  1. Janowski will only get better with experience and in the watered down elite league should be a core part of the Pirates jigsaw for 2014.
  2. Nilsson fully deserves his chance. When he was signed it looked / was just a cheap stopgap as the side had more in the averages to teambuild with BUT to be fair Nilsson got himself dialled in and proved sceptic fans wrong. In the Championship of Sussex he was excellent. In truth , Gustaffson and Lahti had plenty of opportunities to prove there worth and secure a team slot for 2014 and both failed to deliver. Dryml was unlucky with injuries but rarely offered much away from Arlington. Nilsson took his opportunity and fully deserves his slot in the team.
  3. I believe Mikkelsen didn't ride enough meetings to become an Eastbourne asset however Eagles get first option on whether to use him. MM on the average has to be signed but in fairness the promotion know that and said the very same at back end of last season. Just depends if Danish sponsors & commitments etc allow him to ride Sat nights. All Eastbourne fans want him back.
  4. Blackbird was top dog for Dudley and they didn't do too bad last season did they?? Home track Wolverhampton, so should be able to turn the bike left quickly. Halsey rode for Mildenhall which is another small track.
  5. Fully deserved was impressed with Josh Grajczonek when I saw him and he was excellent in the Grand Final. If he continues his development will be a strong second string for Poole.
  6. Good to see Lewis Bridger has signed .. still think if he can get everything sorted behind the scenes he can continue to make strides in the sport. Be interesting to see who the Hammers look to lead them at no.1 this season.
  7. No surprises, but in a diluted Elite League gives us a decent enough no.1 and Cam is the heartbeat of the Eagles. Mikkelsen is the key on his average , then take one of either Gustaffson / Dryml / Lahti and a new rider.
  8. Speedway is a minority sport and BBC has no interest in it. Speedway could neither neither rely on the fashionable or politically correct nomination. Would imagine a still of Woffy will feature in a montage and that will be it.
  9. Bech has signed for Lakeside which I think is a great signing for Hammers. The team with the difficult track to ride was Peterborough, with whom he was in talks with. Shame because I think he could of been an excellent signing. Andersen has signed for Coventry so another potential #1 has been signed elsewhere.
  10. Strong rumours is King is heading to Coventry.
  11. Mikkelsen and CJW need to be the first two names signed. With Andersen, Bjerre, Pedersen, Nicholls there are options at number 1 but Agreed Mikkelsen on that average is a must. The other rider to target is Bech who is in talks with an Elite team.
  12. I would guess that the promotion were hoping that Sky Sports sponsorship would of taken the edge of the financial situation .. With that unlikely to be determined before the AGM I guess they counted there losses and walked away. Personally I would of done the same , with attendances of 770 and having to pay a rent to the EoS its a no win situation. Throw in the loss of Sky Sports money and main sponsor it pretty much a no brainer business wise.
  13. Be interesting to see who they target as a No.1 ... Kasperzak, Bjerre or King could all be good signings.
  14. Harris, Hansen and Fisher .. In the diluted Elite League that is pretty decent trio to have signed up. Add Danny King, Scott Nicholls to that or even a Bjerre and a strong quartet.
  15. Big links to Gustaffson and Lahti being on ideal averages for a diluted Elite League in the last programme in Trevor Geers notes , I seem to recall. I think most on the terraces would say its imperative that we keep Mikkelsen he will only get better. Gustaffson and Lahti are on great averages in the new league but how many chances do you want to give somebody. Noted Danny King has handed in a transfer request today , I know Arlington isn't one of his favourite tracks but his away form could help us whilst he gets used to Arlington. I'd prefer a fresh approach with a new no.1 and CJW and Mikkelsen from last season but whether the promotion see that as an option I doubt.
  16. I think they should do it like the NFL .... So Coventry Bees get first pick then Eastbourne etc etc .. Let's just hope this is a long term look at improving and developing British Talent rather than a cost saving exercise.
  17. Imagine Eagles would like Pedersen back but that will be determined by Whatever The Dark Lord of Wimborne Road decides ... With Swindon looking to use there own assets and Panthers going ( o Y o ) up ... Andersen and Batchelor could become available.
  18. So 32 pts for your Top5 and 2 NL riders. Let's get Lewis Blackbird , Lewis Kerr & Charles Wright. So who will be the 5 ..
  19. So team limits 38 points if you take 3pt for each reserve. Now a scramble for the best NL riders.
  20. Peterborough £17 Eastbourne £17 Poole £17 Rye House £16 Berwick £13 Glasgow £16 Leicester £16 Just picked out a couple of clubs at random , in order to check prices ... Seems as though the coatings are nigh on the same whatever the league.
  21. Chris Holder doesn't agree ....... “Obviously I want to do Britain – I live here and it’s easy to do it. But it all weighs on the rules and what happens this weekend. “I don’t want to leave Poole. But I have got to be realistic too. I can’t take anymore meetings on for less money than what we already earn here. We earn way less here than what we do abroad. If we take anymore of a pay cut, we might as well ride in the Premier League.”
  22. Interesting to see Chris Holders view points on the Elite League and returning next season on www.speedwaygp.com “Obviously I want to do Britain – I live here and it’s easy to do it. But it all weighs on the rules and what happens this weekend. “I don’t want to leave Poole. But I have got to be realistic too. I can’t take anymore meetings on for less money than what we already earn here. We earn way less here than what we do abroad. If we take anymore of a pay cut, we might as well ride in the Premier League.” Be interesting to see what happens as a few promoters want regular meetings and EL wages reduced.
  23. From the speedway GP site He said: “I’m talking quite a lot with one club in particular. I really like the club and the people around it and the track is quite difficult. It would be good for me to get a track like that and learn how to race it. It will fit perfectly when I ride in Poland on Sundays." The track is quite difficult ..
  24. Freddie + Tai and new points total won't go. So British World Champion or Lindgren .. No brainer really.
