  1. Nigelb, There will be one meeting in the Stockholm area during that time. Hammarby will ride at home against Griparna. Hammarby's track is called Gubbängen. The easiest way to get there is going with the subway from T-centralen (centralstation). Take the green line nr18 heading towards Farsta strand, get off the subway at Gubbängen. From there it is a 1km walk to the track. Use SL's travel planner to find departures. Usually the departure frequency is quite hight with 4-6 departures/hour. The time table for your date is not available yet due to time table changes in mid august. For Div 1, Wednesday September 1st the closest meetings are some 100km away in either Eskilstuna or Hallstavik. Eskilstuna track is 120km west of Stockholm and will take some 1 hourt 20 minutes to drive. Very easy to find the track though since its very close to the Freeway E20 which passes Eskilsuna on its way from Stockholm to Göteborg. For Elitserien August 31st the closest meeting is Indianerna vs. Rospiggarna. This meeting is held at Sannahed in Kumla which is almost 230km west of stockholm. It will take some 2,5 hours to drive.
  2. I also thought that it was the locals who prepared the track. However Zorro said in his radio show a few days ago that its Tony who decides what the track should be like and that BSI/FIM brings their own track staff. I guess Zorro as a GP rider should know who's fixing the track?
  3. Today's meeting in Division 1 between the 2nd placed home team, Team Hultsfreds Gymnaisum vs the 1st placed away team, IKaros Smederna was postponed to another day because of rain.
  4. I agree. Add to that Kolodziej and Miedzinski who both are showing really good form and it wont be a wild guess that the Polish team will be hard to beat. especially this year, when Ole Olsen is out and Tony Olsson is in charge of the track.
  5. your lucky if its only 5km, smedernas tracks is over 10km away from Eskilstuan city. Although is "only" 4,5km to the nearest regular bus connection.
  6. i actually don't think that its the main problem since it don't work properly for the home meetings either and at the Eskilstuna track the internet connections is a high capacity MAN, So i think its either the computer (a too weak one) or the camera. that is the primary cause of the freezing video. Perhaps they could try alternate methods such as sopcast to see if the problem persists?
  7. i actually don't think that its the main problem since it don't work properly for the home meetings either and at the Eskilstuna track the internet connections is a high capacity MAN which was installed for the GPs.
  8. yeah but if anyone tries to pull that off tell them that Gotheburgs GP was sponsored byMiljöpartriet (the green party) one year because they consider Speedway to be a very non polluting sport.
  9. four tracks to start with: Lonigo. Esbjerg Brovst Vejilby
  10. as the situation is now, there is three Danes within top 8 so i doubt that they'll hand out a WC to a fourth Dane.
  11. on the other hand King has been much more successful in Elitserien then stead and from what i have seen of them both King is the better rider. so i could say the same.
  12. FIM have decided to allow the old silencers. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=179&artikel=3855016 a quick translation of an Interview with the new Swedish National team manager. The interview was made by Radiosporten (Swedish Radio's sport department). Peter Jansson is the name of the new Swedish National Team Manager, who under his first day received an exemption, for his riders, from the rule of the mandatoty new silencers for SWC. It feels great. I am looking forward to the upcoming SWC, says Peter Jansson (PJ). With the exemption granted, PJ says that he hopes to be able to field the strongest possible team. -I absolutely hope so he says. However the exemption is only valid for the remainder of this year. -Hopefully they have been able to find a good solution by then. He haven't thought about any new visions for Swedish speedway yet. -I know just about where i stand as a leader and what my opinion is. We have a potential in Sweden to be successful with this. He says that he is not worried about the fact that his predecessor, quite because of too much work. -Not at the moment, we've had discussion during the day about what it is going to look like and it feels very good.
  13. yep that is correct, the track is called Orion Parken (The Orion park and Orion meaning the star Orion) the team is called Stjärnorna (the stars). The track is situated in Hallstavik, about 110km north of Stockholm, in the region called Roslagen. The track is the sortest track in Sweden with its 289m.
  14. Although they lost, Västervik should be really happy about the spectators figures, 3662 people attended the meeting which is very good if you have in mind that the meeting was televised. Vargarna took a comfortable win over Rospiggarna who were missing Jagus. I think the reason was that he is sick. Vargarnas 2+1 points means that they now are within the top 6 who qualifies for playoff. Next weeks meetings: Vargarna - Västervik (televised) Elit Vetlanda - Valsarna Lejonen - Piraterna Rospiggarna - Dackarna
  15. Västervik have put up a good fight but in the end, with only6 riders and some bad luck, its very hard to beat a team like Vetlanda.
  16. no stream but all scores is, as usual, available at http://www.speedway.nu scoresheet: http://www.speedway....tNY.asp?Elit.AC heat by heat: http://www.speedway.nu/2010/visaNY.asp?Elit.AC
  17. very good team riding for 3 laps until they messed up.
  18. Robin Messing is confirmed not to ride any more tonight. If i understand the rules correctly, no other rider will be allowed to take his place since U21 riders only is allowed to be replaced once/meeting.
  19. Both Dackarna-Indianerna and Piraterna-Valsarna are at least 30 minutes delayed because of heavy rain in combination with thunderstorms. In the meeting between Västervik and Elit Vetlanda, there was an accident in heat two in which Robin Messing (Västervik) suspects to have broken his nose.
  20. actually i think King is a better rider then Stead even if King's performance in Sweden this year isn't on level with his capacity.
  21. i think you forgot Dennis Andersson who have been riding very well this season. Anyway Ladyluck, there is plenty of Swedish riders that have gotten plenty of rides/season for many years without improving particularly. Then there isn't really that many Swedish riders from the beginning so if we would have a rule for 3-4 Swedish riders/team it would be very hard for all teams to find enough Swedish riders which would mean that the Swedish riders would actually demand a higher pay meaning that more teams would suffer economically. also i have an addition to Iris' post and that is that using a quota to get riders into the highest league wont make them better riders compared to those who have gone the long way from 50/80cc via div1 & Allsvenskan to Elitserien. And what about Poland? They seems to have allot of young talents but still very few of them seems to make it to the top?
  22. rumours are that the old silencers will be allowed.
  23. i think it is like this with each riders points/heat. Greg 3,0,1,2,1 = 07 Nicki 0,1,3,2,1 = 07 Bjerre 0, 1, 1, 2, 3 = 07 they all have the same number of points (3,2,1,1,0) so its down to their results against each other: Bjerre beat Hancock 3-1 heat 18 Nicki also beat Greg 1-0 heat 7 Nicki beat Bjerre 3-1 heat 11 Nicki won over both Bjerre and Greg and therefore he qualified for the semis.
