  1. Agreed, not convinced he gets the recognition he deserves. We're lucky to have him in the PL and at Glasgow. Wonder if we take him for granted?
  2. Never saw that one coming. Well done Chris Holder! A great final!
  3. Something tells me there was a dead heat once, and the scoring system couldn't deal with half points. Could be wrong.
  4. Excellent piece of work for one so young, and please don't take that as patronising. Journalism like so many things in life is about making your own decisions and expressing your own opinions. Stick in there and stick with what you believe ... good luck in your endeavours!
  5. Should be fun watching the two of them in the same race.
  6. Fisher will be hard to beat round Plymouth that's for sure.
  7. Amazing how new technology let's us tell the world what we're doing, when we're doing it.
  8. Totally agree. Bring one in per year with 6 experienced team mates to 'carry' them if needs be. No real pressure on them to perform and take it from there. The pressure will be on 4 riders to up their game and 3 heat leaders to win every race early doors this season - not good. I have a deja vu feeling! I suspect finances may have played a part as last year would have been an expensive year for the promotion, with the new track and some big scores to pay. Don't think gates were up significantly to pay for it, though I don't think they tailed off end of season as they did in 2010. Wouldn't be surprised if we are thinking ... well we've won the league, we can tick that box, and now long term financial survival is more important.
  9. I'm no expert but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a bit of asset base building going on with our two new Aussies. We stand to get some much needed transfer readies in the bank with Josh and Nick (other matters pending of course) when they move on. So get hem in, try them and get the required number of meetings under the belt to make them assets and take things from there. Jade and Robert are possibly the ones to make way first based on latest form.
  10. Paulco, strongly doubt our septet will be the same by mid year and not through injuries.
  11. Can understand, though don't agree with, peeps thinking Glasgow in bottom three based on current line up. However .... The current Glasgow septet will not be changed for the better before mid season. Stick on.
  12. Prague is a wonderful city and you sum it up nicely. I sincerely don't want to put anyone off - if you're a first time visitor just watch out for the pick pockets. I spent a good hour or so in McD's watching a team of about 8 males/females plying their trade in the crowds. I know it's sounds in poor taste, but it was intriguing to watch. There wasn't a happy ending either, when the police arrived they dispersed pronto! My personal experience was my mate and I got off the underground and went into Wenslas Square (think that's it's name). Stood best a map trying to get our bearing and a young attractive lady walked straight up to my pal and whilst talking/distracting him put her hands in his pockets. As I couldn't believe what I was seeing I was slow to react. However, noticed couple of guys watching her/us so we walked away. Back at the same location a few hours/beers later my mate decides to go up a lane to do what you need to do after a few. I'm beginning to think "he's been away a bit" when there's a bit of shouting and then he walks out the lane looking a bit happy with himself. Whilst doing what he was doing, a local man approached him and tried to give him a hand! Unfortunately for the poor poof, my mate is 100% heterosexual, Scottish and a black belt in judo. Don't think the poof would have been approaching men up dark lanes for a while after that!
  13. One of the few riders who looked the part and rode it too. Those black and white checked leathers were, and still are, the best I've ever seen. I can still remember seeing him for the first time, Love St. Paisley, and he was miles ahead of everyone. He rode one of the biggest tracks in the UK like it was a long track, sitting right on top of the back wheel. Come to think of it, when was the last time I saw a rider doing this? Gollob perhaps. A thrilling riding style to witness.
  14. My prediction is : 1. Hancock 2. Hampel 3. Jonsson Herbie won by the proverbial country mile this year and I suspect he has plenty left in the tank to do so again. Also he has the experience to not get distracted with extra meetings, etc as so many world champs have in the past. He also has the experience to keep out of trouble on track and thereby avoid injuries. Hampel looked good this year and I reckon he'll push Herbie. AJ was the form man towards the end of the season, but he doesn't have the consistency, as seems to do better when there is no pressure. having said that, I'd like to see him win as on his day he is a great entertainer.
  15. BFD - See from previous above Mason Campton was due to ride for Team Watt, any reason why he didn't? Cheers.
  16. One off final or GP series? Let's not forget the riders POV, after all they are what the whole thing is about. I'd suggest they'd vote for the series. Also since the series started, I've not heard too many complaints about the overall winner each season. Go back to one off and run the risk of the consistently best rider in the season not being world champion.
  17. Hope Bomber gets the machinery and back up team his talents deserve!
  18. What a schoolboy error. He misses the bleeding obvious at the most important point of the whole series. Do the right thing Nigel ........ RESIGN!
