  1. Line ups are out for Tuesday. They'll be in the first post in a few minutes. Mas - Smed : https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/CompetitionTeamMembers.aspx?CompetitionId=8735 Ros - Vet https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/CompetitionTeamMembers.aspx?CompetitionId=8734 Wednesday's line ups will be public by 21.00 CEST tomorrow.
  2. Lebedevs should be ahead of Milik in the pecking order, especially if Andzejs wins the SEC title.
  3. Dackarna-Smederna full Swedish version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJSI0yamDyU This meeting is now listed as the main meeting,
  4. Given Zagar's perfomance in Målilla 4 days ago this was perhaps not that surprising and the same can be said for Janowski.
  5. Pontus Aspgren and Smederna have signed a two year extension on Pontus' contract. http://eskilstunasmederna.se/aspgren-forlanger-med-tva-ar/
  6. Smederna moved up to second place in the attendance league after the quarter finals. Rospiggarna are still in the top about 300 on average ahead of Smederna. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/sverige/elitserien/publik/
  7. Well, that is sort of the same thing as the discussion about whether the chicken or the egg came first. You could also say/claim that the British riders aren't as good as the Australians because the Australians have pushed the British riders out and leaving the British riders on the sideline. We have the same situation in Sweden where teams have no issue bringing in young talents from other countries at the cost of our own riders getting sidelined. This results in fewer younger riders becoming good -> more foreign riders -> fewer Swedish riders getting the chance ->fewer younger riders becoming good -> more foreign riders -> fewer Swedish riders getting = a downward spiral.
  8. Tonight's meeting between Team Fjelsted-Esbjerg vikings have been called off because of rain.
  9. I think the main reason is that if you start at home then you will usually have a good result to stand on and won't have as much pressure in the second leg.
  10. I agree but one can say the same about Janowski who have been very mediocre in these two qf-legs. He scored 6p last week and 5p this week. That isn't something I would accept from the current 2:nd in the SGP. He is perhaps thinking too much about the SGP.
  11. So next week will be Elit Vetlanda vs. Rospiggarna and Masarna - Smederna. The latter will be a classic derby since the tracks are only about 100km from each other. Tuesday is Rospiggarna and Masarna-Smederna, Wednesday is Smederna-Masarna and Vetlanda - Rospiggarna. We'll see how Smedena deals with the Madsen situation. Like most Danes and Poles he doesn't do well on wet tracks. Ljung - MJJ situation. https://www.svt.se/sport/motorsport/dackarna-smederna/
  12. Pep talk from Smederna's team manager. https://www.facebook.com/eskilstunasmederna/videos/1480840858676064/
  13. See this for what Swedish meetings they are showing. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=85145 It will be quarter finals leg 2 this week with Dackarna - Smederna being the main meeting.Semi finals are next week (Tue-Wed) but it isn't known yet what matchups there will be.
  14. I listened to the latest episode of Metanolpodd. One of the hosts had shared a car with Krister Gardell from Kumla to Eskilstuna on Tuesday last week. Krister Gardell is supposed to have said Gorzow like all Ekstraliga teams have to put new dirt on the track after the halfway point of the season. This is supposed to have caused that the new and old dirt/track material hadn't bonded properly.
  15. First post have beem updated with the line ups for the second leg of the quarter finals.
  16. Valsarna have announced their team managers for their Allsvenskan comeback. It'll be Robert Henderson and Lars ”Jesus” Andersson. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/sverige/allsvenskan/valsarna-presenterade-nya-lagledare-infor-allsvenska-aterkomsten/
  17. Personally I wouldn't mind a complete re-shuffling of race nights for UK, Swe and DK. I have no absolutely no idea if this would work for the UK tracks but anyway what I would like to see (but very likely will never happen) is Mondays UK Tuedays UK Wednesdays Sweden Elitserien Thursdays Denmark and Swedish Allsvenskan Fridays Denmark and Poland do have some of the meetings on Fridays Saturdays SGP/SEC/U21 WCH and etc (could also use a reserve days when no championships are held) Sundays Poland This might not be possible but I feel it would be more efficient with less travel or riders who ride in several of the leagues which also would means less travel expenses for teams/clubs, Riders who ride in both UK and Sweden would also have a little more time for rest since they wouldn't have to do UK-Sweden-UK/Denmark-Sweden/Poland/Denmark. Instead it would be: UK->Sweden->Denmark/Poland/UK/stay in Sweden. I don't know if it makes a big difference in the end though.
  18. Well, you are not wrong but no team relies on attendances to 100 percent and sponsors play, if not equal, then at least a very important role as well. Most teams would suffer if attendances were to drop dramatically or of sponsorship were to decrease dramatically. Some teams, like Piraterna, are struggling yes but that is more because of a too optimistic budgeting combined with a "win now attitude" meaning signing riders that are a bit too expensive compared to what a reasonable budget would allow. Obviously if you budget for 3000 on average, you are going to have problems if only 2500 on average show up. I'd say that the 4 top teams in the attendance league this season have a better average then needed while the rest of the teams are too low except Indianerna who ended up with positive results thanks to having a cheap team.
  19. Holstebro qualified themselves for the semi after a drama tonight where they just beat Region Varde with 43-42. https://www.facebook.com/metalspeedwayleague/photos/a.1380115475348330.1073741826.113869148639642/1935297689830103/?type=3&theater
  20. Nordic longtrack championship from Mantorp horse racing track will be shown live at Svemo play http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Nyheter/SeNordisktMasterskapilongtrackpaSvemoplay/ It is Pay per view and will costs 89 SEK (about 7-8 pounds something). Some "silly season" stuff at masarna's site. http://www.masarna.nu/sillyseason/
  21. Well that is pretty much the same as Prague and Vojens were for many years, super slick tracks with very little passing. They key question, as always, is whether or not BSI can make a nice profit from it.
  22. Teero Arnio will replace Lunna in Rospiggarna's squad but he will not tide on Tuesday. Rospiggarna will use Freddie Eriksson and Jacob Thorssell at reserve. Morris will also ride. http://www.unt.se/sport/dubbla-gladjebesked-for-rospiggarna-4742526.aspx
