  1. Deffinatley McKeon, but don't forget it's 'Mighty Mick McKeon' as he was known at Claremont.
  2. As Chopper said Webby go to the Motocross if it is half as good as last Sunday, it will be brilliant. Even if it is to check out the skimply clad Rockstar girls, which we all know thats the reason Chopper is going. Have a good one mate, you will need more than one of those energy drinks to keep up with those girls i'm telling ya. Btw Dizzy is #30 and Addo is #35. Check out Tye Simmonds in the under 19's he was awesome at Wanneroo. Jeez i wish i was going now, 50 million powerball tonight and i'll see you there. BFD, i will be trying to get to Gillman for sure just to see GoBNob go again, oh and the Arkaba of course.
  3. Yeah, they will be, still got four rounds of motocross to go yet though. Dean Dizzy Porter was on the road with Lee, Noddy and Trev Harding last year, you probably had a drink with him at some stage. I'm of on the 18th mate, Lee & Chucko are flying out the next day, can't wait. Don't forget BFD Swedish GP on at 4.30 Sandgroper Standard Time
  4. I thought a few may be interested in how the other half of Lee's team is faring after Noddy Holder swept all before him under the Redmond Motorsport banner at the Aust titles earlier this year. Taken from Fullnoise West Australian Dean Porter has put his local knowledge to good use with the West Australian privateer dominating the Pro Open class at round 5 of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals at the tough Wanneroo motocross circuit just north of Perth, WA, last Sunday. Kawasaki Racing Team's Luke George maintained his championship lead in the Pro Lites by taking the win in that class. With plenty of laps under his belt of the notorious Wanneroo layout it was not un-expected for Porter to do well, but it was a surprise that the Redmond Motorsport rider took both motos to win the round convincingly from fellow Sand Groper sparring partner Michael Addison. Motorex KTM backed Addison had shown the better for in State round in the lead up to the National event but on the day Porter had what it took to get the points on the board. “I’m pretty tired now but it was all worth it," Porter said after his double win. “The last four laps I was pretty much out of control but once Boydy ran out of fuel, while I feel sorry for him, I had that break and I just rolled the last two laps because I did not want to crash and I was so happy to get that win. “In the last run through the valley I was just thinking, ‘Please don’t crash, don’t crash’, and when I was going down that hill I was just going wide open and it just stepped out so I just shut my eyes and kept holding on and somehow it kept going straight so I was pretty happy.” “I love Murray Bridge, last time I was there I had a good ride and finished ninth so I reckon it’s an awesome track and I’m just going to try and get some good starts like today and stay with the top boys I guess,” Porter ended. Local knowledge also helped second placed Addison. Addison had yet to finish on the podium at previous east coast rounds, and was keen to prove his worth and experience in front of home town fans. With two second places under his belt Addison finished 8 points ahead of third placed Jay Marmont. “It’s an awesome feeling to take my first podium for the season, especially in front of my home town fans. The support provided by Motorex KTM, my family and even the WA media leading up to this round has been amazing and this support was an inspiration to get on the podium," Addison said. “What makes it all the more worth while is celebrating a podium finish with all of my Motorex KTM team mates, who I tried to help with technique in the WA sands leading up to this round. We all trained pretty hard together and they were keen to absorb any tips I could provide for the sandy tracks. It’s equally rewarding to see them do so well. “I wasn’t 100 percent satisfied with my racing at Wanneroo because I felt I could have been in better form. Unfortunately, I came down with a cold during the week which had an impact on my fitness, giving Dean Porter an advantage. Dean had the energy to push a lot harder than I did and he was deserving of the win. Still my race strategy was to ride my own race to my capability and given my cold I did the best I could, and still held off the east coast riders. Yamaha's Jay Marmont took over the championship lead with third place giving him enough points to overtake Woodstock Thor Honda Racing's Craig Anderson who finished back in 6th. “The result today is unreal. While we’ve had race and round wins taking the red plate means so much especially now as we enter the second half of the series,” Marmont said. “The first day when I arrived here in Western Australia I did not feel good at all. I can say now I was totally lost in the sandy conditions but worked on all the skills needed and managed to come through on the day.” “The bike was fantastic and we really didn’t have to change much in between race, there were only a few adjustments made to make me more comfortable. It obviously worked, with the bike taking me from dead last to third in the final moto.” It was a tight affair for 4th, 5th and 6th with only a point separating each. Stroke Honda's Lee Ellis put in an impressive run to grab 4th overall for the day. Ellis, who revels in tough conditions is always a front runner but luck had tested hi out in the previous rounds. New Father Daryl Hurley took his Shift Motul Suzuki to 5th, a point ahead of Anderson. "I'm absolutely worn out; I was getting a little bit sick heading into the weekend and knew it was going to be tough," Anderson said. "To win these races you need to be 100%, and I struggled all day right from practice and really did what I could to minimize the damage to our points standings. "I normally really like riding in the sand, it's a lot of fun and I've won lots of races on the sand. Wanneroo is always a tough circuit - it gets very rough and is a real riders' track that gets really good lines. "We led the championship coming into this weekend, so my preparation this season has obviously been working well so far, so I need stay with what I'm doing and work even harder to get my fitness up another notch again, and keep focused on the major goal which is winning the title this year. "We're only two points behind now and we're going in to some hard pack tracks in the next few weeks," Anderson concluded. It was a brilliant day for the boys and it was nice to see Trevor Harding looking fit again. Hey Spider if you go to Murray Bridge, make yourself known to Leeroy and Dizzy and become a Sandgroper for a day, you know it makes sense.
