  1. Going by the updates a lot more respectful. One day we might all be firing at the same time. As Dorothy says Dimitri would have had a field day, maybe our rain offs might be a blessing in disguise, he should be back soon and we'll be stronger for those meetings. Onwards and upwards ...... .... please guys!
  2. Glad one of us understands his posts Gaz.
  3. Delighted we have signed Christian, decent rider and a trier. Like MD says above, this doesn't solve the problem though. Kevin has the speed when he's out front, but when he's not in first place .... Theo, deep down I feel his current form is temporary. He'll come good. Rusty I'm surprised with. Having a better season than I'd thought. Exciting to watch too, especially around Ashfield. Kasper I don't see much improvement from. So the problem for me is No1 one spot. As everyone else here seems to be saying. Sincerely wish Kevin would get his act together! Thanks to Mark, wish it had worked out, but it really was there for everyone to see.
  4. Update on Dimitri from Tigers website ... As you are aware we continue to operate a facility given his injury absence. Now that he has dropped to reserve berth, rather than being able to continue with rider replacement, we are instead able to introduce a Premier League guest up to Dimitri’s assessed 5 points. The latest situation with Dimitri is that he has a scheduled appointment for a scan in France next Thursday, 12th June. The results will directly determine how quickly he makes a racing return. We can report that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort and that he would like to resume racing, however sensibly he is allowing the medical process to determine if this will be possible without unduly setting himself back in his recovery. Whilst we are unable at the moment to pre-empt the outcome, it does remain possible that Dimitri could return to Glasgow in as little as a fortnight from now.
  5. Wonder if we will now get to hear team and DImitri news?
  6. The paying customer is always entitled to air their view. Too often I read posters on here who's opposing opinion suggests speedway is unique in the entertainment world and beyond reproach. Do we want speedway? Of course we do. But just because you get a title doesn't mean you are qualified in the business world. Just ask experienced businessmen who have much more business experience and acumen and who's businesses have gone bust. e.g. Comet, Ratners, Lehman Brothers, General Motors, Woolworths, Borders Books. OK these companies went bust. But these are real businesses that took more money in an hour than Glasgow take in month, if not longer. On another point, the nature of today's comments are of much concern. Has this promotion not learned the lesson of last season? The Promoters’ and Directors’ of Glasgow Speedway realise that the level of performance of the team last night at Edinburgh was totally unacceptable. We have been very patient and have given our current riders every opportunity to reach the level of performance we, and you, expect of them. Efforts are ongoing to improve the team in early course. We will provide a further statement during tomorrow’s meeting against Scunthorpe, inclusive of updating supporters regarding Dimitri. This is unprofessional. Do your business, then tell the public what's happened. If a specific announcement is being made. What happens tomorrow in relation to the timing of making a public announcement? Do they tell the dropped riders before the meeting? Do they tell them during? Do they tell them after? If it's a statement of intent, it will demoralise. Which ever way, can we blame any rider for under-performing on a day when we need a win? This announcement smacks of panic and is unacceptably unprofessional. Looking to the future ... if you are a rider, would you want to join a team run like this?
  7. Perhaps there were no pictures from last night with all 4 riders in them?
  8. I've always said I want entertainment as first priority. Watching riders switch off half way down the straight last night was not entertainment.
  9. One good thing from last night I forgot to mention, at least in Anders Thomsen we have a rider who's willing to give it a try at Armadale and looks like he's getting to grips with it.
  10. The morning after the night before. It doesn't feel any better. WTF was that last night? First of all, due respect to the Edinburgh riders and fans. The riders remained professional throughout and the fans last night and on here could be giving us a lot more stick. That says it all really. If they'd humped a decent team they'd have every right to be rubbing it in. They've not, because we're dire and there's no joy in beating a team like that. What of our lot? Well I'm reading all sorts of excuses on the internet, and the usual "they're our boys, get behind them". An admirable attitude. But realistically, a view only shared by a minority. We need bums on seats and performances like that won't have the remaining fans queuing up at the Ashfield turnstiles! The Glasgow promotion have a responsibility to put out a team that befits the red and white striped race bibs. No excuses. I've heard too many of them over the last 2 years. I'm tired of them. It really is time this promotion got its act together and gave the loyal fans a team we can be proud of. Glasgow promotion, if the programmes for tomorrow haven't been printed yet, print one less. I'd rather give my money to a worthy cause who'll treat my money with respect - Barnardos.
  11. You're posts are like Burger King .... full of mince!
  12. Edinburgh Monarchs 58 Glasgow Tigeresses 32 No beating about the bush ... Straight into the heat-by-heat highlights from a Glasgow mug punter's perspective .... 1. Had a burger 2. Had a beer 3. Had some chips 4. What's this? A Tiger wins a race! Thank God for Anders Thomsen 5. Just had a thought. Is this an average reducing meeting? No, best not to go there. 6. More beer. Tasty, tasty ... good looking girl in a summer dress.Schwing! 7. Tigers gate on a 5-1. Short lived. Back to the beer. 8. Went for a pee. 9. Another burger. 10. There's that girl in the dress again. Bit of sunshine always brings them out. Schwing! Schwing! 11. Fricking brilliant! Max Fricke is excluded. Worst we can do now is a 3-3. 12. Pen has an EF! Ink's run out. 13. What's this! In the middle of a speedway meeting ... a race breaks out! Wolbert leads for two laps. Then normal service is resumed. 14. Kit Kat. 15. Home ... and more beer! Rider of the meeting - Anders Most valuable rider - Dead heat between the burger van and the bar Most entertaining rider - The girl in the summer dress.
  13. One positive fromm today is we might have a stronger looking 1-7 when we next face our nearest and dearest at our place.
  14. Dimitri would have put on a great show on that track.
  15. I don't like feeling the way I do, but it's not of my making. Dimitri riding is a factor for me too. It's a poor show when a young newbie in the company of more experienced pros can make the difference, but that's the way it is! It really is a sense of deja vu, after last season. I can't help but feel there's something just not right at the club ... God do I hope I'm 100% wrong. But I can't help but feel it. Yes I know there is a shortage of potential replacements, and yes I know the reasons. But certain more experienced pros in our team need to take a look in the mirror! .... a very long, hard look!
