  1. A few times last night he was on no man's land middle line. Also thought we could have done better at clamping down Edinburgh riders on bends 1 and 2 a few times.
  2. The three meeting so far this season have provided some great racing entertainment. Let's hope the boys dish up more of the same for the fans ... and keep them coming through the gates.
  3. I couldn't figure that one out either Davy. From the shed at bend one it looked at first like Worrall had locked up and Rusty had laid down. Then when I saw the repeats on the EMTV the only definitive conclusion was I need to go to SpecSavers! Maybees the ref just wanted to show a red card to the Minions after handing out a couple of yellows for blatant cheating at the start to Frickle and Worrall? Despite the ref praising the track post-meeting, I thought it looked difficult for riders for the first half. Wetter than a Bandit's panties last weekend. Can understand the need to water with the glorious micro climate weather through the day. Which heat was it first watered during the meeting?
  4. Despite the worst efforts of the Minion PR machine on here I found myself at the home of the micro mentality and micro climate tonight. All in all, a good nights entertainment with very encouraging performances from Kevin and Theo. The best of the entertainment being provided by Craig Cook ... the highlight being his imitation of Jim Davidson. His joke about Hitler being Kevin Wolbert's uncle resulted in his interview being cut short whilst in his prime. You could almost hear the Embra blue rinse brigade choking on their G&T's ... in mock disapproval. Get yersel doon the Comedy Club Cookie Monster! On the track, his duels with Wolbert, Harrison and Pijper got the crowd going and only Wolbert succeeded in lowering his colours. Cook is certainly justified in his programme comments ... "If a rider like Martin Smolinski can qualify (for the GPs) then I am dam sure that I can" Cook has obviously found his spiritual home in Smugville. Coming from third to first in heat 15 was quite superb, especially considering this was his second meeting of the day. Edinburgh were there for the taking tonight. Wolbert and Pijper showing much better form than of late. If Lemon had stayed on his bike and we'd had our two Danish reserves, a shock result wouldn't have been unjustified. Having said that, I've just remembered Dimitri clearly didn't fancy the trick track tonight. A decent Glasgow support was present. Would you have blamed them for staying at home or going to Arran after the Dumb and Dumber PR company's best efforts to put supporters off. I'm sure Edinburgh need people through the turnstiles. Leave the PR to the experts guys! So I waited with baited breath to see our two British reserves. How can I put this ... from the Craig Cook school of diplomacy .... I have more points on my driving licence! Start of heat 8 and one of them is on the track. I wasn't sure if he was going to the tapes or finishing heat 4! Wolbert was suberb, back to the rider we all hoped we'd signed. Fast from the gate, and fast on the track ... looked like his Uncle had stuck a V2 rocket up his Rhone Valley. Kevin, please show us on Sunday this wasn't a flash in the pan!! Theo, two wins and leading Cook from the tapes for 3 laps of heat 15 - welcome improvement big man. Rusty was in the mix and without doubt our most entertaining rider this season so far. Try the inside line at Armadale mate, we love you flying around the dirt, but the inside is the way to go at the tricky tracky. Dimitri - see you Sunday. Lemmo - Mmmmhhh? For Edinburgh Apart from Cook, the highlight had to be Aaron Fox's nose bleed in heat 8 ... managed a second in front of Berge and McBain whilst they were giving it their best attempts of "No, after you. I insist" Fox came over as a really decent bloke in his interview and I do hope he comes good. The rest, well to be honest I didn't think they looked as good as the two fence fund meetings. Maybe Glasgow were just better, or there was a bit of complacency. With the exception of Worrall, who rode at Poole earlier, I honestly was a bit disappointed. Having said that, they won and we didn't. Roll on Sunday!!!
  5. Funnily enough I had same predicament last week - 10th anniversary Compromised. took the missus and sprog to Aviemore for two nights. Came back Saturday so I could go to Ashfield on Sunday ... and of course it was a rain off! Glorious day here too Scotland1314. Wonder what the Armadale micro climate is doing?
  6. Await incoming about a situation they created for themselves.
  7. We'll need them to be exhausted and miss their first two rides to stand a chance!
  8. Spot on! I've often argued that the bigger catchment areas have more competing entertainment. Bet the sheep in Berwick are glad the season's underway. Just thought, any coincidence that the Berwick season starts at lambing time?
  9. Why let the truth get in the way of having a dig? Two Glasgow fans having a bit of banter, neither saying they're not going. Then we get fiction from two posters with an agenda. Don't support our team? We'll let me tell you, we still turned up last year when we had no entertainment and got humped. Usually I like to get kissed when I get humped, but put up without the kissing last season.
  10. Only strange if you've said give British riders a chance and that you're not going. Strange.
  11. Not a bad idea. The mug punter in me might just succumb to the alcoholic.
  12. Glasgow nearly beat that scenario. We almost went breasts up during the glorious year we won the league.
  13. They're two of only four who have their finger out so far this season. I'm still 50/50 whether I'll go or not. The mug punter in me will probably win.
  14. Maybees we should make the most of the opportunity, and get our averages down. Incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Chris Harris has as much right to be in the qualifiers as anyone else. If he chooses to participate that is up to him. The man makes his living out of the sport.
  16. Whatever happened to change your fortunes Tsunami, could you send some of it our way!
  17. He's been slow since the start of the season. Hope the machine examiner checks his bike at Armadale this Friday. Just to check he has 500cc.
  18. A girl in a bar once said to me "You're tall, what height are you?" Replied, " 6'5" " "Are you built in proportion?" Replied, " If I was, I'd be 8'7"
  19. Greater men have tried that and failed! You'll need size 13s for a start. Still, always good to see in print that the Minions follow the Tigers!
  20. Thanks Dekker. Question answered and quite impressively at that. Glad to see he reads the comments on this forum and takes the advice of a Tiger's fan.
  21. Well that's the mirror on the wall and SKY's pre-season programme on't telly. Now where did I leave that Stella? No electric wires drilled through ... miracle! I'll give the mirror about a week before it's in pieces on the gludgy floor. Marriage is also intact, despite my divorce threats ... no thanks to Ikea's best efforts to drive me nuts with their useless instructions. Do my glasses look like a microscope? Why do you provide instructions on an A4 size piece of paper, with the writing in 2mm font size? Think green and save a tree you Scandinavian schmucks! I opened up the packaging to find screws and rawplugs are not provided. Why in Shane Parker's name don't they tell you that on the outside of the pack!! Oh and by the way Mr Ikea, I bought a mirror, not a set of shelves! In my therapeutic DIY session there is one thing I have figured out though. You know those stupid names Ikea give their products, like ... Bigboobiez Whanka Puke Todger Knobcheez Phart ... these are actually swear words in Swedish or where ever it is Ikea pays its taxes. Very useful when you have a young kid in the house and you discover you've drilled four 10mm holes in the wrong part of the wall. Cheers Sven!
  22. My dear old mum has Alzheimer's. With the drugs she's in a happy place, it makes it much easier for us. So sad to read this about such a great man who's done so much for speedway. Good luck.
