They used Hysteria by Muse as an intro couple of weeks ago - unsure of exact date - but could well have been what you were appreciating. -
Was interested to see an Alan Grahame and his sidecar passenger Tony Grahame taking part in a national MX meeting in Wales at weekend. Was wondering, as they were from the Brum area, if they could be part of the Grahame speedway family, but when an obvious Andy Grahame stood next to me cheering them on; there could be no doubt. Apparently the boys have gone back to their roots. The Grahame boys' father Archie was competitive in sidecar motocross. They finished 11th and 16th in their two races; although they were not regular competitors in this series. If you ever are in the Pontrilias area - brilliant track for old fashioned scrambling; none of this new fangled open throttle hang on and go flat out MX. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am waiting patiently; I'll wait for the sign......

Cardiff 2007

Loved the presentation - getting back to basics with the protagonists simply riding the arena is much preferred to fancy arrivals. So glad I took the binoculars though and could get a more up close view of goings on.... -
Inspired by the interval 'entertainment' on the night the word was reinvented. For today's entertainment you can even fill in the missing rider depending on your opinions. Coz, you won’t stop racing, But please don’t give it a rest You’ve got more bottle than …………, Now time to overtake the rest. Now you’re just the kinda boy To give the Brits such pride, When they played the National Anthem, You and 40,000 cried, We knew right off when we first set our eyes on you, A champion of the future? Some said Bomber Harris – who? With your incessant racing, you’re becoming the BEST! yup yup bomber yup yup yup bomber bomber racer yup bomber bomber yup yup yup bomber bomber racer yup yup yup bomber bomber racer yup yup bomber bomber racer With apologies to the cockney pair...

What a night. Why are so many surprised at his success? He has not just suddenly appeared - he has come through the ranks and thoroughly deserves the plaudits he is now receiving. Certainly he has a great team around him but he is just such a natural talent, unphased by pressure and able to rise to the occasion. His moves tonight were reminscent of those at the County Ground with magnificent sweeps around the outside. He was a major player in the Falcon's win of 2000 and will always be our boy. His interview style has not changed since then either - always optimistic, upbeat and looking positively to the next challenge. Good to see him really enjoying tonight too We certainly did from the sofa - sorry neighbours! -

Having reluctantly written this year off because of the date change - after a fantastic first visit last year - the date for 2007 is.....(hopefully a week later than the Whitsun week).....please!! -
Back to modern times - Seemond Stephens' kevlars have to be recorded. Always creative. individual and showmanlike. Not mentioning the time when he and Lol Hare donned black suits over their kevlars a couple of seasons back.

Bad move for us - our annual trip to Scotland coincides with this weekend - can't believe I am going to miss Cardiff after such a brilliant first time last year. Conflict of passions. -
Italian Grand Prix - Lonigo
Headmistress replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ok - it's the last GP - and the point is? TR has won it. As Jason has just said - no stress.... Top eight - all OK - would only worry if my name was Sullivan and Chrzanowski. Possibly Anderson.... Bring back the qualifying system - how are we going to appreciate the likes of Stead, Harris, Bjerre, Kristen Iversen and other likely lads. I'm assuming Zagar would be an automatic new boy, as he has had already shown his quality at the highest level. Bet Holta is regeretting becoing a pole if the GP is considering a GP in Norway.. It's all about having representation of various countries at the end of the day. Please, less of a circus and more of the SPORT we love. -
SKY should REALLY cover this one. The last one screened from Peterborough a few years ago was BRILLIANT. How can they ignore this prime event?

Wives Taping The Gp
Headmistress replied to Brightonbob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just get the wife to become a madder speedway fan than you - it happens in some families I hear..... Daughter 'nearly' did the taping biz for us - only semis missed. Wish I had a video that paused without jumping about so we could spot ourselves - or perhaps that was us jumping about... -
