Jon has stated in the past, Lakeside would only enter the Championship if they could have Fridays - any other day (excl. the odd Saturdays) would be financial suicide and see the end of speedway at The Raceway. Therefore, on the basis that we are in the Championship, Fridays were agreed. The current situation appears to be as a result of self-interest and potential abuse of power.
-
If that was the case, Jon Cook would not be so p**d off that the Friday fixtures have been wiped.

Lakeside is Friday with an occasional Saturday.

You are nothing if not consistent in your anti Lakeside rantings. You may think your comments are meaningful but they just exemplify exactly what you are . After experiencing a truly awful track at Peterborough and then being lied to by the then promotion, I vowed never to go there again (and haven't) but I do not constantly post anti Peterborough comments. You need to get a life!

Nothing in the forecast to cause any concern.

2010/11 the beginning of the end
TonyE replied to Booey boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We have suffered a lot of different initiatives from our beloved BSPA over the years. A recurring theme is that as they seek to address one problem they cause another and the spiral continues. -
The fact that this is the Hammers sole home meeting in July speaks volumes for the state of modern speedway in UK. The Hammers will be back to tracking our full 1 to 7 and, hopefully, an entertaining meeting will ensue.

Not much point as there is no one behind him! -
Glasgow v Lakeside 06/07/2018 7.30pm
TonyE replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ben has been in the wars recently and, possibly, is yet to be back to full fitness (makes him a typical speedway rider). Kyle possibly in the same situation. Nevertheless, well done to Glasgow - look forward to seeing you at Arena. -
Newman not yet recovered from his injury - so R/R for the Hammers.

Zach W named as Lakeside reserve. -
A very tasty meeting in prospect - let's hope everyone stays safe until then. Hammers kept it close last time they were there - can they do better this time?

Attendance wise, competing against the World Cup must have some sort of impact which is a shame given both the good weather and the quality of the team this year. As others have said, it was great to see Alfie get his win - he has come on a treat and isn't afraid to mix it when the situation arises. Everyone of the team got a win or paid win (in the case of our guest) and, in regard to the latter, you could see the influence of Henning Bager when watching the lines taken by NBJ. Top of the table meeting at Peterborough next - bring it on.

I believe only the eastbound carriageway is closed (towards Southend) and, if you are heading in that direction, take the B1464 (runs parallel to A13) at Five Bells and re-join A13 at the Pitsea junction. Simples.

The Hammers will be fielding the same six as Friday night and will, no doubt, be feeling confident of getting the win. Not sure who will be turning out for the Scorpions - did Gino come back too early?

Lakeside Hammers v Berwick Bandits 15/6 8pm
TonyE replied to Daytripper's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I am sure you are doing your best. We all have our own particular preferences re music and, personally, I try to shut it out if I don't like it (provided it is not played too loud). The roving microphone is having intermittent problems this year and, hopefully, these will be sorted out soon. I, for one, appreciate it is not easy to have to fill long unplanned for periods of time. On a different front, good to hear Kyle has not broken anything and his time out will not be too long. -
Hard to believe it is 27 years since I visited Loomer Road and my abiding memory is that the track received absolutely no attention for the entire meeting - no grading, no rakers and it doesn't sound as much has changed (or, if it has, it is for the worse). What beggars belief is just why the referee waited until a track inspection was requested - it must have been obvious something was badly wrong much earlier.

Lakeside Hammers v Berwick Bandits 15/6 8pm
TonyE replied to Daytripper's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My comment re Gappmaier was very much tongue in cheek! I was definitely not accusing him of deliberately taking out Lakeside riders. -
Lakeside Hammers v Berwick Bandits 15/6 8pm
TonyE replied to Daytripper's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A little harsh there - yes, a long delay when Kyle was injured. The paramedic was with him for quite some time and no racing possible until said individual gets back in position. Gappmaier was lucky with only two exclusions - he could well have gone in Heat 4 when he failed to turn entering the first bend. As it is he did his best to inflict damage on the Lakeside riders without, apparently, doing any harm to himself. 60 points were on the card pre Kyle's injury and the remaining team members did well to accumulate 56 in the circumstances. -

I would call the opposition losing a heatleader in his first ride somewhat fortunate! You obviously see it differently. -

TonyE replied to Daytripper's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bandits are top due to having won their FIVE home meetings, including, perhaps, a fortunate one against the Hammers. Unless something odd happens, I cannot see Bandits getting anything out of this. -

Light-hearted comment given the previous posts - would not wish closure on any club.
