I Despair
gooner_girl4eva replied to The Grim Reaper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dont think you can say Sullivan is past it. Loram is older than him and has been there, done that etc and been the World Champion where as Ryan still has quite a few more years in him. It has been a disastrous year for him and he does seem to be struggling in the leagues a bit too so I just reckon his machinery is nowhere near to the standards it should be and he is low on confidence. This isnt the end of Ryan, he can bounce back next season - just hope he does have a GP place so he can prove it -
Trick was definitely the fastest man out there tonight and fair play to him for winning and putting himself right back in the Championship place. I had forgotten about him really, only thought Adams & Hancock had a chance but hes certainly fighting for it now. I had money on AJ and Hancock in the final (as well as numerous others) so was cheering like crazy when Greg got out in front and was seriously gutted when TRick passed him I wonder if Crumpy is going to crack under pressure like he has done the past few years? I think the next GP is going to be so exciting and can't wait to see who comes out on top. Zagar was a class act tonight, would have loved to have seen him progress to the semis and would love to see how he would perform as a GP regular. Really disappointed with Sullivan tonight, his chances of getting chosen for the GP places next year are getting slimmer and I really hope he can do something amazing in the final 2 GPs.

Well Done Hans Andersen
gooner_girl4eva replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes another great GP from Hans, think he would have had a good chance of victory if he had got the elusive gate 1! He has got to be almost 99% certain of being guaranteed to get the GP slot for 2005, I personally think he'll finish in the top 8 anyway the way he's riding. -
Well Done Hans Andersen

Must also say the other good thing what came out of tonight, is that me other half bet on Hans so we won over £200 quid! So that put a smile on my face -
Swedish Grand Prix
gooner_girl4eva replied to The Grim Reaper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The Sky commentators really irratated me tonight. Sam Ermolenko has got it in for Nicki so much so he found it funny when Crumpy kicked him. If it had been vice versa, Nicki would have got a bollocking big time. At the end of the day a good commentator should be objective, fair enough you can tak up your own country, so yes talk up the Brits but I think Sam should get over his spat with Nicki. Also Nigel Pearson who I normally don't have a bad word against, was trying to stir trouble tonight with comments over Nicki & Hans. He really wanted bad comments said about them both and on several ocassions, Sam changed the topic of conversation. A professional shouldn't be acting so childish. -
I think Hans almost certainly was going to be offered a chance to be in the GP next season because he's young, exciting, causes a fair bit of controversey..! Also I think the organisers will want two Danes in the series so he was always going to be given a place. I am concerned about the likes of Sullivan etc getting a GP place for next season, their performances in the series so far have been pretty disastrous and with the Aussies guaranteed 2 riders for next year (and 99% one of them will be Champ) I don't think they'll be bothered about getting a 3rd Aussie. Same with Max, they'll have Rickardsson, Lindback and AJ most likely so I dont think Max will get picked. We are certainly going to see a few new faces in the GPs next year!

