  1. Yeah Vetlanda should win easily and no the track is usually really poor. It's a very heavy track with lots of loose dirt/sand/gravel on top. Ask @racers and royals about it. He'll tell you that I always complain about the Vetlanda track.
  2. If a rider rides in Britain he needs a second base/set up with bikes. it isn't possible to transport bikes from Poland to Britain in time for a meeting on Monday evening. One example is Częstochowa to Manchester which is a 21 hour journey + eat/sleep/bathroom breaks and etc. Hallstavik -Esbjerg is about half of that.
  3. I don't think riders loves their clubs and I also doubt that riders earn 10x more in Sweden then in England.
  4. Preliminary line-ups for Elitserien round 8 Weather looks ok for all tracks, possibly a few drops at Vetlanda and Målilla. Vetlanda - Indianerna will be the focus meeting. Vetlanda - Indianerna (46-44) Vetlanda Artem Laguta Tomas H Jonasson Leon Madsen Brady Kurtz Bartosz Zmarzlik Filip Hjelmland Robert Miskowiak Kumla Indianerna Bjarne Pedersen Vaclav Milik Kenneth Bjerre Piotr Protasiewicz Anders Thomsen Victor Palovaara Ludvig Lindgren Somehow Bjarne is still picked despite poor results. Rospiggarna - Masarna (51-39) Rospiggarna Jason Doyle Max Fricke Robert Lambert Jacob Thorssell Andreas Jonsson Tero Aarnio Samuel Masters Masarna Linus Sundström Kim Nilsson Tai Woffinden Artur Czaja Antonio Lindbäck Emil Millberg Joel Andersson Pawlicki is missing but Tai is listed, not sure if this is what they will show up with unless Tai has been paid. Pawlicki was awful yesterday at Hallstavik though so Masarna are probably better off without him. Smederna - Lejonen (44-46) Eskilstuna Smederna Fredrik Lindgren Krzysztof Buczkowski Michael Jepsen Jensen Mikkel Michelsen Niels Kristian Iversen Pontus Aspgren Linus Eklöf Lejonen Jarek Hampel Maksym Drabik Chris Holder Kasper Woryna Rohan Tungate Mathias Thörnblom Timo Lahti Lebedevs have struggled and is now replaced by Michelsen. Smederna also gives Eklöf a chance to prove himself. I am not sure why Piotr Pawlicki isn't riding. Dackarna - Västervik (45-45) Dackarna Greg Hancock Hans Andersen Pawel Przedpelski Patryk Dudek Maciej Janowski Oliver Bernstzon Joel Kling Västervik Nicki Pedersen Grzegorz Zengota Peter Ljung Bartosz Smektala Peter Kildemand Anton Karlsson Mikkel Bech Live streaming at: https://www.speedwayplay.com/elitspeedway Live results as always at http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/ http://www.elitspeedway.com/liveresultat/ https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/live/zuzel/elitserien Elitserien can also be followed at https://sverigesradio.se/sida/gruppsida.aspx?programid=179&grupp=7514 (web radio) Heat schedule: http://www.svemo.se/ImageVaultFiles/id_14025/cf_44/K-rschema_2-15.PDF
  5. There is a third brother named Daniel. According to BBC, Williams partner Janine is pregnant with their second child. https://www.bbc.com/sport/northern-ireland/44754057 https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/robert-dunlops-son-i-expected-to-lose-comrades-in-war-not-my-dad-back-home-28465427.html
  6. He has had problems with his shoulder though and recently underwent surgery to fix it. He have been very good for Smederna this season and averaging on 2.000/heat.
  7. Madesen is usually good in the leagues but very weak in SGP/SEC. MJJ was awful last year and wasn't worthy a pick then but he has been really good this season. One could have picked Lebedevs as a wc for this season judging by his form last season but he has been very mediocre this season. NKI/Kildemand maybe but I don't think they add anything more then Nicki. Unfortunately, Denmark (like Sweden) doesn't really have any good up-and-coming rider.
