2014 Gp Calendar
Ghostwalker replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Målilla and Gotherburg is listed at separate dates? it will be one them that hosts the Swedish GP, they won't have one each. There is no way there will be a Swedish Gp at "30/08/2014" when the Stockholm GP is just 4 weeks later. I think its pretty certain that the Swedish GP will be during the spring. -

MIkkel Michelsen will not remain with Dackarna, the team said that they couldn't fit him in under the average cap. https://twitter.com/...479781590249472 Perhaps he'll sign with Västervik that just have told Chris Harris that his team for 8 years in Eliteserien won't have room for him. https://twitter.com/...500489007513600 Sure Harris didn't have his best season is Sweden this year but c'mon, 8 years of loyalty ought to be worth something?

The EU-laws have something that is called free movement for goods and services on the inner market of the European Union. I don't know how it works in practicality but its there to prevent countries/organisation from exuding restriction in trade of goods and services. I don't know if it applicable here however we had a similar situation in Sweden where Svemo tried to stop the riders who had a Svemo license from participating in events organized by the the stand alone organization Folkspeedway. (not Svemo/FIm affiliated). However this was ruled as illegal due to EU-laws and other laws that exist to prevent restriction of competition. In the same way Svemo cannot set rules that relegates that minimum number of Swedes in a lineup since it also violates the same EU-rules. This have been solved by a verbal agreement but I doubt that would hold up in court if it would go that far (very unlikely though). This was not a ruling for speedway in particular but more of a general ruling that a federation does not have exclusive right to organize events and completions in sports. Basically it means that someone could start a new international Speedway federation to compete with FIM and it would be up to each national federation and each team to decide who they wanted to belong to, I am no expert but I will have a look at what the law says.

I agree with this. Especially when it comes to unsatisfactory start. I can understand if the airfence or the tape need to be repaired replaced and etc. I've sometimes seen in league racing that when a rider is ex'd for 2min violation the referee cancels the heat and re-start the 2min clock. I also thinks that when the 2min clock is activated only riders should be allowed on the track except for a small zone near the pit entrance. Mechanics should not be allowed to bring a new bike all the way to the tapes or anything like that.

Wild Cards 2014
Ghostwalker replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
regarding Cadiff, Stockholm, Copenhagen and etc, I don't think the number of Brits, Swedes and Danes at those GP's. I think the most important isn't how many there are but how good they are. If Tai wins the title and stays a top contender next year I think that would bring more people then Harris, Nicholls and King would bring together if they all would ride at Cardiff (with no Tai). -
A couple of more signings: Fredrik Engman will be a guestrider for Masarna in Allsvenskan. Anders Mellgren and Daniel Nermark will also ride in Allsvenskan for Valsarna. Tai Woffinden have signed with a yet unknown team, probably Vetlanda or Vargarna. Nicki have also stated earlier this week that he would sign a contract with a new club for 2014, Dackarna is the prime candidate. Smederna is negotiating with 10 riders for 4+2 spots, some of the have been named; Zorro, PK, L. Eklöf, Walasek, Laguta and Lebedevs. The other four I think is Pawlickis, possible Tai and another Sweden for a guestrider position. Remember for Elitserien the guestriders cannot have an average that is higher then 1.250

They were No they were not released, they were offered new contracts but they decided to leave since they obviously wouldn't be used much with Darcy, Greg and Chris in the team. I think that several teams are interested, Probably Vetlanda, Smederna, Vargarna and Rospiggarna. I think it depends what other riders these team will have. If Smederna retains Laguta we could fit the Pawlickis in but Zorro and Puodzuks would be left outside the lineups (if Zorro re-sign with Smederna).
