Is it just me or do Edinburgh posters only discuss their own riders on BSF? -

Short memory or delusions of grandeur on the Mon Zone updates tonight: Heat One ... "Great gate from Sedge as he heads off into the distance... Wells close for a lap but mandatory 5-1 thereafter gate from Sedge as he heads off into the distance... Wells close for a lap but mandatory 5-1 thereafter" And what was the Heat One scoreline against the Tigers last week? -
Mr Blooby? Cheers for giving us that one. How can us Tigers posters refrain from using? As for obsession or jealousy, does the same logic apply to stadiums and owners investing large sums of money? Or opposing team line-ups? Or other track's admission prices? Or dogs?

Berwick V Edinburgh Lc Saturday, April 11

Just like on Facebook?

Thanks Lioness. Nikon D5100 with 300mm lense. That shot was taken after the tapes were fixed. They were inconsistent after the fix, sometimes together, sometimes not. Captured the inconsistency in Heat 1 too but not loaded on Flickr. Mentioned it to Gerry, and he said "new tapes going in for next week".

Does the writer's business record stack up against our new owners? (Doubt it) Who's ever said it was an investment? Maybe it's for the love of the sport. Maybe it's to put back into the local community as they've said previously. Maybe it is a good investment if you look beyond speedway ... ... but that would take an entrepreneurial business brain! Speedway's long term future secured in Scotland when Edinburgh's is in doubt. £1 million invested in the sport of speedway and the writer's angle is to question it. I can only question his true motive in writing this ill informed comment.

Couldn't have put it better myself. As you weren't there last week the track improvements were more obvious today too. "Work in progress" applies to many aspects of the stadium, the commitment from owners, promoters, staff and volunteers cannot be questioned and is obvious for all to see. God only knows what the finished product will look like. Glad you enjoyed it!

Berwick V Glasgow (sat April 4) League Cup
george.m replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Your riders today showed what they can do on a track with grip. Put up a good show and were a credit to the club. -
Just happy to have come home on the same day the meeting started. That was a long one today, hope the unfortunate people are OK. A great atmosphere at the first bend and the visiting Bandits did their club proud providing it. Good banter and fun of the family variety, in stark contrast to last week. Bandits deserved their point, doing a Glasgow on Glasgow and not giving up. Their riders seemed more familiar and dialled into the track. Doolan in particular showed the home team how to get round and in spectacular form. Very exciting to watch. Glasgow riders quite rightly were visibly pee'd off with the starting gate tapes visibly rising slower on the inside. However it was the same for both teams and isn't a feasible excuse. New stating system in place for next week promised. Good to see the Glasgow promotion still having a customer orientated approach, making good on promises made last week, continuing to request feedback and promising issues will be addressed. The whole experience at Glasgow is a vast improvement. Good on you!

Always said that North Sea tide at Berwick had mystical powers. Quite spooky. -

Hello stranger! No doubt you guys have a winning formula when it comes to building a successful team. If we finish ahead of you this year we'll have done well. More importantly for me though is we have secured our long term future as a club and all the time and money going into the stadium now is money invested in our own assets. Looking around Armadale last night there was a lot of fund raising going on, and in all sincerity the people doing it deserve a bl00dy medal. But I couldn't help thinking the money raised keeps the club running, but all it needs is the stadium owners to pull the plug and it's money down the drain. Sincerely hope you guys get a long term fix, despite all my banter on here the collective support don't deserve anything less.

I'm not that sure it is harsh. I'm judging him on his speed not finish positions. For a rider who had a 10.11 home average last year (according to the official needing updated Monarchs website) he wasn't consistently in the mix up front in races. It's still early doors this season and it's not a criticism of him, just an observation of his performance last night. Yes, I actually do think Morris will do better, sincere reply.

Glad you take so much interest in the future of Glasgow speedway - very refreshing! Likewise Edinburgh need to weed out the mature woman who got very territorial about the space around her in the 4th bend covered area on Sunday - for the whole meeting. Deliberately standing down from her "space" between heats to deliberately block the through fare to put people off from walking past. Then taking it upon herself to rap my wife repeatedly with her programme because she couldn't see. Then accusing the missus of standing on her foot when she'd hadn't. Then accusing me of deliberately standing in front of her to block her view when I hadn't. Much to the embarrassment of one Monarch couple standing beside her. All done in front of a ten year old who found the whole episode highly amusing. As we all did and those around us. So if you want to sit on the moral high ground and give advise, (because you're not point scoring are you?) get your own house in order first. And please, do us both a favour by not trying to explain, justify, deny what happened when you weren't even there. And do yourself a favour by not saying her behaviour wasn't as bad as the drunk, neither are acceptable.
