Franz Zorn will be aiming for a third European title in a row tomorrow at Sanok, but has only recently recovered from a foot injury sustained in Sweden in January and has only ridden one meeting since. He'll still be a favourite, along with Jimmy Olsén for Sweden, super-veteran Aki Ala-Riihimaki and new Finnish champion Max Koivula, Luca Bauer and Max Niedermaier for Germany and Lukas Hutla who has had a few wins recently including the World qualifier in Sweden - this might be the most open European for several years. It was 1990, I used to have those moments on an old edition of Crashes and Cockups. Saunders' crash was one of the worst I've ever seen, his bike seemed to pick up speed as it hit the safety fence with him caught up in the bike and then it slammed him into the outer wall of the stock car track. Awful.

In ice racing, Mongolian riders regularly appeared in early World Championships. And at Vladivostok in Russia I believe there are a couple of riders of Korean descent competing.

I get this in the car racing world too - "You don't race so you're not allowed to comment or have an opinion". By that logic I should be banned from ever being a commentator then.
