  1. Last time at the SoN in Manchester the standing areas had additional catering behind the stand. The Grandstand always struggles to cope - British Final a couple of years back it ran out of food and beer.
  2. Can't see Wed semi final being as well supported as this evening. No Poland support and England in the Euro's. This has always been the issue in the SoN.
  3. Wishing Tate Ziscke a speedy recovery sounds like a nasty crash from all the reports.
  4. Expected Tigers to get blitzed by Oxford. Solid effort from Pickering, Howarth and Holder to keep the score to 6 points only. However Tungate and Harris did the job in ht15.
  5. Absolutely shocking - sounds a serious break. Bad enough when you knock your elbow let alone break it in four places. Good to see that Wroclaw helped get him an expert to do the operation. As in Tai's statement cant move or lift his elbow for foreseeable future. Wish him a speedy recovery.
  6. Not enough has been said about how rubbishe the track was. Yes it was a blistering day but for a track to be that overwatered in Ht1 and a race-line 2cms from the air fence after one heat needs to be questioned. Vaculik in the Instagram Live said the track is very different from an Ekstraliga meeting and no advantage being a "home rider". Hancock even with his Monster/FIM love in said that the track is better in Ekstraliga and reading between the lines even in his conservative state was critical of the track. Can imagine that the SoN at Manchester will be slicker than a strippers bikini line.
  7. Woffinden has been excellent value in the British League but that soil sample looks as though that is his season done. Blame the track prep over watering and making it a one racing line 2cms from the airfence. Vaculik was saying that the track prep is very different for Ekstraliga but they have no say in the SGP meets and it is no advantage being a home rider. Even Hancock wearing his SGP Monster hat reading between the lines said the track was very different from a Ekstraliga meeting. Playoff Bob has to be the answer for Sheffield with Steady using his Team GB persuasion.
  8. Saw the Tolley interview on social media. Why would you put new shale down on the track the day before a meeting against your Wooden Spoon rivals and the hottest day of the year. Unfortunately the results for Birmingham are no surprise , they are a team of 2nd strings and one heat leader. When your reserves outscore the oppo reserves 15 - 5 and you have a full team you shouldn't be getting beat. Admittedly the Stars picked well in their choice of guests but the Brummies were on for a hiding to nothing all season.
  9. Noted in the Speedway Star this week Phillip Hellstrom-Bangs stating that he is only racing in Sweden and hoping for more team places. "I am only racing in Sweden , racing the best riders just once a week. I hope this meeting will help me to get me noticed by other clubs around Europe. That's what I am looking for." Not claiming that he is the answer to the Stars problems but they need riders and he likes big tracks. Lebedevs is another who would not be as expensive as other SGP riders and is not afraid to mix it with the SGP stars. Another rider that seems better on the bigger tracks. Although looking at the table unlikely Stars make the Play-Offs so perhaps Promotion will go for one guest and r/r.
  10. Still undergoing further tests. Shame for the guy he has been so unlucky for injuries, Wish him a speedy recovery.
  11. Hoping that the Klindt injuries are not too serious but didn't look a great fall.
  12. Not a great night on the SGP betting for me. Mikkelsen to be on podium Holder to win SGP Woffinden over 5 Madsen over 7 Kvech over 3 Holder vs Fricke Mikkelsen vs Woffinden Lambert vs Bewley Huckenbeck vs Nilsson My Bet365 may be needing a top up after Gorzow
  13. The track staff did an amazing job to get the meeting on. Glad I was watching on TV because with that downpour and 2hr plus wait , I would of left but watched the Euros and returned to speedway for Heat 1. The track got better as the meeting went on and provided some decent racing. As for the Zmarzlik he is simply the best of this era. To do what he has done consistently SGP after SGP , year after year is phenomenal effort. He rode the nuts of the bike this evening and looked way quicker than other riders and was also brave to stick the bike in the dirt with his outside passes. In the final , it was a case of hoping Holder or Fricke gated because if Zmarzlik gated he would be gone as was the case. Lebedevs have a decent meeting and was getting involved. Lambert getting into the final and getting a place on the podium from Gate4 was positive. As for Woffinden he seems to be going backwards in the SGP. After first couple of races seemed to have some pace at the end of the meeting but was either getting beaten up or making poor decisions in the race. Gorzow next round a track Zmarzlik knows well. Hopefully Vaculik and Wozniak on their home track are more competitive for that one.
  14. But they invested in a Drone !! and I don't mean the commentary team.
  15. 100% - What makes it worse is that the SCB excepts this sh*tshow of an excuse and then validates it.
  16. Should be an excellent learning experience for him. Good to see a British rider qualify and if he can qualify for a final and make the top 8 , he will have done well. The Poles will be the riders to beat and the Ukrainian blitzed his qualifier but hopefully Leon can be competitive and get amongst the points in the three rounds.
  17. Thought it was a decent meeting. No rider dominated and the 2 tyres and having to think when to change the tyre or use the other edge gave it a slightly different tactical element.. Overall thought Bewley, Brennan and Woffinden were the standouts. Bewley with an excellent pass in the final and good to see former Eastbourne Eagle Tom Brennan qualify for British SGP at Cardiff. He has come a long way from his first race in the National League at Arlington that didn't last more than turn 1. Was also impressed with Anders Rowe who was in amongst it and deserves recognition for his efforts. Overall a pretty enjoyable meeting and the good to see a decent crowd and possibly the biggest flag in British Speedway - Redcar Bears
  18. Tai is badly out of form on the SGP and Polish scene but in the UK he is picking up decent points in most meetings apart from Kings Lynn on Thurs. Although he may not go as well as Musielak did last year around Foxhall. Tai Woffinden 9 43 99 4 9.21 9.58 27 6 6 2 2 0 Jack Holder 8 35 76 6 8.69 9.37 17 10 5 1 1 1 Chris Holder 9 41 86 4 8.39 8.78 21 10 3 4 2 1
  19. Could Chapman be announcing a "new" pit gate ??
  20. Back in the days of Poole vs Eastbourne there was always the blue groove on the inside at Wimborne Road.
  21. He said the other week that he was spinning and changed everything and was back to square one. If anything he looked woefully short of speed at the Marketa and this evening in Poland had two good rides and 2 poor ones - One step forward two steps back. He is the "Monster poster boy" but in simple terms Vaculik got more points in the Marketa SGP than Woffinnden has scored all series and the only rider has scored less is Kvech. So he is a long way from a Wild-Card spot. Guaranteed he is frustrated with the whole situation and hope he can turn the corner and pick up his results in the SGP / Ekstraliga.
  22. Congratulations to Sam Hagon !! Thought it may have come a little early for him BUT fairplay improved as the meeting went on. Fully deserved.
  23. Could he get bombed out by Wroclaw ... can they make changes like British Speedway ??? Janowski was much improved in this meeting.
  24. The Brummies reserve pairing should keep this close.
  25. This should be a shoot-out between Dan Thompson and Leon Flint. Have a little more race experience than majority of the field. Flint not in great form but has track advantage and when I have seen Dan Thompson he looks to have improved this season.
