you recently complained about the lack of re-newing in the GPs and still want to see pensioners qualify to the gps. If we want to get fresh blood into the GPs then the likes of Zorro, Holta, Ulamek, PK, Max etc shouldnt be allowed to stand in the way. Zorro would be not be a good addition to the GP series. Ulamek &Adams really struggles this year and compared to those how would Zorro do?
-
yes but ther is a BIG difference between Greg who have been the in GP series for maybe 15-20 years and someone like Zorro. I think there is something wrong when "oldies" like Zorro, PK etc tries to qualify for the GPs. They dont bring any addition to the GPs and should know to step aside for younger riders, the GPs series does not need another bunch of old boys riders in the GPs. The same goes for Holta if he misses out on this years top 8, then he should realize that his time as GP rider have come to an end and accept that he no longer have what it takes to be in the gps. I'd much rather see someone like Antonio Lindbäck or Jurica Pavlic or Chris Holder in the GP series then someone like Zorro or Holta or Ulamek.
-
well what's the point of someone like Zorro trying to get in the GP series? or PK? They aren't an especially good addition to the gp series. Lets say Zorro won a place in the GPs by finishing top 3 in the GP challenge and someone like Miedzinski or Pavlic or Bogdanovs or Hampel would finish 4th and miss a spot in the Gps just because a 38 year old wants a try in the GPs. Zorro shouldnt be in the GP Challenge if the riders themselves dont get it well then someone will have to make them understand. About the other stuff well i dont want to have the history to repeat itself every year when 2 of the 4 WC are the same as last year and the year before (like Nicholls/Harris) especially when there are other riders t hat are better (like Richardson/Hampel).
-
he havent been paid by Solkatterna for about 3 meetings so Daniel will refuse to ride until he have been paid for those. i think Piraterna owes him money too but i am not sure.
-
i dont like that suggestion because its hard enough as it is for the new riders to establish themselves in the GP series and if you would change 12 of the 15 riders for each season it could mean allot of new riders each year and the new riders usually dont ride as good the first season as the experienced riders. One thing to do would to do a swap so that the 4 finalist in the GP challenge gets a place in the GPs and then only 3 WC picks. Also put an age limit on the WCs and GP Qualification. Lets say 35 years of age? Also add a new limit of the amount of permanent WCs a rider can get in a row.

Grand Prix Challenge.
Ghostwalker replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
yeah i agree with that. -
well Iris123 there aren't really many others to choose from but Perhaps JD could have been picked. i still prefer Anto9 then THJ though. I'm pretty sure THJ will get his chances too within a year or two.

Grand Prix Challenge.
Ghostwalker replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
my picks for WC alls depends on final the top 8 standings and what riders that managed a top 3 in the GP challenge. but in my dream world it would look like this: AJ, Lindgren, Bjerre, Nicki & Hans A will manage a top 8 the GPC result would look like this: Hampel Holder Miedzinski an the WC picks: Antonio Lee Richardson Zagar Grigory Laguta I hope Gollob pulls out and Greg Stays. then the 2010 GP roster would look like this: Jason Crump Greg Hancock Emil Sayfutdinov Andreas Jonsson Fredrik Lindgren Kenneth Bjerre Nicki Pedersen Hans Andersen Hampel Holder Miedzinski Antonio Lee Richardson Zagar Grigory Laguta Local WC -
no way! we rode with the 5 best and i doubt THJ would have done better then any of the other. It had been different if Zorro or Max had been picked over THJ. In this case though all 5 riders are still quite young so. Why should THJ be given a special treatment over the others? Why should THJ have got picked instead of any of the others? Ruud have average of 8,18p/meeting Antonio have an average of 9,6/meeting JD have an average of 8,41p/meeting If you look at his score he have scored an avergae of 3,8p/meeting so he need to improve his score before he could expect a SWC spot or a GP WC. Nermark is a pretty good rider too but had been injured just before SWC and hadn't ridden anything for several weeks before the SWC so there is no point in picking someone that is or just has been injured.
-
well if you look at it THJ shouldn't be near any GP WC ...yet. sure he rode well in the Swedish Championship but if you look at his league scores he haven't had a good year (understandably with the death of his father) this year. I'd rather give the WC to someone that can do a decent score. Then you could question if Antonio should have it twice the same season or if someone else should have it like JD although he have been inconsistent (as usual). Like with Tai, THJ's time will come and i dont doubt that he will have earned himself a WC within a year or two. Anyway a fantastic spectator size at the meeting between Team Bikab and Indianerna Ungdom. 789 watched Team Bikab win the Division 1 meeting with 52-44. it is one of the highest spector siszes ever in Div1. The two with the most spectators that i have found are: Bysarna vs. Team Canvac 2 years ago attracted 912 people Team Bikab vs. Filbyterna last year attracted 2008 poeple. Best rider score was Zorro (Indianerna Ungdom) with 12p from 5 rides (3,X,3,3.3). Zorro was excluded from his 2nd heat because the chain cover fell off just a few seconds before the start of the heat.

