Saw on Twitter that the Brummies announced he is out for the season. So for remainder of '22 Birmingham will have more guests than a Premier Inn.

Why a farce ????? Would you ride in the UK when the alternative is to earn threefold in Poland. I know what I would do. -

Peterborough v Wolves - Mon 11th July
Hackett replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Build for next season ?? It doesn't sound like there will be a Panthers next season. As for tonight fortunate Masters had an off night or the defeat could of been heavier. I remember earlier in the season when Panthers were covered on Eurosport a rider slating the new track surface / shale at Peterborough claiming it was one of his favourite tracks but now garbage ( or words to that effect) - could this be the reason or is it just a case of one season too many. -
Keep up the good work and fingers crossed everything works out. July - First time in my kids lifetime (12+16) they have not been to a live speedway meeting - ( covid season apart ) they were taken when in a carrycot and been to nearly every meeting since at Arlington. This season their first meeting will be The British Final at Belle Vue. Hopefully Tom Brennan makes it.

Imagine that the Abbey Stadium situation will follow a similar path as Brandon and Milton Keynes which I saw somebody highlight on twitter I believe. Plans to rebuild Milton Keynes Stadium at the Elfield Park site near the Milton Keynes Bowl were unveiled in 1998 and early 2005. The plans failed to materialise and the Greyhound Stadium closed down on Boxing Day 2005, it became derelict and then suffered major fire which resulted in the demolition of the site before a housing estate replaced it in 2014. As for Poole - yes speedway is the town's premium sport but will that matter when the Council see the colour of money for property development .. I doubt it.

Depends if they are seeded - however this year I am not aware of any qualifiers taking place. So I guess it will all be by invitation. -
Good to see The Argus giving the Eastbourne Eagles situation some publicity. Good luck to all involved - £150,000++ + anybody got a tractor ???

British Final 2022

No line up yet but tickets went on sale this morning. -
Those support numbers is pretty pitiful. As it states in the article England's second city - little over 350. Well we all know that is not sustainable and effectively Brummie's situation was up against it from the start of the season. Would be a big ask to see Birmingham speedway in 2023 with those losses. So could be no Newcastle, Birmingham and Peterborough next season - three major cities across the country with no speedway. Completely mirrors the success that Oxford Cheetah's seem to be having - support wise.

Would take any speedway. My children are 12 + 16 this is the first speedway season (pandemic apart) they have not been to a speedway meeting. Although they are looking forward to Cardiff SGP and the British Final should tickets ever become available. As for Eastbourne let's hope they kind find some significant backing.

Despite Tai Woffinden having new gear on his site for 2022 the kids would like to wear Dan Bewley or Tom Brennan merch this year at Cardiff - do they have any merchandise can't find any website links. https://taiwoffinden.com/shop/gb/

Any ideas when the tickets are available ?? Checked Belle Vue Aces and British Speedway websites' and can't find any details.

Newcastle v Leicester 12th June 2022
Hackett replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I can't see the Diamonds lasting the season at this rate. As for a new site - with little or zero help from the local council you are fighting an uphill battle. Noise pollution etc etc - You need deep , pockets to offer a sports complex 5g football pitch on infield. Community area or gym. -

Don't worry if fuel prices keep rising most Speedway clubs won't be able to afford to fuel a tractor so should speed the meetings up. -
Poole v Leicester 08/06/22
Hackett replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Poole with the top three of Lawson Worrall + King probably anticipate 35+ per meeting then a second string and a reserve chip in with expected returns for victory. As stated on Eurosport Danny King is struggling with machinery at the moment and Drew Kemp's form has fallen at reserve, counter that with an inform Lions team with three strong heatleader's and Dan Thompson's exploits at reserve and a deserved victory. I am sure that Poole will bounce back and these two sides will both be competitive in the play-offs. -
Been delayed far too long. Announcement will be made due to pandemic and brexit owning company has decided to stop with stadium build and then planning permission for housing extended ££££ - Either that or it will go the way of Brandon - couple of arson attacks residents in the estate will complain and permission will be pushed through for housing.

GRAND PRIX CHALLENGE

Was Dudek still suffering from battered balls ??? -
Close meeting Eurosport / Discovery will be happy - last heat decided although Kelvin was begging for the "superheat". Personally I would of put Doyle off 3 - I wonder whether he chose that or was told to go off 1. Woeful crowd in the grandstand - very disappointing. Thought Danyon Hume deserved more points for the effort.

Brennan has the talent. Learnt his trade at Arlington and last season was getting faster, braver and is dedicated. Has a point to prove and riding at Belle Vue and Glasgow will only help his development and every Eastbourne fan would wish the Eagle every success in his career as he continues making steps upwards. Hope that he gets a go a GP2 and no doubt has every chance of riding at Cardiff in GP2