  8. In Sweden ambulance is required for a meeting to be able to be run and the minimum ambulance requirements is an "event ambulance". Then there is also several other requirements for a 500cc speedway/ice racing/long track meeting, like a medical team consisting of at least 2 medics (doctor/nurse/ambulance nurse), a qualified pre-hospital care nurse. Tracks also have to have a basic medical room as well for pre-hospital care. In Sweden ambulances can only bring patients to hospital if they have an emergency permit from the transportation board. This is according to Rule 1.9 and appendix A: http://www.svemo.se/ImageVaultFiles/id_14171/cf_44/TrackRacing_SJUKV-RDSBEREDSKAP_2016.PDF
  9. I don't know about the English language bit in Swedish we have two words; sport and idrott. The latter is a more narrow/specific word for sports that are more physical like football, icehockey, tennis, atheltics gymnastics and etc while sport is more general and also includes stuff like billiards, darts motorsports and other sports that aren't as physical as idrott. So yes darts is sports.
  10. Freddie has good speed but his starts aren't that good. He needs to improve if he want to get the gold.
  11. The same reason as Nicki. Ex-world champion that is well known by the general public. IMO neither should have been given wild cards but money talks.
  12. It was just a statement of fact but sure I deffo would like to see Greg out of the series.
  13. In that case Greg should bow out too because I really can't stand mr double face.
  14. I don't think this will work outside Sweden bt you could give it a try. https://www.viafree.se/program/sport/fim-speedway/sasong-1/962972
  15. Greg, Pawlicki and Janowski have had Orionparken as their hometrack. Jonsson and Doyle currently have it as their hometrack. Greg still lives in Hallstavik during the season. Spectator size looks ok, around 6000 maybe?
  16. It's not the best track in Sweden but still relatively good/ok. There will be a big screen available but only for those who pays another €5 to get into the festival area. I hope that it will pay off but Teurnberg was interviewed on the radio a couple of days ago where he said that it would cost €50 000 to get the rights to broadcast the Swedish game. I don't know but I would assume that he somehow found a cheaper way?
  17. It's Hallstavik, a small Elitserien track not a big stadium. I am sure that a few ticketss have beeen sold already but not enough to make breakeven. wvw thousand Hallstavik is a small industrial. municipality in the north eastern corner of southern Sweden. I dont think there is a pub there., possibly a pizza shop.
  18. yeah, writing with the phone sometimes acts up and I cant delete the wrong parts. I will fix it later when I can use my computer. Anyway I think the world cup qf between Swe & Eng/Clmb will affect attendance levels at this GP.
  19. I'd expect Ljung to be track reserve at Målilla with Berntzon as wild card. Sweden defeated Switzerland in the football world cup and will play in the qf on Saturday that starts at 16.00 CEST which is just 3 hours before the GP starts. I think many will stay at home to watch the game.
  20. Masarna says that Tai sent them 5 invoices two weeks ago (19 June) for four meetings + sign on. They say that they have paid 2 of those and that three are remaining. Tai therefore has the right to use the clause in his contract that says he can refuse to ride if all his invoices haven't been paid.
  21. Pretty much as in Stockholm then even if the cheapest tickets wasn't as as expensive as £80. Tickets where too expensive, racing quality not good enough, held too late in the year (IMO). I think it is a mistake to male the tickets so expensive because it will scare the people off and then it will be a downward spiral. I think if you make the tickets a bit cheaper then you will get a higher spectator count that will means better atmosphere (= higher chance of people coming back) and more people who will buy coffee, soda, programs and etc.
  22. not really. He is an ex Rospiggarna rider and also from Stockholm. IMO, Berntzon should have been the wild card but Jonsson was chosen for being the local guy. He doesn't really deserve it given his form this season.
  23. Weather forecast https://www.smhi.se/vadret/q/Hallstavik/Norrtälje/2708426#tab=0,chart=1