Grand Prix Challenge.

5 years ago i attended the SWC Semi final at Eskilstuna. I Paid about 20 Pounds for a numbered seat at the grand stand at the start. Compared to that 25GBP for GP challenge with reasonably less rider quality is to be considered as an usury or atleast a big fat joke. -
Tonights meetings in Division 1: Team Bikab - Indianerna Ungdom Team Bikab Team Manager: Robin Johansson 1. Robert Henderson © 2. Göran Flood 3. Daniel Henderson 4. Henrik Karlsson 5. Robin Bergqvist 6. Rasmus Eklöf 7. Jimmy Jansson Indianerna Ungdom Team Manager: Rholand Jensen 1. Niklas Eriksson 2. Alexander Edberg 3. Magnus Zetterström 4. Daniel Ahlin 5. David Rohlén © 6. Freddy Godlund 7. Marcus Johansson Links to lineups for the other three meetings: Gnistorna-FilbyternaStjärnorna - EldarnaGasarna-Crossbone Pirates there is also one meeting in Allsvenskan tonight: Solkatterna-Getingarna There is a bit of a contest/challenge going in between few of the teams in Div1 regarding spectator record. two weeks ago Team Bikab took the lead with an impressive 577, last week Gnistorna overtook Team Bikab by having 594 specators. Now Gasarna have arranged so that they can have a free entrance tonight to attract more people. Both Team Bikab and Gnistorna also have home meetings tonight. In the meeting between Team Bikab and Indianerna Ungdom, Zorro will ride for the Indians. The weather is warm and sunny so hopefully there will be record crowds at all four arenas tonight. All meetings can be followed live at http://www.speedway.nu (click on the meetings under "right now") from 19:00 Swedish time / 18:00 British Time..

nothing wrong with the current system the best rider over the entire season becomes world champion. IT works in F1 it works in motoGP,it works for Rallying and it works for speedway. How can it me more fair then that? the most unfair system you can use is a oneoff final which is too much of a lottery especially with gate draws for tracks that have advantage at a certain gate and with the inconsistency from the ref. Speedway would loose all media attention twice a week if they would create a oneoff final.

Swedish Elitserien Round 14
Ghostwalker replied to Anders's topic in International World of Speedway
the tv meeting was such a borefest lat weeks tv meeting between Indianerna and Västervik was a 100 times better. The Pirates lost again, this time against Vargarna. Jagus was taken to hospital with a suspected concussion and a broken wrist. The likeliness that the Pirates will manage to qualify for playoff is now very very small I hope that Anders can fill us in on Vetlanda-Lejonen. -
imo nothing wrong with the format, its the most fair system we could have. The only thingt that needs to be changed is the track preparations. Possible also some tracks' status as a GP track could be questioned.
-
i think thats is a bit small. Especially with the risks of the sport and expenses the riders have to ride in the gp. IMO all riders should get paid by BSI/IMG because the riders brings in money to BSI but doesnt seem to share it with the riders. It doesnt have to be allot of money but atleast a few thousand Pounds per GP. i am not sure but i think the Swedish riders gets their travel expenses covered by the Swedish Motorcycle Sports Federartion.

a Decision has been taken to lock Elitserien from the 2011 season. This means that no team longer will be moved up or down between Allsvenskan and Elitserien. This should mean that if there are 10 team in Elitserien next year all Allsvenskan teams wont have any thing to ride for. They can sign riders to win Allsvenskan but for what reason? IMO this is not what Swedish speedway needs. Allsvenskan now becomes more or less useless as i think that most teams in Allsvenskan aims for Elitserien. What will happen with them? Another problem will be if 6 teams already have qualified for the playoff with 3-4 rounds to go and with no team facing the risk of being demoted the final league meetings will loose all importance and there will no longer be any drama regarding the last place. I also wonder what will happened with the team that will be demoted in 2010 they no longer will have a chance to get back quickly. IMO it feels like they just testing stuff without having much thought about it. http://www.nt.se/sport/artikel.aspx?articleid=5433596

this is old news. This has already been reported in f-s-p's finnish news thread:

the riders does not get paid by BSI/IMG or any organizers to ride in The gps, they only get prize money and of course money from their own sponsors.
