  1. Wooohoooooooo!!! Go Bomber!!! Great to see him given a chance, he's worked hard for it.
  2. Stop the Madness!! Is there a venue in England that could currently support crowds of 40K+ AND would be happy to have it's ground ripped up to lay a track? And most importantly could guarantee to host the British GP whatever the weather?
  3. This is where I disagree with this format. The highest scoring rider (love him/hate him/loathe him) who has been consistent goes out on the result of one heat. Surely that can't be truly reflective of the riders ability? Just a kick in the teeth for his mechanics?
  4. Of course it's fixed!! The terms "bums on seats" and "box office takings" spring to mind here....... Although, I do think that Lindback deserves his shot!
  5. I agree. Consistency should be the key, rather than an engine failure or jumping the tapes.
  6. Middlo, thanks for posting! I can't think of many International Team Managers who would communicate with the fans this way. If any! But, don't you even dare say that we won't remember this World Cup! I was at Arlington when Team GB went straight through to the final. I thought the atmosphere that night was electric! Then followed two other meetings, memorable for different reasons...... (we won't mention the Eastbourne black out here...... oopps!! I guess I just did!) But as for forgetting the Final! Well, I won't. Ever! The atmosphere was way above "being electric"! To be at Poole, and to be part of that event was just amazing! The Team rode like demons! I am not going to pick out individual performances, because there wasn't a weak link in the team of 6. Yes, I would have been ecstatic to have watched the celebrations with Team GB as No 1 on the podium! As would the rest of the GB supporters. But, jeez!! You guys did a great job! Not only for your country (which is GB not England!) but to speedway in general. I can't imagine how anyone could watch the final (whether by design or accident!!) and not want to watch more speedway!! Roll on the next World Cup!
  7. There are a lot of reasonably priced family run bed and breakfast places in Cathedral Road in Cardiff. This is very near the stadium (maybe 5 -10 minutes walk). If you search at yell.com for guest houses (rather than hotels) in Cardiff then you should get a lot of hits. Hope this helps.
