  1. Joel Andersson and Mikael Max have signed with Indianerna. http://www.speedwayn...for-indianerna/ Jarek Hampel stays with Vetlanda. http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/vetlanda/jaroslaw-hampel-kvar-i-evs-ytterligare-tva-ar/
  2. According to Race magazine Paul Bellamy from BSI says that there will be two Grand Prixs in Sweden next year. the Swedish Gp have still not been decided about and both Ullevi and Målilla is still in contention. He says that BSI have several different options regarding contract length. Either a short or long term contract with either of the tracks or they will do some alternating between the tracks from year to year. The article also says that he have been in contact with Smederna from Eskilstuna regarding a different matter and although he doesn't say it straight out Bellamy hints that it could be one of the SWC events. There will be 12 GPs next year as well and three positions remain to be allocated. http://www.racemagazine.se/bsi-tva-grand-prix-i-sverige-2014/
  3. It seems that he will recover, no surgery was needed and as soon as he feels a little better he will be moved from the hospital in Stockholm to a hospital in Bydgoszcz. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=sv&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.espeedway.pl%2Fnews%2Ctomasz_gollob_nie_musi_byc_operowany%2C65256%2C12.html
  4. That isn't the question nor the point, The question remains you have a wild card to hand out and you can only choose between KK and FL. So how would you decide who is the better rider?
  5. It was not the best GP but it was still way better then GPs like Prague, Krsko and Daugavpils. The most recent years I think the quality of the temporary tracks have improved (except for Cardiff this year) and I think that they provide pretty good racing. This was also the first GP at this stadium which is less then one year old so I would guess that they for each year would be better creating and grading the track. I also think that the first year is (obviously) very crucial. Its a new stadium and nobody really knows what to expect and therefore stayed at home. It isn't always only the racing itself that is the only factor, for a stadium like this which is some distance outside the most central parts of the city, transportation is also important to some extent and so far its more then a km to nearest commuter train station (Solna station). However the station is currently undergoing construction and from next summer a new station house will have been built with a new pedestrian bridge over the tracks. I'm not sure much this really improves the situation since it still seems to be around 1000m from the station to the arena.
  6. Perhaps not but how would you separate someone like Kasprzak from lets say Lindgren? Or Patryk Dudek from Michael Jepsen Jensen?
  7. So how do you decide which riders are the best in the world?
  8. Apparently Torun had found a replacement for Gollob. The teams and the team managers wanted to ride but the owners had apparently said no. Torun will be demoted from Ekstraliga and will be fined 3'000'000 Polish Zloty, which is about £600'000GBP.
  9. I can see both sides of the coin here. That Torun should have been allowed to find a replacement for Gollob or R/R and such things. On the other hand you just can't postpone meetings because one of the teams have several injuries. This year Smederna have suffered really hard from Injuries and there have been many meetings where we have missed several riders. For large parts of the season but Smederna kept fighting and eventually made the play offs and semi finals before getting struck by another injury.
  10. From what I've read Torun does not reach the floor average and thus they have to do a walk over. A similar situation to what happened with Greg H earlier this year. Apparently Torun's officials wants to postpone it and re-schedule because of the injuries they have suffered. All of Torun's riders is supposed to have left the stadium. I read this here: https://www.facebook...495645553865276 But Gollob won't rider more this season from what I have read.
  11. Attendance is said to have been about 24800 which i think is pretty good.
  12. A translation of Sportowefakty claims that Gollob "has shifted the seventh cervical vertebra of the vertebrae", which I think would mean a dislocated but not broken vertebrae. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportowefakty.pl%2Fzuzel%2F386102%2Ftomasz-gollob-nie-pojedzie-w-zielonej-gorze&sandbox=1 Espeedway says cracked vertebrae http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=sv&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.espeedway.pl%2Fnews%2Ctomasz_gollob_ma_pekniety_siodmy_kreg_szyjny_video%2C65232%2C10.html
  13. That is a really stupid move by Piraterna. They already had a very solid team with Pawlickis, Holder ad Greg. With this signing their team will be much weaker. They got three tops but the reset of the team will suffer fro it.
  14. I know he remained in hospital for more then a week. He had a surgery to his back and he aims to be fit for a large a ski race (vasaloppet)the first sunday in march. I don't know much more, i think i linked a news article in the stickied Swedish news thread in the int section of the forum. @wackie, surely youre not blaming atais injury on the track? Tai was going for a gap that wasn't there and he hit gollobs backwheel. Could have happened on any track. Suere the track is short and tight but there's allot of short and tight tracks in speedwayworld, especially un England and there's allot of injuries hapoening on them as well.
  15. dont know if it has been mentioned yet but Stockholm GP 2014 will be Sep 27th.
  16. I think Nilsson feels the pressure as a wild, card. Reserves are doing well though. I think that is the same kind of injury as PK suffered a few weeks ago.
  17. If you think Stockholm is expensive, wait until you get to Helsinki, Copenhagen and especially Oslo. Also if you want to try out a Swedish speciality, I can recommend this: Fried Herring at Södermalmstorg. Open Sat-Sun 12:00-17:00. http://www.tripadvis...-Stockholm.html http://www.yelp.se/biz/str%C3%B6mmingsvagnen-stockholm I have idea about the price level but the this "Fish wagon" is very popular. Get your "drinks" to it from Ica Nära at Östgötagatan 6, Stockholm
  18. results from Hammarby Open meeting; http://www.smederna....ews&newsid=2808 Zorro have signed for Hammarby for Allsvenskan: http://www.speedwayn...-in-i-hammarby/
