Has Sky Had Enough Of The Gp
BUDGIE replied to nibs's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
.....so I asked them about the red button thing, this is what came back: Hi Keith Thanks for your email about Speedway. I was sorry to read of your unhappiness with the broadcasting of this sport. Due to other scheduling committments, and the sheer volume of sport we are showing, we have to utilise all of the Sky Sports channels. We also have to make use of the red button facility to show certain fixtures. I have taken note of the points raised in your email and passed these on to Sky Sports. Kind regards Angela Hart Viewer Relations If I could be bothered we would have a follow up that says Thanks, but what are they going to do about it! Guess I should just shut up and watch Andy 'yawn yawn' Murray or even worse, the Germans kicking around!, and be greatful for all this sport they are showing! At least they answered! -
Agree with most of this Phil, however cant agree that even with shale that Harris would be any better, it is one thing passing Nicolai Klindt and Cam Woodward from the back (no offence to either of them intended) but it is a totally different propostion to pass Crump, Pedersen, Hancock, and on the evidence of last night even Ulamek once they are out of the traps! What Harris needs to do is find a way of getting out of the gate! (although that might make things a bit boring!), and that is in his own hands not any track preperation guys! Cheers K PS Thought it was boring last night!, title chase is over and I thought no edge to the meeting, perhaps its just me???

That is your opinion, to which you are entitled to, but its not mine and its not the opinion of the people who matter, ie the Team GB management
-
Perhaps because he was broadcasting to Britain, and further than that most people watching would have wanted England to win. (although obviously there is nothing wrong in wanting another nation to win!) Also Denmarks changes were forced on them, in contrast England seem to have taken a policy decision to try to get better in the long term

Indeed, why shouldnt a fine Country such as Scotland have a team?. Would be interesting to see how they would get on. -

Too true, why we persist with Team GB I'll never know. It should be England Cheers K -
Lots of action going on @ Premier Inn. Rooms were available last night @ Cardiff City South, and I switched to there, this freed up rooms at Cardiff Roath whilst Cardiff West has had rooms for sometime. Hope this is of help to anyone not fixed up yet. PS City South only lets you book 2 nights not 1.

Stayed there for 4 years or so. Buses every half an hour into the centre, stop just outside the Beefeater which is attached to the PTI Bus takes longer than you might imagine to get to the Central Bus Station, probably 50 mins to do the 9 miles! (kids liked it though as they never usually use Public Transport) Never caught a bus back as the time was later and we had young kids in tow, however always got a taxi to pick us up from the Tudor Street Garage, which is a short walk from the Mill Stad across a bridge! (thus cutting out jams!) Will be easier to catch a bus back with the earlier finish

I think that Pedersen was past Emil, and the ref got this wrong on this occasion. Not that any of our opinions matter as the official result will not be altered. The worrying thing for me is a lack of consistency amongst the referees. Didnt the outsides guys get excluded at Cardiff last year for something similar. (I think it happened twice???)

Good news, have cracked the password on the excellent (and free) 2007 Excel spreadsheet. Have updated it for 2009 If anyone wants a copy let me know by eMail and I will send it to you password free, you can then play with it to your hearts content. May not be able to send it to you today as I've got to go footballing soon! keith.burrows@heathens.freeserve.co.uk -

What difference does it make that the tickets havent arrived, they still have your money whether you have a bit of paper or not. If you dont like it buy on the day as there will be plenty, if you dont want to do that then you will have to give them the money for a while. Why get ticked off when you knew the rules? Couldnt possibly comment on your last line

British Gp Ticket Prices / Stadium Plan
BUDGIE replied to heathen79's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Steve, we have found (taking a number of kids along!) that it is actually better to be sort of on the line between where the crowd starts thinning out. They get a bit restless if penned in on all sides. It also gives you more opportunity to spread out a bit. We started when Charlotte was 7 months! in the North Stand about N1, returned there in the second year and then started to be 'nomads', we where down the front of that stand (second tier) and the view was good, always remember Tomas Goillob forgetting to turn in his first race! In the third year we ended up in U31 which was the press box overflow, little desk in front of us and I scrounged a plate of sandwiches from the press boys who where obviously not that hungry. Good view opposite the tapes, but prices in this area have now been re-categorised! We then migrated to U21 and our highest ever view due to a ticketing cock up, we where on about row 14 , which was about the dividing line between crowd and empty seats, thats when our love of space occurred, we could move around and gesture to everyone in our group, (too noisy to talk!) This view was stright down the back straight and despite our original worries was fine, I then missed the Harris SGP due to a wedding, but last year we where in U11 or 12, another good viewing point about 30 yards behind the tapes, will send you a photo, all of these where bought using a family ticket so by definition where the lowest prices. I would urge against any L blocks as these for me are far to low down and always look really crowded, also rprts of a hemmed in feeling any no atmosphere are circulating, although I've never been there myself. From my experience anything up to about row 15 of the upper tier is an acceptable view, but after that you really do become detached and need binoculars, I have watched from the very top but it is 'high' and far away! Will send you a picture from U12 -
..but you dont know if Pedersen or NKI turned the invitation down, therefore the line up maybe the Top 15 (available) riders in the world. Its all a bit irrelevant anyway, can anyone see the 2009 World Champion coming from anyone outside the 2008 Top 6? Therefore as long as they are in it the rest, to some extent, dont matter
-
Sorry I still dont understand that at all, Ulamek and Walasek didnt compete amongst the top 16, therefore the best that thay can be is below 16th. Nicholls finished 9th! If you are somehow trying to suggest that Ulamek and/or Walasek are 'better' than Nicholls then our discusion is over, as it is not worth my time discussing it with you.
-
Sorry dont understand this logic at all, perhaps I'm thick. Scott Nicholls finished 9th in the World Championship in 2008, where did Ulamek and Walasek finish?, even the best estimate must be greater than 16th?

Italian Gp, Lonigo - 27 September 2008
BUDGIE replied to Bezza's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Absolutely spot on Paulco. How anyone can fail to see the difference between those incidents is beyond me. Perhaps their personal agendas cloud their views????? Good news for the series then, lets hope he sticks to that decison. -
I thought that the generally accepted position of UK promoters was that the GP is the cause of all of their problems and troubles? Is this not so?
