  1. congratulations to Team GB, you chances of a direct qualification to the final just increased allot. Andreas Jonsson have to withdraw from SWC because of problems with an arm. Jonas Davidsson will be asked to take AJs place. source: http://norrteljetidn...onsson-i-lag-vm
  2. if you are lucky you might find results in the DMU news archive: http://www.dmusport.dk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2453&Itemid=111
  3. a little thing worth mentioning is that a total of 3 pair if brother rode in this meeting. For Ikaros Smederna: Linus & Rasmus Eklöf, Robert and Daniel Henderson and finally Lars Daniel Gunnestad who's brother Tomas rode for Team Värmland,
  4. live scores from Allsvenskan: Örnarna-Griparna http://www.speedway.nu/2010/reportNY.asp?Alls2.EA Hammarby-Solkatterna http://www.speedway.nu/2010/ReportNY.asp?alls2.BD
  5. i would guess that either of the first two meetings will be televised.
  6. two Allsvenskan meetings tonight. Örnarna-Griparna Örnarna 1. Ronnie Jamrozy PL 7,84 2. Christian Agö SE 4,73 3. Mikael Max SE 8,62 4. Robert Pettersson (F) SE 3,80 5. Niklas Klingberg SE 7,45 6. Oliver Berntzon SE 3,12 7. Per-Ola Klasson SE 2,00 Griparna 1. Miroslaw Jablonski PL 7,92 2. Kenneth Hansen DK 7,78 3. Freddie Eriksson SE 6,66 4. André Hertzberg (F) SE 3,83 5. Kim Nilsson SE 6,19 6. Juha Hautamäki FI 6,20 7. Sebastian Carlson SE 2,57 this a meeting between the nr2 (Örnarna) and nr 3 (Griparna) placed teams in the standings. However Örnarna is a much better team then Griparna and should win comfortably at home. Hammarby-Solkatterna Hammarby 1.Magnus Zetterström (F) SE 8,32 2. Robert Hendersson SE 4,39 3. Pawel Miesiac PL 6,22 4. Tero Aarnio FI 3,87 5. Linus Eklöf SE 5,60 6. Daniel Hendersson (F) SE 3,48 7. Alexander Edberg SE 4,06 Solkatterna 1. Victor Palovaara SE 2,00 2. Adrian Bergqvist SE 2,00 3. Jeremia Thelaus SE 4,10 4. David Rohlén SE 5,19 5. Robin Törnqvist SE 6,50 6. Thimm P Norberg (F) SE 2,08 7. Thimm P Norberg (F) SE 2,08 Basically Solkatterna is the same team as Team Värmland's team lost away against Ikaros Smederna y'day evening with 29-67. So Hammarby will win with a very large margin probably well over 30p. Compared to that meeting Palovaara and Rohén is in, Apsgren and Gunnestad is out. Also i do not know why Thimm P Norberg i listed twice so expect that either n6 or 7 will be another rider.
  7. The averages of those who ride in Sweden check: http://www.speedway.nu/visa.asp?file=%272010/snittNYhtm.asp%27
  8. great work Anders. quite fascinating though that they had to abandon the meeting at Eskilstuna's "neighbour track" Sannahed/Kumla, some 100km west, becasue of rain while the meeting in Eskilstuna was superdry.
  9. nothing strange at all, Nässjö i s Vetlandas Partner team and all Swedish rider that has an entry average of 5.99 or lower are allowed to ride for all partner teams. I think its a necessary rule because without it allot of team would have to close down due to lack of riders. so it seems. i saw the meeting from the eastern grand stand and there is not much to say about the meeting. Initially Aspgren and Törnquist looked very good but they faded at the end. The track was in a very poor condition (way to dry) but its understandable since it has rained less then 10 hours the past month. Even if they put on quite allot of water it didn't help much. Despite the weak opposition i think Smederna's riders did a solid job all the way to the end since they stayed focused on their task and avoided to do any mistakes. It was a respectable spectator size too, 610 people. Next meeting for Smederna is away against Team Värmland on Saturday. The meeting is held at Tallhult in Hagfors (Valsarnas track) and will begin at 13.00
  10. according tp speedwaygp.com: Rider 1 Chris Holder Rider 2 Dave Watt (Captain) Rider 3 Troy Batchelor Rider 4 Rory Schlein Rider 5 Darcy Ward Team Manager Craig Boyce
  11. Some news regarding the Elitlicense. Two clubs have gotten their application rejected: Wetervik MSK (Västervik) Nyköpings SK (Griparna) KMC Karlstad (Solkatterna) have not applied for a license. The following clubs/team have applied and been granted an elitelicense: Gasarna SK (Masarna & Gasarna, Avesta) Gislaveds MK (Lejonen, Gislaved) Hagfors SK (Valsarna, Hagfors) Hammarby IF (Bajen Speedway, Gubb'ngen/Stockholm) Kumla MSK (Indianerna, Sannahed/Kumla) Mariestads MK (Örnarna, Mariestad) Målilla MK (Dackarna, Målilla) Rospiggarna SK (Rospiggarna, Hallstavik) SMK Motala (Piraterna, Motala) SMK Östgöta (Vargarna, Norrköping) Vetlanda MS As a spontaneous comment, its no surprise that Västervik wouldn't make it. A bit more surprising is that Lejonen actually were granted a license since they just a few weeks the town, in which Lejonen are based, had to buy a part of Lejonens arena for over £200'000 GBP to cover up for Lejonens very week economy. If i remember it correctly Lejonen have shown red figures every season since they returned to Elitserien yet they have been granted an Elitlicense every year. Also remember that SVEMO who takes the decision are looking at what the financial status of the clubs at December 31st 2009 and May 31st 2010 for next years license. Then also remember that there won't be a regular promotion/demotion system between Allsvenskan and Elitserien this and next season since all teams that wants to be in the new Elitserien have to apply to it. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Another comment Nigel regarding the tracks and the distance. The road between Stockholm and Eskilstuna is very good. It is good quality freeway all the way with a speedlimit that is between 100-120 kph almost the entire way. Also do not forget that from Stockholm to Södertälje, European Freeeways 4 (E4) and 20 )E20) are the same freeway but they split up in Södertälje, E4 south Towards Helsingborg/Malmö and E20 west towards Strängnäs/Eskilstuna/Örebro/Göteborg
