British Speedway Promoters Meeting
george.m replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
i've said that ad nauseum on here about the core product. If only social media could generate an extra 200 new attendees per week, 4,000 over a 20 meeting season! -

Glasgow have an excellent website, do Twitter and Facebook. Yet in 2013 the promotion advised the numbers coming through the gate were insufficient. Merely seeing something in the media does not generate action. You may see a new product on the telly, but if you don't already use a product of that nature there's a fair chance you won't buy it. That's when product sampling comes in. If you actually get the product in your hand, use it and make an emotional attachment to it, then repeat purchase is a possibility. Speedway is about the whole experience, the smell, the noise, the exhilarating speeds, overtaking manoeuvres at close quarters. Even watching a meeting on TV provides none of this. Social media, etc creates interest. What's needed then is getting newcomers into the stadium to experience it. Then you might get some conversions. Social media alone, will most likely succeed in bringing back latent speedway supporters who've left the sport. On another subject, it surprises me how few "bikers" come to Ashfield. I can remember the Shawfield car park having many bikers and guys in leathers on the terracing. Can't say I see any now. -
Hopefully dotting the i's and crossing the t's on a contract.

Exactly what we need!

Take your pick. Only having banter Moanarchs!

2. All tracks will have one in 2014 4. Not sure how a track can be like Chris Harris.
-
Only 5 to go before we have more riders than directors.
-
And what is it that makes him happy?
-
Thanks for that..

Have I missed something? Will Joe not be at Glasgow next year?
-
Yeah, wouldn't want this to be like a Berwick thread.
-
Delighted he's signed.

I'm glad to hear it Tsunami!

Nearest to that is our checked flag. Assuming we still have it.

I'd like to think the BSPA put in a bulk order to one supplier for all the league clubs needing a fence and got a cheaper price than all the clubs doing their own thing. Maybe I should have posted this on the Jokes thread.

How many NL riders are over the age of 25? Would they qualify for an EL/British league or whatever it's name is? Defeats the purpose if they do. -

jimmyjimmy love your avatar. Is this a new stand for parking speedway bikes in the pits? A Barry Briggs invention no doubt. So it'll be in the 2014 rules for every rider to have one. I'll certainly be loitering round the pits at Glasgow next season. -
Could Peterborough be a potential inclusion? OK this only takes it to 12 home and away.
-
Anyone know about the team manager position for 2014?

Anyone know when the NL riders will be assigned their EL clubs? PL clubs have their teams to build, so hopefully ASAP. -
Like the look of this team VH. Jorgensen wasn't one I'd thought of before when going through a potential team myself. He did have quite a good meeting at our place last season so not a bad shout. Do like your reserves, Anders a definite yes (unless Berwick poach him ). Joe or Joey, neither is a tough one. Joey showed what he could do when he rode on an ex-Crump engine. Joe I do like but didn't progress as much as I'd like through the season, but I do think he probably had too much on his plate and he's young, and hopefully one year wiser. Of course it depends which EL team he is assigned - travelling may be an issue. Perhaps we should take a gamble on both and Anders goes into the main team. Magnus and Theo - definite yes! Kevin - as long as he's not on the slippery slope (which I don't know) then yes. Sam Masters, if available/eligible would make me a happy bunny.
