COMMERCIAL MANAGER FOR KENT SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCED By Kent Speedway | Monday 17th December 2012 Kent Speedway have announced that Neil "Nikko" Day has joined the club as Commercial Manager. Day joins the new club having been involved with British speedway for the last 10 years with the Mildenhall Fen Tigers and Peterborough Panthers, as well as running his own speedway management service for young British riders. Day moved to the Kent area two years ago and brings a wealth of experience of gaining sponsors and working with local companies and media to promote speedway. The Kent promotion have already set out their commercial requirements and Day will be spending the early part of 2013 meeting with perspective sponsors and local media to promote the new venture. read more >>> www.kentspeedway.madwebdesign.co.uk

What I'm getting at Bryn is the SCB rule that has affected updates for those supporters who can't attend every week, not whether the person who did a really good job for quite some time was there or not as he hasn't been able to do updates since the start of the season unfortunately. I thought the sport needed to attract supporters not clam up and keep events secret, but there again maybe speedway does not need to attract new supporters or keep regulars happy who may be unable to attend due to shift work or health problems. Anyway I will leave you with those thoughts . . . . .

Can't find any, bit of a sad state when a texter can't be found. Thanks to that no phones or Internet rule from the SCB it means that Russ who was Mr Reliable can no longer keep us all informed, real shame.

There is no problem putting a track in thankfully. Planning would be submitted next year if the landowners go ahead.
-
It's their land after all to do with as they see fit, but onwards and upwards, the Wildcats WILL have a new home by 2013 if everything fits into place. There will be no news until next summer on the exact location due to the landowners who have only watched one live speedway meeting wanting to sample more live meetings before committing their land for our cause. Things from this perspective are very positive for a return to racing, we can only now sit and wait for their decision unless of course another landowner makes a good offer in the meantime.
-
Good luck Karl with your future.
-
Yes, I invited a landowner that I know to the recent Exeter v Wildcats fixture at Somerset. He had never seem 'live' speedway, just the Sky broadcasts. He was really impressed and before he makes a decision he wants to see a few more fixtures at different tracks. As for the old track and landlords I think we all know their views regarding speedway unfortunately, but you never know. When there is something concrete regarding a future track or a return to the old track you will be made aware but until then we will take as many challenge fixtures for the nomadic Wildcats next season as possible to help keep awareness in the media alive.

Please sign our online petition to help save the Wildcats The petition link can be found on the Wildcats website homepage Your support is much appreciated, the more signatures we can get the better chance that the National league could have an additional club if not in 2012 then in 2013. Thanks everyone

ISLANDERS TACKLE POTTERS By Isle of Wight Speedway ~ Sunday 24th July 2011 Wightlink Islanders take to the track hoping for better weather than has greeted them for their last two Smallbrook fixtures. Stoke Potters are the visitors on Tuesday this week to the Ryde circuit at 7.30pm in National League action. The Potters are just above the Islanders in the league table with 13 points and two fixtures in hand to the Islanders 7 points. Another must win fixture for the Islanders who will be glad to welcome Paul Starke back following the horrific accident in the recent league fixture against King's Lynn Young Stars in Norfolk which left Starke only able to run one bike after writing off all bar the engine in the crash. Starke also aggravated his shoulder in last week's wash out but turned out in the first round of the World Under 21 Championship on Sunday at Poole as a reserve. Starke was given four rides scoring 3 points back on the pace. Following Tuesday evenings fixture the Islanders take their place in the National League Fours competition on Saturday at Stoke and on Sunday the team visit South Wales to tackle Newport in league action. Back in May the Islanders went down 53-40 in KO Cup action so will be hoping for a better performance. The Hornets have made a couple of team changes with former Islander Brendan Johnson and Steven Jones replacing David Gough and Tom Young this week. Islanders co-promoter Chris Hunt said, "The fixtures against Stoke and Newport are going to be tough hopefully the boys will be fit so we can give both teams a run for their money."