  5. That can't of been an interview with Nicki, where were all the 'Ya know's
  6. I'm there with bells on, staying at St Hilary Lodge, doesn't look to far from the stadium maybe a km or so. Probably have an Aussie flag or a boxing Kangaroo flag with me.
  7. Cheers for the updates Brynmore, you will enjoy watching the Sedgey's when they come over.
  8. quote name='Midnight_Lady' date='Apr 16 2008, 04:53 PM' post='1187051'] Ach go on then, you're on Jeez now i'm sweating like Michael Jackson in a kindergarten.
  9. Just my luck but it just so happens that i'm going to Edinburgh for 3-4 days, is the offer still open? Maybe atop of Arthurs Seat or the Castle
  10. Well it looks as if i'm in for a rollicking good time, by myself
  11. I think seeing as i don't have a ticket yet and want to experiance the GP from top seats with bells and whistles i thought i may as well hang the expense and go top shelf. Probably won't get to see another GP live that Leigh rides in.
  12. I can just imagine it, Gavin Sedge would have been busier than a one legged man in a ass kicking competition. Cheers for the update Lunchman
  13. Sorry Andy 1st - It's in the middle of of two major cities - about 400 - 500kms away. 5 hours eachway if your lucky. whose gonna go if your not a spedway type person. It has to get bums on seats or bye bye for another 5-10 years. 2nd - Whoopee an airport 15 mins from town - on a plane that will carry 200 tops, at maybe 3 servisces a day = 600 people, i would think to be above the flatline on this event i would have thought you would need at least 12000 -15000 attendinding. 3rd - Agree, plenty of things to see and do. 4th - I like wine but see above 5th - I like pubs but see above 6th - Maybe plenty of hotels in the area (not mention pubs, see above) doesn't seem to need much more accomadation according to your argument. I went to Gambier 3 years ago for WSS, loved the place, not knocking the town or anything like that and i think might have taken Roo's comment out of context a little, he would love to see it at Mt Gam, but in reality it won't happen. And for what its worth i was going to post earlier that i'd love to see it at Wayville, but realistically the track would have to be revamped a little, too big and 100 - 200mm taken of the top. sEdGy2 -(whats with that mate, Sedgy is just fine ) is right, people in Melbourne come out to watch two Cockroaches race up a wall (and know there bloodlines) multi-cultral city and very knowledgable about motorsport (apart from Lunchy ) Only my thoughts for what there worth. Cheers
  14. Definatley would not be run at Gambier though, it's in the middle of nowhere. A one off track it would have to be because no "already built" tracks have the infrastructure to expand and i doubt whether the promoters of these tracks are willing to put in the money for a one of event. Wild card = Tai & Noddy* *Chris may well be in the GP series by then.
  15. Nah wasn't me Chopper, after watching Ryan manhandle the 125, i can't imagine what he would look like on a 80cc.
  16. Cheers mate, nice photo of Schwozz Happy 18th for the other day also cobber.
  17. Hey Trackman great vid, those things 350's are pulling the boys up that hill big time.
  18. In my best Jimmy Barnes voice "Got the keys to the City BaayBeee" Awesome for Mildura to regonise him for this i think. I can only remember one other motorcyclist being awarded the keys before and that was Wayne Gardner for Woolongong. I've known for about a week know, but sworn i couldn't let it slip. I think it's sensational, he had to put of his riding school back a couple of hours to make the breakfast presantation. You can read it all in the General Discussion Board'
  19. Hey Lunchy, if you get to Mildura in time for the councils Australia Day breakfast you will see someone getting awarded the highest accolade imaginable.
  20. All the best Ryan, i hope everything is healed and your raring to go mate.
  21. Just went by the track and they are doing a mountain of work out there. Clan Sedgeman are here minus sEdGeY & Mum, Justin is raring to go. I've gotta say i'm in two minds on who i will be supporting though, the WA boys or Justin
  22. Noddy's out, Jason Doyle in. Chris concentrating on the U21's, which is fair bump in my books, he's had a bit on his plate in the last coupla weeks. Mind you the promoters could have done a bit better than just relying on Lee Redmond to bring the team back over here and not asked any other riders who may have been interested ie Cam Woody
  23. Just got a call from Lee Redmond. Another sensational ride from Noddy