  12. Nigelb, There will be one meeting in the Stockholm area during that time. Hammarby will ride at home against Griparna. Hammarby's track is called Gubbängen. The easiest way to get there is going with the subway from T-centralen (centralstation). Take the green line nr18 heading towards Farsta strand, get off the subway at Gubbängen. From there it is a 1km walk to the track. Use SL's travel planner to find departures. Usually the departure frequency is quite hight with 4-6 departures/hour. The time table for your date is not available yet due to time table changes in mid august. For Div 1, Wednesday September 1st the closest meetings are some 100km away in either Eskilstuna or Hallstavik. Eskilstuna track is 120km west of Stockholm and will take some 1 hourt 20 minutes to drive. Very easy to find the track though since its very close to the Freeway E20 which passes Eskilsuna on its way from Stockholm to Göteborg. For Elitserien August 31st the closest meeting is Indianerna vs. Rospiggarna. This meeting is held at Sannahed in Kumla which is almost 230km west of stockholm. It will take some 2,5 hours to drive.
  13. I also thought that it was the locals who prepared the track. However Zorro said in his radio show a few days ago that its Tony who decides what the track should be like and that BSI/FIM brings their own track staff. I guess Zorro as a GP rider should know who's fixing the track?
  14. Today's meeting in Division 1 between the 2nd placed home team, Team Hultsfreds Gymnaisum vs the 1st placed away team, IKaros Smederna was postponed to another day because of rain.
  15. I agree. Add to that Kolodziej and Miedzinski who both are showing really good form and it wont be a wild guess that the Polish team will be hard to beat. especially this year, when Ole Olsen is out and Tony Olsson is in charge of the track.
  16. your lucky if its only 5km, smedernas tracks is over 10km away from Eskilstuan city. Although is "only" 4,5km to the nearest regular bus connection.
  17. i actually don't think that its the main problem since it don't work properly for the home meetings either and at the Eskilstuna track the internet connections is a high capacity MAN, So i think its either the computer (a too weak one) or the camera. that is the primary cause of the freezing video. Perhaps they could try alternate methods such as sopcast to see if the problem persists?
  18. i actually don't think that its the main problem since it don't work properly for the home meetings either and at the Eskilstuna track the internet connections is a high capacity MAN which was installed for the GPs.
  19. yeah but if anyone tries to pull that off tell them that Gotheburgs GP was sponsored byMiljöpartriet (the green party) one year because they consider Speedway to be a very non polluting sport.
  20. four tracks to start with: Lonigo. Esbjerg Brovst Vejilby
  21. as the situation is now, there is three Danes within top 8 so i doubt that they'll hand out a WC to a fourth Dane.
  22. on the other hand King has been much more successful in Elitserien then stead and from what i have seen of them both King is the better rider. so i could say the same.
  23. FIM have decided to allow the old silencers. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=179&artikel=3855016 a quick translation of an Interview with the new Swedish National team manager. The interview was made by Radiosporten (Swedish Radio's sport department). Peter Jansson is the name of the new Swedish National Team Manager, who under his first day received an exemption, for his riders, from the rule of the mandatoty new silencers for SWC. It feels great. I am looking forward to the upcoming SWC, says Peter Jansson (PJ). With the exemption granted, PJ says that he hopes to be able to field the strongest possible team. -I absolutely hope so he says. However the exemption is only valid for the remainder of this year. -Hopefully they have been able to find a good solution by then. He haven't thought about any new visions for Swedish speedway yet. -I know just about where i stand as a leader and what my opinion is. We have a potential in Sweden to be successful with this. He says that he is not worried about the fact that his predecessor, quite because of too much work. -Not at the moment, we've had discussion during the day about what it is going to look like and it feels very good.