Well Done Hans Andersen
gooner_girl4eva replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Congratulations Hans! Now I have said some bad things about him as a rider in the past but tonight he thoroughly deserved his win. He rode well and was not dirty so fair play to him. Always good to see a new GP winner! I guess that was Hans' way of sticking 2 fingers up to everyone who started the "hate" campaign against him. Guess he's the one laughing now, he sure wanted to show everyone what he was capable of tonight. Even if he doesnt keep a place in the top 8 of the series, he will defo be given a wildcard as he's young and exciting and they'll want another Dane in the series for sure. -
Crumpy what a legend!
gooner_girl4eva replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well I was absolutely disgusted with Crumpy for kicking Nicki for NO reason! Why the hell did he do that for, pure desperation?? All season Crumpy has been acting like Mr Nice Guy but at last we see his true colours again, how pathetic. Nicki had done nothing to him so there was no justification, he was just being malicious. He's lucky Nicki didnt want "words" with him afterwards. I know everybody hates Nicki but thats something he would never do. Also what irratates me more is that Sky found it hilariously funny especially the OVER biased Sam Ermolenko. How much has he got it in for Nicki?! It was no laughing matter, if Crumpy had done that to Lee Rico it would have been a different reaction. So its not ok for Nicki to do something wrong, but if anyone does something to him..yeh its fine? What a joke. On a better note, pleased to see a new GP winner in Hans Andersen. I know it won't be popular in Britain but he rode fairly tonight and fair play to him. I guess it was his way of getting everyone back who has started a hate campaign against him. -
Gothenburg GP
gooner_girl4eva replied to ha en bra födelsedag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I nearly was going to this GP but after Cardiff, Copenhagen and the WTC, I am seriously skint I think it will be one of the top 4 in the championship who will win as they are all so desperate to be World Champ, personally I would love to see Nicki win it as he hasnt won a GP all year. Nice to see Sully to do well as hes having a bad time lately so it would boost his confidence loads. But the Swedes will be on a high after their WTC victory so I reckon TRick and AJ will be ones to watch -
Wish Sky were showing this match, what a cut throat meeting its going to be. I would love to see Floppy make it through, he would be so chuffed - just hope his bikes dont let him down and that lady luck is with him. PK has got to be one of the other favourites and love the comment about would he possibly help Hans make it through...we should wait and see I think if Hans doesn't make it in the final 2 that he'll probably be chosen to be a permanent wildcard for the GP's as there will be only Nicki representing the Danes so he'll defo be chosen in my opinion. Also, looking forward to see how Lindback and Iversen do, great riders with loads of potential, they could pull a few surprises.

WHOSE GOING TO WHICH PUBS
gooner_girl4eva replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So does this mean the bar at Poole stadium will open to regular fans after both Thurs & Sat meetings because during the match its for hospitality only isn't it?? -
Have you WTC tickets arrived yet?
gooner_girl4eva replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I haven't rec'd race off or final tickets yet so a bit worried! -
World Cup TV Ad
gooner_girl4eva replied to Conkers's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think the World Cup advert is very tacky, makes me wonder what I'm letting myself in for. I dont think the GP advert for Cardiff was bad though, I think that was good. They should have kept with a similar theme instead of all the plam trees, fancy dress, limbo dancing and face painting etc, looks like a kiddies day out -
WTC Poole
gooner_girl4eva replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry if this has has already been answered, so does this mean that unless you pay loads of money for hospitality etc, you will not have access to the bar throughout the meeting? Also what about after, will we not be able to go in as normal? I think they are trying to keep the fans away from the riders if thats what they are planning as I see they mention autograph sessions so thats their way of keeping it seperate like they do at the GPs. Surely they will let us fans congratulate the riders at the end?? -
Yes what is the sudden chance in Grumpy Crumpy. Normally he doesnt really mix it with other riders in individual events but throughout the season he has been hovering around the riders and chatting. I find it a bit odd that he is suddenly all chatty amongst his fellow riders, I guess its because he's doing so well so he's happy and relaxed. He probably feels like everyone is now looking up to him. I want to see the old Crumpy back whose always moody!!

He did three dubious manouvers in the GP [ not like Mr Andersen that, ahem ] the one you mention.Heat 6 i was doing my nut at Muddle'ard.Domino effect ? What crap.Loram in red and Max in blue never even move out.Andersen in White takes Dryml's in yellow front wheel away causing them both to pile in.Lovely left elbow right in Ryan Sullivans kisser in Heat 12 aswell.Got criticised last time i questioned Mr Andersen better be careful, ahhh what the hell. Yes I noticed the incidents with Hans, he is been getting worse each GP. I think he rides with such arrogance and he definitely intends to knock people off. I still can't understand why Nicki is considered so dangerous compared to Hans. And yes, Hans definitely had the elbows out in the race with Ryan so that cost him any chance in that race and it was over for him.
-
Absolutely spot on Steve, agree 100% with all those comments. Lee Rico did nothing wrong, awful decision by Tony. And yes Crumpy definitely could have stayed in his bike, we know Tony Steele has excluded Nicki many other times so it was obvious first chance he got he would get him. I saw Steele walking around the city and I said at the time to the people I was with, he will exclude Nicki tonight and I was right unfortunately. Just because Nicki has made some dangerous moves before, doesnt mean he is always in the wrong. There is too much negative bias towards him, basically his bad reputation overshadows what ever he is doing on the track and its not on. As I said on another thread, I thought Hancock was riding quite dirty, every since the incident with Nicki, he has made several harsh blocks and cut right across riders but seems to get away with it. He is made out to be the nice guy but lately he seems to be showing a different side to himself on the track anyway.

