  1. Joey displayed more confidence than I've seen from most Tigers' first timers at Armadale. Can't wait to see him at Ashfield.
  2. Anyone know if there's any news on Joe's injury? Hope he's OK!
  3. A fair report from Mike Hunter, must be in a good mood after his small windfall in the draw!
  4. Great to blow away the cobwebs, even if it was an Arctic wind doing it! Enjoyed tonight, although the edge taken off slightly with Screeny's injury, hope he's OK. Most of the enjoyment coming from an overall sense of "newness" surrounding Armadale and the Tigers septet. Good to see Monarch's promotion making an effort (PA system especially!) and also a Glasgow presence at the turnstiles. I was pleasantly surprised by the Glasgow performance which isn't reflected in the scoreline. That said Edinburgh deserved every point and looked good, especially Craig Cook who looked immense - I'd be surprised if he doesn't finish top of the PL averages this year. By our recent Armadale standards this was a good performance taking into account it was our first meeting of the season with 3 up and comers in the team. I felt each of them grew in confidence as the meeting progressed, Joe J and Joey more than Harley. Judging by their riding styles alone I don't think we'll see the mid season team changes we have recently. Certainly Joey looked like he has a bit of pace, confidence and ability. Only one meeting, but he could be a good 'un! Joe J looks good for a 19 year old - hope he doesn't get fed up with travelling up the M6! I've always said I can forgive a rider his results, as long as he's trying and I have no worries on that front based on tonight. James Wright looked to have bike issues early on, and I'm sure we'll see a different rider on Sunday. Henning was Henning, as was Grievesy. Joe Screen's injury is a concern, everything crossed for him! Wonder if Scott Wilson has worked out what happened yet? His comments had to be a major faux pax - Joe Screen getting medical assistance on the centre green, and Scott talks about Claus being a "lucky boy" as he had no spokes in his back wheel, without mention of Joe! Finally, the new first and second bend looks to have benefited from its modification - no spills! So overall, it's good to have the speedway smell back in the nostrils, to see both promotions being customer focused and to have a new look Glasgow team that I'm confident will prove the Speedway Star soothsayers wrong!
  5. Bet he wouldn't have resorted to violence if it was a man.
  6. I believe a new handicapping system was proposed at the winter AGM, and only failed by one vote. During a meeting, each race winner was to receive a 10 pound weight for his next race. Cumulating during the meeting. Four race wins and it's 40 pounds extra going into the 5th ride. Apparently the deciding vote came from Glasgow. Something about Joe Screen, and 4 men needed to lift him onto his bike.
  7. What a great idea! I really hope this is just the start in the three promotions working closer together for the overall good of the sport! Top class!
  8. Can anyone confirm. I've read elsewhere that Berwick was like a lesbian porn film last night. No Dick.
  9. What were the promoters thinking when this was agreed? It will only be yet another rule that's by-passed with underhand happenings.
  10. Not saying it's not happened in the past, but let's hope the Tigers/Monarchs/Bandits can work together frequently and in many ways for the overall good of the sport.
  11. See the snow hasn't delayed silly season starting.
  12. Only just finished reading my copy and a great read it was too. Seems the majority on here give it the thumbs up. There'll always be someone on BSF who thinks they can do better, or the staples are the wrong distance apart.
  13. Oh bugger! Was really looking forward to it. Great shame for the promotion and fans who've put in so much effort to make it a great start to our new era.
  14. Good on Joe, a proud Englishman, yet Saltires on the leathers!!
