Track staff did an excellent job. As mentioned in this thread , the racing was a typical Prague meeting. If a hat-trick of wins at the Czech SGP makes Vaculik - King of the Marketa does that meeting make Tai - Prince Harry.
-
Marketa the racing is always as dull as dishwater. At least the weather over the weekend has given them an excuse for this SGP but generally a better city for drinking than racing. Woffinden looks like a junior out there tonight. He obviously has zero confidence in his machinery and is starting to back out of situations in the first turn.

Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
Hackett replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Be interesting what way Ipswich go in terms of a replacement. I thought they would look at Lambert but the idea of Vaculik could work as an alternative. Guess will depend on logistics and £££$$$. Speedy and full recover Doyley !! Started the season really strongly - get yourself fit and come back stronger. -
King’s Lynn vs Ipswich - Thurs 23rd May
Hackett replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Speedy recovery to Jason Doyle. A good result for the Witches and a great effort from guest Ton Brennan but has come at great cost if as reported Doyley has a broken arm. If correct, can imagine Louis won't waste anytime organising a replacement and be on the phone to Lambert or Lindgren to cover. -
Oxford vs Belle Vue - Thurs 23rd May

Janowski is a shocker at the moment. He seems to be struggling at Wroclaw at the moment as well. Imagine he is on top dollar and Oxford seem to be very ambitious I wonder how long the promotion gives him. -
Jason doyle and the holders

Great to hear that story. In the days of Eastbourne my kids would always go into the pits and speak to the riders. Remember my daughter making a friendship bracelet for Cameron Woodward and was grinning from ear to ear when he gave her some CWR stickers in exchange for it. With the closure of Arlington it is not possible to get to tracks during the week but in Half Term we managed to get to Oxford for the meeting vs Ipswich and they were able to get photos with Emil Sayfutdinov and Doyley who was talkative and very amenable when they asked for a photo. -

If Wojdylo is still at reserve he could be getting seven rides if his form is similar to his last meeting against the Brummies. -
British Final 2024

100% - Woffinden and Lambert will be using it as a test meeting. -
Decent meeting tonight. The track prep looked spot-on and good to see ex-Eastbourne Eagle Mikkel Michelsen win his first SGP. Amazing that Gate 3 was a graveyard until the semi-final and final. Bewley did say that it wasn't that bad when interviewed although he did then go out and promptly ran a last from gate 3. Lambert again close but no cigar making a mistake in the semi-final when kerbing it. Bewley missed the start for whatever reason. Onto Prague what is traditionally processional.

Oxford vs King’s Lynn - Thurs April 25th

Spires with a handy guest in scott Nicholls. Bad nights for Wright , Harris and more worryingly Janowski again. Tungate maintaining his excellent form. Expected the Stars to get pumped but looks like a decent effort especially by Musielak. V -
Birmingham's results are no surprise. Prior to the season starting most had said the team was the weakest and they were fortunate to have Nicholls as guest as the Premiership started. That certainly worked in their favour, as riders got up to speed at the start of the season. Unfortunately I can only see the situation getting worst at Perry Barr, it will be interesting on Monday to see how they get on in the televised Eurosport meeting against the Aces strong top 4 - Kurtz, Lidsey, Bewley and Cook.

Speedway of Nations 2024

SoN - Really in the balance for me. We were planning to go to the SoN2 / Final (Fri + Sat) - 3 adults and a 14 year old. Hotel is £450 for the two days , SoN £380/£245 approx depending on whether standing or sitting. Not included return train from London and then of course food and drinks over the weekend. So for a weekend in Manchester, all in probably looking at £1000+ I will see what the kids want to do BUT personally I would rather spend more and go to Torun for a SGP. When I first saw the cost I don't think they will be needing the temp stand on bends 3/4 -

Wont be at the Crucible for much longer. Sounds like Hearn has sold his soul to the Saudi's = All in the manner of business of course. -
The British Final 2024 will be on a Saturday night. From the British Speedway website. British Final will take place at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium on Saturday, June 8. British Speedway is delighted to be able to confirm the prime summer date for the major event, with the move to a weekend evening staging likely to be warmly welcomed by supporters. Prior warning the ParkLife Festival is on in Manchester that weekend and the hotel prices are similar to Cardiff. I wonder with a full season in British Speedway and with the event a month before the SoN whether Tai Woffinden will make a return.

Glad Kemp has got a spot for '24. He seemed to mature a little last year at Scunthorpe and in his PL appearances hopefully he can continue on the upward curve. Interesting to read he was happy to miss Championship as he wanted to concentrate on Poland but then was talked round by Dickson.
-
That could be a long season for the Gladiators with those 5 riders. Looks like a team of second strings at best - appreciate that Barker + Bowtell are able to put decent scores at home but that looks woefully short. Happy that the Thompson Twins have a Championship spot as they both seem to find themselves being the fall guys when changes are made. Plymouth fans at least you have got a speedway team.
-
Think the Belle Vue side is pretty solid. Brady Kurtz, Dan Bewley give you the two out and out heatleaders. Jaimon Lidsey has progressed season to season and offers a strong option at 3rd heatleader. Norick Blodorn has plenty of Premiership + NSS experience. Was impressed with the Connor Mountain on the occasion I saw him at the British Final. Connor Bailey is developing and will contribute at home at reserve and Ben Cook was excellent last season if he can continue his development the Aces will be competitive. Not as immediately impressive as the Sheffield Tigers but can see them being ultra competitive again.

Clarke Osborne is nothing more than a parasite.

Whoever your loyalty is with it is just great to see Sayfutdinov racing in Britain again. Sheffield is the team to beat but Witches look pretty strong if Rew + Jenkins can maintain their development. -

Think most in speedway would want to see Sayfutdinov back in British Speedway next season if the format allows. Cetrtainly Warner Bros Sports will do. -
Could do with a prime Gollob / Rickardsson / Crump also. Nicki P was box office and was the reason he was so doted at Eastbourne Eagles. Out and out #1 was a hard rider and wanted to win. He probably saw the opportunity that the angry man bed persona could make him box office or more money. From experiences of my family bumping into him at Cardiff he seems a very open and polite imdividual - Polar opposite to his mantra once in kevlars.

Never had understood the idea of watching a load of old bangers drivers round smashing into each other. Might as well as sit on a bridge on M25 and watch all the cars escaping ULEZ charges.