Tony Rickardsson's knock
gooner_girl4eva replied to Papa Bazarou's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well the track was dodgy on that 4th bend as we saw lots of incidents there but I reckon Trick is just trying too hard and basically getting into trouble over it. He hasn't looked like his old self at all this near so who knows what are the reasons behind it. Also got to say, look at Sullivan, he is struggling big time in the GP's all though his form elsewhere is generally pretty good, hope he gets his bikes improved and his confidence back soon. -
Whos going to Denmark?
gooner_girl4eva replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes good to meet you JY2003 Excellent GP. I am defo going to more GP's abroad now. Thought it was a shame they didnt let you in for practice especially as it was pouring down and they kept saying they weren't insured to let others in etc. Well I would have risked it if I had been allowed Enjoyed my flight there as on board was Ryan Sullivan and Scott Nicholls Lots of Brits had travelled, more than I expected but to be honest I thought the city lacked a lot of atmosphere during the day, you wouldn't have known there was a speedway gp on unless you had been at Parken. It should be better advertised for sure. I sat on the 1st bend and the lighting was terrible where I was, I luckily managed to move to row 1 so that was better but if I go again to Parken, I will sit elsewhere. Fireworks at the end were very impressive too! It was a good gp, the Danes rode exceptionally well. Gutted for Nicki, would have been great for him to have won but fair play for him being a gentleman to retrieve his bike in the final, he certainly won a lot of respect and some new fans for that, good on him Thought AJ had his best chance of winning a GP last night, disappointed he didnt do more with it. Crumpy was well fired up after the "incident" with Nicki so I think that spurred him onto the win. Felt so sorry for Scotty in that semi, how close to getting in the final, and also felt sorry for Rico's exclusion. Not a good night for the Brits. Overall I enjoyed my first GP abroad and will be making it a regular ocassion! Met loads of lovely speedway fans (bar the drunken danes who were sitting nearby) and enjoyed visiting a new city, just hope I see more of the sun next time! -
Well I have just got back from Denmark this morning and watched it on Sky. I certainly dont think Nicki did anything delibrately, as the leader he is free to take which ever racing line he chooses. As I've said before, if Nicki wants to take somebody out, he'll do it in style, not like what happened with Crump. It was just unfortunate that he happened to catch the edge of Crumpy's bike and as Kelvin said, he thought Crumpy chose the easier option of falling off. A harder rider would have stayed on, like when they interviewed Scotty, he had a chance of getting Hancock excluded but stayed on and it cost him but fair play to him anyway. And I am glad to see that some people appreciate that Nicki showed excellent sportsmanship in the final by trying to move his bike out of the way especially when none other than Crumpy was winning. If he was that nasty he never would have done that, there aren't many riders who show that much genuine sportsmanship. Also will comment on that i thought Hancock rode some very hard agressive lines, bordering on dirty. Makes me laugh that he slags Nicki off but he is close to taking some one off soon

WTC Poole
gooner_girl4eva replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can't believe its nearly sold out What with going to Denmark this weekend and recently Cardiff, I haven't been able to afford to book my WTC Tickets, I have already booked my accommodation. I really hope there will be some tickets left in the next few days as I am unable to book until I get back. Does anyone have a rough idea of how many standing tickets are left, like hundreds?? I am really concerned I won't get tickets now -
Think we are going to get some rain during the weekend but as long as that roof is shut it will be fine! I am so excited! I am leaving Denmark early Sunday morn but wish I was staying an extra day to go to a Danish league match now. Still saving money for Bydgoszcz!!!
