  1. Not exactly achieved much have they? Quite the opposite more likely.
  2. Note 'the smiley' You didn't have to pick Lakeside for the play-offs but the prospect of one home and one away leg for the Panthers and two away legs for the Hammers was too hard to resist no doubt!
  3. My point exactly, without the move, it would not have been strange for Lakeside at all.
  4. Your thought processes may have been a little different if the Hammers hadn't moved!
  5. Just had a good long look at my video footage, Cook loses it as he starts to come out of bend two and his bike clatters into Morris. Doesn't look like any intent whatsoever but he should not have been in the re-run.
  6. I thought the track lighting, particularly on the bends to be poor and needs improvement. Never too bothered with music/ presentation - it is not what I go for.
  7. It certainly did but I suspect from your regular attendance there, you will disagree!
  8. Yes they did. Thereafter the crowd were invited to walk the track and take anything they wanted as a souvenir - most opted for some shale.
  9. R/R being run in both meetings and, for the Newcastle one, used by both sides. That is bound to prolong the evening.
  10. From where I was, the Vissing move on Alfie was deliberate and worthy of Nicky P.
  11. Don't know what you were watching but Cook took Morris out on bend 2 and was lucky to be in the re-run.
  12. Details for the evening http://www.lakesidehammers.co/farewell-to-the-raceway-schedule-of-events/
  13. The last ever meeting at the Arena Essex Raceway deserves a thread to itself. It will be an emotional night that is for sure. The Hammers need to win all their 'home' fixtures this weekend to secure their play-off place.
  14. So don't run R/R - I noticed the Comets had a guest for the unfortunate Dan Bewley so why not Lakeside? Given that it is at Rye - Nicolaj Busk Jacobsen springs to mind. I certainly agree running R/R is very risky. Edited; As Kyle is not in our top three - R/R is the only option - damn. Better have a No, 8 on standby then.
  15. Doesn't sound like the Edinburgh promotion come out of this too well - just glad our six guys 'escaped' with their health intact. If it was as bad as painted (and Adam Ellis is on record as saying it 'wasn't speedway') - then you have to feel for those that paid to watch two very capable teams serve up such an unedifying spectacle.
  16. I cannot remember exactly when I last attended a meeting at Rye but will probably give it a go - Saturday fixtures make it easier than would otherwise be the case. For me, it is double the distance from my home and I have the choice of using M25 and M11 or going cross country. One of the advantages of Arena was the huge car park and that element will certainly be missed.
  17. That has been changed then - presumably at Lakeside's insistence.
  18. Well, if Lakeside don't get some fixtures in soon, they are in serious danger of not even making the play-offs after looking near certainties for most of the season!
  19. If a new track is to be feasible, my feeling is that it needs to be no more than a half dozen miles from Arena to preserve the catchment area as is. That would still be viable for those from south of the river.
  20. VOR does not help his case when criticising JC for things over which he has no control (i.e. stadium seating) - his general bitterness, coupled with a total inability 'to let it go' tend only to make him a laughing stock amongst the more rational forum members.
