When did you last check them then?

No thread for this meeting as far as I know. Lakeside website has no information - given the weather forecast, perhaps they do not expect it to go ahead. It would be helpful to know just what team they were hoping to track though (so everyone could check that it was legal).

Workington v Lakeside 25/08/2018 7:30pm Ch

Whilst not mentioning specifics, the BSPA were just one of the 'back stops' I was alluding to in my earlier post. I still feel the prime responsibility rests with Lakeside to do their homework properly.n -

Fully agree that it is down to Lakeside not knowing Steve w as ineligible. I do feel however that there were sufficient opportunities (and not solely Workington) to have nipped this in the bud early enough to prevent a wasted journey and expense of same. Best wishes to Dan for a speedy recovery. -

Looking for a good outcome here - air ambulances and abandoned meetings give rise to natural concerns. -

This season is one farce after another. -

A further update: Workington H5 A8 +12 Lakeside H7 A7 +11 Peterborough H9 A8 +11 Edinburgh H6 A8 +7 Glasgow H7 A7 +6 Ipswich H7 A8 +2 Berwick H10 A7 +1 Newcastle H7 A6 0 Scunthorpe H8 A8 -3 Redcar H8 A9 -7 Sheffield H10 A8 -15 Provided Workington can get their home meetings in, it looks very much like three of the top four are more or less done and dusted. Crucial weekend for the two Scottish teams - here's hoping that all riders stay safe this weekend. -
I note Adam has withdrawn from his guest booking at Ipswich tonight. Will have to wait and see if he rides on Friday (or any other day of the week-end for that matter). According to the Lakeside website, Adam does ride.

West Ham Bombers circa 1971- not sure who the actual riders are. Romford moved there when a Court Order closed down Brooklands as a speedway venue.

There are those that like to stick the knife in at every opportunity.

Now confirmed on Lakeside website.

Not on the Lakeside website.

Sorry, I missed it.

Lakeside website mentions that Tonasz has passed away (with little other detail). Sad news indeed and condolences to his family and friends.

Lakeside v Peterborough 10/8/18
TonyE replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We have just had a significant weather event (some 20 miles East of the track) - thunder, lightning, hail, heavy rain and, to top it off, a double rainbow! -

The earlier post seemed to suggest that they had , indeed, checked the weather forecast. As it turns out, it proved not to be accurate. -
Every time a Scorpions rider gets injured the rest of the clubs start to wonder if their fixture list is safe.

I was chatting to a couple from Oundle on a recent flight and was told that the Showground is under threat too.
-
It is his home track so not surprising. I could say the same of Ben Morley for instance at Lakeside.

Make that 8 out of 15

The Hammers' promotion can do as much to the stadium as can the Peterborough promotion do to theirs - which is nothing as neither own the venue they race at.. You are perfectly entitled to your view of the racing/entertainment at Arena - FTG is a description that appears in many, many 'updates' across a wide variety of tracks. You are right that our team is racking up good scores at home - we have a good team this year (surprise) that is also averaging an away score of 43 to 47 (again, very unusual for Lakeside) so, no surprise we see a preponderance of high scores at Arena. I have been following the Hammers long enough to easily recall away teams regularly doing very well on our 'trick' track. So, in essence, we all know your dislikes to the point that you no longer need to repeat them ad nauseum.
