a completely different issue to having multiple accounts, in actual fact, it's not an issue at all.
-
Interesting.. who did win it then?
-
Anyone seen Gater1 lately? Unusual isn't it he hasn't posted since 25th November... normally so vociferous. Just to add, he made two posts in 25th November, aside from that nothing at all since 17th November. I'm sure it's just a co-incidence that 'Monster Daz' suddenly started posting at that very same time and hasn't shut up since!
-
Or another foot in mouth attack on their fans expressing opinions?
-
Although, wasn't it the Wolves promotion who have stated this was a significant reason?
-
Why would you want to sign Harris over Thorssell, a rider whom you have watched develop year on year and is now blossoming into a very good rider? If you'd watched ANY of Adam Skornicki at Monmore you wouldn't be trolling the thread with this nonsense of him being 15 years past his best. He's been the same consistent second string/3rd heat leader for Wolves for over a decade. Solid as a rock, will finish the year between 6 and 7 average and can beat anyone on his day. As for Howarth ( a signing I questioned ).. how do you assert he was 'obviously' signed as the second Brit? Have Wolves completed their team then? I can see the thinking behind this.. but.. a few bad races at Monmore, like happened in his previous year and his confidence could soon go. I'd actually say it's more of a gamble but with a potential higher pay off.
