well Jonesy i think the guest rider rule is ok as it is. Obviously its the teams own choice to put a U21 rider as guestrider, which could make them vulnerable to injuries on that rider. The teams knows the rules when they sign riders, Anyway i did miss that Hammarby also have a third U21 rider, Hyll so they should be ok. They could also use R/R for Dennis.

2013 World Cup - Venues
Ghostwalker replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think this years SWC proved that it does not make such a big difference and that it is perhaps not a good idea that have the host seeded direct to the final. The crowds weren't that big (possibly weather related) and i think despite no Croatia in the final allot of people would show up. basically its the same question as with the joker. Is not the SWC product exciting in its own? Do wee really need all this seeding and double points things? Why not try to have the best teams qualify and the best teams win without jokers and seeding? Who knows, it could be exciting. -
Alex Edberg is injured and will miss the rest of the season. http://ekuriren.se/s...-drabbade-alex- For Hammarby this means that they will only have one guest rider available for the rest of the season since it is not allowed to change gust riders in the middle of the season. The exception is if a rider retires from speedway. It also means that Dennis Andersson is the sole U21 rider at Hammarby and if he cannot ride in a meeting Hammarby won't be able to field a complete team and i think that they will not be allowed to race. Edit, my mistake, Hammarby do have another U21 rider.

World Cup Final 14th July
Ghostwalker replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Oh but it is something wrong with it. All teams cannot use it. Only the teams that are at least 6p behind. Its the same with the tactical substitute. The team that is leading cannot use it. Why should the loosing team be rewarded for being 6p (or more) behind? Some say its because the want "excitement", but the joker and ts are not exiting they are a joke. let the best team win by letting all riders ride their heats. I think speedway would benefit from it. I have seen a few meetings in Sweden this year where the "weaker" team was winning until the loosing started using T-subs, in the second half of the meeting and, thanks to the ts rule, managed to turn ita round and win. Not a fair rule in anyway, without the ts the teams who lost would have won. -

agreed, it was the same in the WRC for several years when the leader of the championship and or leader of the rally were forced to be the first car on the road. Usually this is very disadvantageous but the FIA have come to their senses (finnally) to this season and gone back to qualifying+reversed starting order, Also some car racing series used to put extra weight in the cars that won a race. -

No the only cheating is the joker rule, double points if anything is cheating. The only way it could work (in SWC) is to allow all teams to use it once regardless of score and also neither it or tactial substitute should be allowed in heats 17-20. -

looked like it worked out pretty good for the danes. Imo what Britain needs is youth speedway and speedway schools, but since there is no(?) 80cc tracks and most (?) teams are owned by promoters it probably isn't likely. -

just a heads up for those who are going to Målilla this week. As mentioned before there have been allot of rain in the area. With flooding and flushed away roads as a result This means that currently the road (road 40) between Eksjö-Mariannelund-Vimmerby have very limited accessibility (flooding). and the road between Mariannelund and Hultsfred (road 129) are closed until further notice. see this map for current info. -
Viktor Palovaara leaves Valsarna for Dackarna. Valsarna will replace him with Daniel Gunnestad. Gunnestad rides on a Swedish license since May this year. It seems though that Valsarna will be able to continue the season. The other riders have managed to come to agreements with Valsarna and they say that they will be able to full fill the season. http://nwt.se/sport/article1135587.ece
